Formula Overview
$12.00/0.183 oz. - $65.57 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "semi-sheer" coverage that can be built up and has a "natural-looking flush" paired with a "natural matte finish." They had a very creamy, lightweight texture--almost a little clay-like where it felt like it had a lot of slip but wasn't as "wet" as expected. It took about 15 to 30 seconds for it to dry down for the most part, and it wasn't unmovable but it wasn't tacky or prone to transfer.
The pigmentation was semi-sheer, as marketed, and it was somewhat buildable, but I felt like building up more than half a layer or so felt like it moved the product around more than desired and resulted in foundation that was more prone to lifting on that attempt at a second layer (first layer was fine). If building up product, I would recommend using a stippling brush for the second layer!
It had a soft-set, so it didn't fully dry down and become unmovable, but it wasn't quite powder-like and still had a "natural matte" finish as the brand touted. The products blended out easily, sat well on bare skin and on top of foundation, and lasted around eight hours on me.

Another beauty. I just picked up three blushes while in Seattle. All are from the Chanel and the Westman Atelier permanent collections and all in similar shades. I know, but they aren’t the same, LOL!! I definitely have a shade range that I love and since I love them, why not have a lot of iterations of those shades. I don’t wear a ton of peach, brown, nude or orange shades so no need to have more than I already possess. Those were shades I focused on when buying Korean makeup as they wear a lot of those peachy/pink/brown shades and those really compliment the skin tone. I wear them and like them but they aren’t my natural preference. So, I got Chanel Rouge Profono and Pink Explosion and from Westman Atelier I got their Baby Cheeks blush in Dou Dou.
What do you think about the Westman Atelier blush? I think seem very expensive, though the packaging is very stylish and I hope the product is equally good. Can you do a mini review, please!?
Bearing in mind that I am not Christine and don’t know anything about reviewing, LOL, here are my thoughts on the Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush in Dou Dou. I should start by saying, I really wanted to buy the Vital Pressed Skin Care Powder in Pink Bubble and they were out of stock so I was prepared to fork out $75 for the small compact powder. In contrast, the $48 Baby Cheeks Blush looked cheap in comparison. The packaging is really luxe feeling with a very secure magnetic closure. I know it is the product inside that matters but I do like the feeling of the cylinder in my hand and since the product can be used on the lips and eyes as well as cheeks it is nice to know that it has a secure closure, when carried in the purse. I have worn it three times and have used it three different ways. It is quite smooth and I applied it with my fingers taking it directly from the cylinder and applied to my cheeks and tapped it out. It blended really easily and while it left a nice sheen, it did dry down on my cheeks so I didn’t have to worry about my hair getting caught in it. I applied it quite sheerly initially and then built it up. I didn’t try to get opaque coverage so don’t know if it was possible but I would suspect not as I think your skin would still show through. It was not too emollient and didn’t move around on my face. The second time I wore it I used a blush brush, Real Techniques and applied it from the cylinder to my cheeks. I usually swirl off powder blushes before going to the cheek and didn’t swirl off this blush and it applied beautifully, not too heavy. The third time I wore it I actually mixed it with a little foundation to see if it would cover my hyperpigmentation and it worked beautifully. Nothing completely covers but the blush/foundation mix worked really well and then I tapped on another layer of just blush. I have worn the blush as a lipstick on two occasions. As would be expected, it wasn’t hydrating at all and the first time it really dried out my lips. I used a balm under it next time and it was nice. I always eat off my lipstick so can’t say it lasted for a long time. I have not used it on my eyes.
I really like it and will buy a couple more colors. I did add a powder blush on top one of the days and it applied nicely. I think there are a lot of really good blushes out there and I wouldn’t say this is revolutionary but it is nice. I know that there are really nice blushes for a lot less money.
In addition to the powder, I want to get the Super Loaded Tinted Highlighter. I love Peau de Rose and Peau de Peche equally.
One of the You Tubers that I follow, Angela Van Rose just posted a video today using the Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks blush. She also uses the highlighter and powder from Westman Atelier. What a coincidence that she posted this today. She loves high end makeup and I follow her to keep up with the high end market. Like her, I think Chanel was my first high end makeup purchase. I had a lot of high end skincare because my best friends mom worked for a high end brand in the 60’s and 70’s and since Cindy didn’t care for skincare or makeup, her mother gave everything to me. When I could purchase my own I went to a Chanel counter and had my makeup done. I purchased the eye shadow quad, a blush and a lipstick. I don’t remember what quad but I know the lipstick was named Midnight Rose and it was my most repurchased lipstick until they discontinued it in the late 80’s. I still have a soft spot in my heart for Chanel. Here is the link to the video.

On my face, I’d get less plum and more of a pink cheek. Coyote sure is a pretty one!
I think this one is for me. It looks so nice and the colour is perfectly me feeling.
It’s now on my WL for a future CP haul.
