ColourPop Bonus Super Shock Cheek
ColourPop Bonus Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “mid-tone true peach in a matte finish.” It’s a brightened pop of orange with warm, reddish undertones and a very fine gold micro-shimmer. ColourPop Tonic (P, $8.00) is darker. NARS Frenzy (Right) (P) is more shimmery, powder. Guerlain Petrouchka #9 (LE) is a powder, darker, redder. Makeup Geek Summer Fling (P, $9.99) is powder. MAC Ocean City (LE, $32.00) is redder, powder. NARS Exumas (P, $39.00) is similar. theBalm Swiss Dot (P, $22.00) is darker, more muted, powder. Illamasqua Expose (P, $26.00) is darker, powder. Chanel Frivole (P, $45.00) is darker, powder. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
The Super Shock Cheek formula is supposed to offer buildable coverage that is most intense when applied with fingertips and sheerer when applied with a stippling or duo fiber brush. It is a cream-based blush that feels more like a kind of clay, as it will indent if you press it, and you can almost mold it into a shape, if desired, so it’s not as emollient or as wet as your typical cream blush. It tends to look, feel, and behave more like a powder blush when applied to the skin, as there is no slip, but it is blendable and diffuses easily across the skin. For the easiest, quickest application, I’ve had the best luck applying with fingertips and merely skimming the side of the fingertip pad across the cheeks, which gives color and spreads it out well without disturbing base products. If you need more intensity, tap the color into place and then lightly skim on top. I also like using a stippling brush, which works just fine for my medium coloring with the medium to dark-hued shades and doesn’t feel like it takes forever to build by any means. Bonus had good color payoff that was buildable from semi-sheer to fully opaque (about two layers, depending on how heavy-handed you are). It wore well for ten hours before fading slightly.

The blush goes well with your lipstick! You look ready for a resort vacation!
Thanks, Katherine! 🙂
It does Christine. I would love to se a post on how you put your looks together.I really struggle with what lip and blush to wear with a certain eye look and often I will wind up wearing the same ones over and over. That would help me a ton! 🙂
Here are a few posts from the past that might help! They’re all on the older side, so I guess that suggests it may be time to update 🙂

Oh, awesome! You are so fabulous! 😀
I like! I have Tonic on my list. Tough choice. But, at $8 I may wind up with both! These orangey/peachy shades tend to be my go to cheek choice. I am loving ColourPops blushes. I think they are going to be great for the summer heat and humidity!
I think they will be, too! They’re really light but long-wearing.
I know. I like to get the color on with my fngertips and then use a stippling brush to lightly go over it a bit. I love how it comes out looking like a sheen of color. I’m so happy they are so inexpensive because I have been spending way too much with the Sephora sale and Tom Ford summer collection! Time to start a low-buy soon! LOL
They have a lovely natural finish!
I forgot to mention your amazing eye look that I noticed before the blush, lol! I actually ordered these shadows in my last order along with the “in the Bloom” set ( I think that is the correct name). It should arrive today or tomorrow I hope. I am filing this one in my memory to try to recreate! So springy and summery-just fun!
Can’t wait for them to arrive! 🙂
Put it on the list……… I was going to get Tonic but this one looks easier to work with and easier to pull off. Not sure if I still want Tonic (kinda do, let’s be honest).
lol! Yes, this is an easier shade to use if you can be heavy handed for sure.
Oh this looks soooo pretty! With every new ColourPop review you post I just get sadder and sadder that we don’t get the brand here :’-(
Awww!
I don’t think I can wear it but I love it!
It is pretty!
That eye look! The whole makeup look i love!
Thanks, Jessica!
I just put in my first ColourPop order last week! I didn’t get any blushes in that order, but I’m definitely thinking about trying some out soon. With the price points of its products and free shipping after $30 it’s really hard to say no to this brand.
Yayyyy! Hope you like your goodies!
Beautiful color, and I like the touch of gold shimmer. I think I like this a little better than Tonic.
I love your face look here. I wish I could pull of the powder-blue eyeshadows as well as you do.
Aw, thank you, Rachel!
I have so many dupes for this shade already! Looks like I don’t need it 😉
Phew 😀
They NEED to start shipping worldwide! I want to try their shadows and blushes so bad!
I hope they do soon!
