ColourPop Coconut Kiss Just a Tint Lippie Tint Duo Review & Swatches
Coconut Kiss
ColourPop Coconut Kiss Lip Duo ($11.00 for 0.14 oz.) includes twist-up lipstick-lip balm hybrid pencils in a soft brown and a muted coral. Both shades had more medium, buildable coverage with moderate wear and a hydrating formula, though Shaka could have applied more evenly. Their big “downside” was that they have more pigmentation than a “wash” of color (as marketed).

Shaka
Shaka is a soft, plummy brown with subtle, warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had medium, buildable coverage with a lightly emollient, more balm-like texture that was easy to manipulate and spread across my lips. The only downside was that it had enough slip that it separated along some of my lip lines and could have been applied a bit more evenly. It wore well for four hours and was hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$7.00/0.07 oz. - $100.00 Per Ounce
The formula is described as "the perfection sheer wash of colour in the comfiest, lightweight, super moisturizing formula." Here's the big takeaway... they are not that sheer; they're not a wash of color. They have medium to semi-opaque, buildable coverage with a few shades being more true medium in coverage; I just wouldn't say they're sheer nor just a wash. That medium to semi-opaque level of coverage still allows for some translucency, which gives the color a lighter look that's more like a stain.
The texture was creamy, thin, lightweight, and balm-like; I'd actually say it felt like a gel-like balm because it had the cushion-like slip of a lip balm but had the smoothing prowess of more gel-based formulas. The most impressive aspect of the formula was how little the colors sank into my lip lines and how forgiving they were with imperfections in lip texture. The wear time varied from two and a half to four hours on me, and the formula was lightly hydrating over time. They have a sweet, fruity scent (passionfruit per their website) but no discernible taste.

Shaka
LELimited Edition. $7.00.
Waikiki
Waikiki is a muted, medium peachy coral with warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had medium coverage in a single layer, which was buildable to semi-opaque coverage if desired. The consistency was lightweight, emollient without being too slippery, and comfortable to apply and to wear. This shade stayed on nicely for four hours and felt moisturizing while worn.

Both of these look like very easy to wear shades. Especially good as a nude lip on me would be Shaka. Waikiki as a peachy-nude MLBB. I’ve been really digging this Going Coconuts collection for some reason!
Hmmm… ColourPop is not honoring their own discount codes of COLOURPOPPIN or TEMPTALIA. Not sure why they’re being stinkers.
Influencer codes don’t work all the time on all products – there are some that are ineligible; it might be on new products this time (I know they don’t work on collabs!). I don’t have a… detailed list or anything, though 🙁
Probably because the Going Coconuts collection is brand new, and the one other cheek product is from the Pony Park Bitti collaboration. Now it makes sense. I was hoping to nab that $5 off of $15, though! Thanks for letting me know about their possible limitations for codes, Christine.
I think of you as more of an analyst than an influencer, which is a GREAT thing.
Exactly. Last night we were playing poker and my stepdaughter was talking about a friend who is an “influencer”. I showed her your website and she looked at your Instagram and said wow, and that is who produces all of the amazing swatches! She loved your review system too.
I have two different Just a Tints and found the scent to be much too strong. Fortunately, I found someone who loves them, so I gave them away. Coconut Kiss and Shaka are both pretty, but they’re a hard pass for me.
Lovely shades that seems to be quite wearable for work or weekends.
