ColourPop Brandy & Cabaret Fresh Kiss Lip Lacquers Reviews & Swatches
Brandy
ColourPop Brandy Fresh Kiss Lip Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a darker pink with moderate, warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied fairly evenly but had light streaking along the edges of my lips.
I found it was better to apply less product and end up with more semi-opaque coverage as the applicator picked up more product than necessary for an even layer on top and bottom lips (for me). Despite having a bit of streaking along the edges, there wasn’t much that settled noticeably in my lip lines. The texture was smooth, lightweight, and creamy without being tacky. It wore well for four hours and felt hydrating over time, and it seemed to look smoother and better after a half hour or so of wear.

Formula Overview
$10.00/0.21 oz. - $47.62 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have the "pigment of a liquid lipstick" paired with the "shine of a super gloss" that is also hydrating and "ultra-creamy" with "high colour saturation." They were pigmented--typically semi-opaque to opaque--with a smooth, creamy consistency that was lightweight, non-sticky, and spreadable.
If anything, I found they were a little thicker and/or too much product was dispensed on one pull of the doe-foot applicator (so wipe off excess or try to use just one side for getting coverage) as there was a fine line between a good application (mostly even) and a less-stellar application that had some streaking.
I found that they were smoothing of my lip lines, especially as it wore down, and my lips looked hydrated, fuller, and smoother. Most shades lasted around four hours with some lingering color and shine with an even fade/wear down. The formula was comfortable to wear and very hydrating, and it gave me the feeling of a lipgloss/lip balm hybrid more so than a lipstick/lipgloss hybrid.
They were vanilla-scented but has no discernible taste.

Cabaret
ColourPop Cabaret Fresh Kiss Lip Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a brighter, reddish-plum with strong, warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage that adhered evenly across my lips and didn’t emphasize my lip lines, lip texture, or show much in the way of streaking.
The consistency was lightweight, creamy, and smooth without any tackiness, which made it comfortable to wear. It stayed on nicely for four and a half hours and felt very moisturizing.

Brandy is a lovely tone of “nude” beigey pink that I wouldn’t be too overly concerned about it smearing on me due to it being so neutral and only a few shades deeper than my skintone.
I really enjoy the Fresh Kiss formula, so I definitely have my eye on these – they look like very wearable colours too, which always appreciate!
I guess my question is, does this formula last better than the LUX formulation (i.e. Auberge & Fatale)? I loved those two colors, but they last an hour on me. I always love ColourPop’s prices because I feel free to experiment with different colors, but I still want better wear than 60 minutes.
I love both colors, but I’d opt for Brandy because smears in deep colors are not in fashion this season.
They wear similarly on me with respect to longevity (four to five hours), so I’m not sure they’d be longer-wearing on you than the Lux Lip formula!
Good to know, that kind of makes it a no-go for me. My hair’s special power (aside from frizzy whenever I have a picture taken) is getting into lipstick and streaking it across my face.
Cabaret is a stunning shade. Very pretty.
I don’t need anymore dang darn lip colors but I LOVE the looks of these!!
