ColourPop Cheerio Super Shock Cheek Review, Photos, Swatches
ColourPop Cheerio Super Shock Cheek
ColourPop Cheerio Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “deep cranberry in a satin finish.” It’s a reddish berry with subtle cool undertones and a gold and fuchsia micro-shimmer. Surratt Beauty Rougeur (P, $32.00) is similar. Make Up For Ever #510 HD Blush (P, $26.00) is less shimmery. Chanel Chamade (67) (P, $38.00) is lighter, brighter. NARS Goulue (P, $29.00) is slightly more muted. Kevyn Aucoin Neolita (P, $37.00) is similar. Bobbi Brown Berry (LE, $26.00) is darker. NARS Soulshine #3 (LE, $29.00) is warmer. NYX Desert Rose (P, $5.00) is less shimmery. Chanel Rouge (LE, $45.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
The formula feels spongy and more like clay or play-doh than your traditional cream blush, which makes it a lot less emollient and even lighter-weight as it tends to feel, look, and blend more like a traditional powder blush than a cream one once the product hits the skin. It’s supposed to have buildable coverage with the most color payoff achieved by applying directly with fingertips and a “sheer, airbrushed effect” when used with a duo fiber brush. It may take a few attempts to get into the ease of using the formula (or you might just find your stride immediately). I’ve found the most foolproof way is to apply with a stippling or duo fiber brush (I like MAC’s 159), especially with the deeper and richer shades like this one. It had semi-opaque coverage when applied with fingers, but it doesn’t get to fully opaque color, if that’s your aim. When I was testing this shade, it seemed easier to get even coverage with a sheerer application. The finish appears a more semi-matte on the skin than shimmery, so I wouldn’t let the shimmer scare you if you gravitate towards mostly matte finishes. On me, the blush lasted for nine hours before fading slightly.

Very pretty! I’ve been eyeing MUFE HD #510 for a while, but wouldn’t wear that bright a blush very often, so this might be a good option for me. The swatches do look kind of sparkly, although it doesn’t look sparkly on your cheeks… I prefer a matte to satin finish for blushes… wondering.
You might like it – I really don’t notice much shimmer to it on!
Thanks! 🙂
It’s such a pretty red!
It is!
That is a great natural looking blush on you! It is scary in the pan, but lovely applied!
Thanks, Julie!
That color is gorgeous and your swatches are fantastic. Beautiful product photography <3
Great review, Thanks!
Happy to help!
That’s a lovely color on you. I’m probably going to pick a couple of these up to play around with. Even with the slightly odd formula, they sure look good.
When they work, they’re really lovely! Probably don’t need ALL 20 though. 😉
It looks sooo good on you, in a subtle way! I like it.
Aww, thank you Ginny!
Wow, this has just proved that I’m deeply in love with this kind of color. Before reading your review, when I saw the swatch, I knew right away that I need this shade on lipstick. And back then, I asked you the same question of possible dupes on Surratt Beauty Rougeur!
Haha! How funny 😉
I love ColourPop’s new shadows. I didn’t notice any shimmer once applied. You have to use a light hand otherwise it could be too overbearing. I also purchased MUFE’s cream shadows and they were WAY too bright for me to use, although they are quite beautiful. And how can you beat the price of $8.00 for a gorgeous cream shadow from ColourPop?
These are definitely easier to sheer down than MUFE’s cream eyeshadows! 🙂
What a pretty finish this has. I have never been drawn to bright blushes but this little guy seems to look like a dream on the cheeks. Maybe it is a game changer for me.
xx
I look forward to seeing if it is 🙂
I love this. What an amazing rosy red color.
It is!
Beautiful! <3
🙂
I like how nicely it blends and sheers out.
Me too!
Cheerio has been a favorite of many makeup addicts. I am surprised that this shade got only a B+ rating as ColourPop usually has an exceptional quality.
It’s good but just not perfect!
Wow this looks like an exact dupe for Nars Crazed if I’m not wrong.
Awesome to hear!
I’ve been looking at all of the reviews for these blushes & love them! I wouldn’t wear this specific shade but would definitely buy at least half of all the ones available. And only $8! Amazing! Thanks for the reviews! Will definitely be purchasing some of these 🙂
My pleasure, Sandra! 🙂
