Clionadh Ochre, Verte, Azure Deep Iridescent Multichrome Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches
Ochre
Clionadh Ochre Deep Iridescent Multichrome Eyeshadow ($15.00 for 0.05 oz.) has a a warmer, brown base with metallic shimmer that shifted from brighter gold to dirty gold to green to brighter, cooler green. The brand described the shift as “gold-lime-turquoise,” which was accurate. The shift was strong so it was noticeable without contortion.
The base is warmer and more tinted, though still translucent, and designed to work well on deeper skin tones. The texture was incredibly smooth with some glide but didn’t feel overly thick or too emollient, so the color applied well to bare skin whether I used a dry brush, dampened brush, or a fingertip. It had excellent pigmentation that lasted well for eight and a half hours before showing signs of fading.

Formula Overview
$15.00/0.05 oz. - $300.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have more "depth" in the "base tone" and specifically designed to work for deeper skin tones in the way that the more transparent Iridescent Multichrome finish does. They are supposed to have a "tanned base."
While other Multichromes may require more specific application or technique, the brand says that this formula can be used "the same way you would" apply any "highlight or shadow."
The consistency has a denser, smoother feel that wasn't too firm, so I had no trouble picking up product with eyeshadow or highlighter brushes (without having to wet the brush). The product applied evenly, had semi-opaque to opaque, buildable coverage, and was blendable. Some of the shades with larger shimmer/sparkle had light fallout during application. They wore between eight and nine hours on me before fading a bit.

Verte
Clionadh Verte Deep Iridescent Multichrome Eyeshadow ($15.00 for 0.05 oz.) has a warmer, brownish base with a metallic finish that shifted from bright, emerald green to muted, navy blue to mid-tone purple. The brand described the shift as “emerald-turquoise-purple-pink,” and the pink was more of a lighter, warmer purple to my eye and there at the most extreme end. In person, I felt like all the shifts, except pink, were easy to see applied.
The warmer, more translucent base is designed to work well on deeper skin tones. It had good color coverage in a single layer but applied with full coverage when used with fingertips or a dampened brush. I was able to build up to full coverage with a dry brush using a second layer of product. The consistency was lightly emollient without being too dense or too thick, and it didn’t seem quite as fragile as other finishes so I could use a moderate hand to pick up product (if desired). It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Azure
Clionadh Azure Deep Iridescent Multichrome Eyeshadow ($15.00 for 0.05 oz.) has a warmer, grayish base with a metallic finish that shifted from warmer teal to bluish-teal to purple. The brand described the shift as “teal-blue-purple shifter,” which was apt. As the shift’s spectrum was narrower, it was very easy to work with and incorporate as a shade anywhere since teal/blue/purple match well with the same types of colors.
The texture was smooth, lightly creamy, and dense without being overly firm in the pan or too thick. It was easy to work with using a brush as well as fingertips, and sometimes, the more transparent base was apparent, but most of the time, the shift was intense and the coverage appeared opaque.

These eye looks ? especially the first one, oh my goodness!!
I don’t see myself wearing any of these personally, but these are my favorite reviews. I love the swatches, looks and comments. It’s like art! They are so pretty.
They are all so beautiful. I am compiling a cart for my daughter for her Advent Calendar this year. It is so hard to choose which ones as each is more beautiful than the last. Of course, I love green so those are a given. She has quite a few golds but they are gorgeous on her so I may add Ochre to her list. The eye looks are both so gorgeous, Christine.
I love that you do that for her, and wow, what a nice thing to find in one’s calenadr!
Thanks Christine. She is my only child so I know I go overboard but I have the ability to do it and since I had her so late in life, I know I won’t be around in her life the way my parents were in my life. My Mom had me when she was 16 and my Dad was 20. I had her when I was 40. My Mom is still with us and my Dad was here until 10 years ago so she was able to spend a lot of time with her grandparents but maybe not as long with me. Also, following my breast cancer I started trying to make sure she had many wonderful memories to draw from when I am gone.
She is lucky to have you, and I am sure she knows it! So clear that you love her so deeply!
I want you to be my mummy Deborah! What a beautiful idea to give to your daughter. I think I might do the same for my daughter in law – she has had the year from hell, homeschooling both her daughter and son, whilst being pregnant.
She deserves lots of treats.
Worst case scenario, I will put a picture of the product and tell her it is coming. I usually try to do a lot of variety in her Advent Calendar so if I have to I will stick something else in. I had heard that they anticipated fixing some of their production and mailing issues. Maybe they need to hire some people. I am thinking about leaving the US if certain parties are elected in November so maybe I can get a job on their production line, LOL!!
I have always done an Advent Calendar for her since she was little but when she went away to college I actually built my own Advent Calendar for her. I made boxes from Christmas scrapbooking paper and then stacked them from a wider base to a final box on top, mimicking the shape of a Christmas tree. I then made ornaments to put into the open areas. I took the whole tree and attached it to a large, round paper mache box which I also decorated. When a gift is too large for the box it is meant for, I put it in the round box at the bottom and a note in the square box telling her to get the gift out of the bottom box. I try to do a variety of gifts mixing makeup, paper products, (she loves washi tape), perfumes, and anything related to her favorite past times. She loves Harry Styles from the boy band, One Direction, so this year I got her a license plate that says, “Future Mrs. Harry Styles”, a candle called “Watermelon Sugar High” which is a song on his previous album and a couple of face masks. One is Harry and one is Van Gogh’s Starry Night which is her favorite Van Gogh painting. She loves the STARZ series “Outlander” and so I also picked up a shawl made like the female characters, a couple of boxes of note cards with imagery from the show and a dragonfly in amber glass which is significant to the show. Anyway, I try for a variety of things.
What an amazing gift for your daughter! However Iām afraid you wonāt manage to get them in time for an Advent Calendar. I placed my order on July 1st and got today the shipping notification. Consider other 10-15 days for delivery from Canada. So it takes around 3 months from order to delivery. It will be a gift for the new year, hopefully it will be much better than 2020…. Hugs!
Christine, please come do my eye makeup! These looks are too gorgeous.
Ochre and Verte are magical and so interesting! Ochre is like MAC Gorgeous Gold on steroids. Verte is like a twisted mermaid color! Both went on, you guessed it, my WL.
I feel I am out of words to describe these amazing magical shadows. I love looking at them.
How lovely these are – even though I know they would not work for me, I do appreciate the glorious shades.
These are so beautiful! I went to their site in hopes of placing an order, but they are only doing preorders for November (!!!) so now Iām thinking I will just pass on these.
This year (and last) I’ve focused on wading through the muck of uninspired/regurgitated makeup releases from lazy companies to the unique items and products out there. These, these are they. I purchased from jdglow recently and have my sights set on clionadh next. I want more cool shit like this in my collection.
Thank you for including so much more “indie” makeup on your blog over the last few years. I can’t help but feel they’ll always be at forefront of beauty newness with better quality products than the big guys who have to water things down to increase profit margins.
