Clinique Curviest Caramel Chubby Stick Intense ($16.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “beige plum.” It’s a subtly warm-toned coral brown–there’s some orange and a smidgen of rosiness to brighten the brown coloring of this shade. It has a soft, luminous finish. Bobbi Brown Guava is slightly lighter. Chanel Pimpante is brighter, warmer. Cle de Peau R9 is pinker and shimmery. Burberry Devon Sunset is pinker.

This shade had mostly opaque color coverage with a very light translucency overall.  The pencil is creamy enough to apply evenly and easily without tugging or pulling at the lip, but it’s not so creamy that it slides around on the lip, so the wear time is good, too–a nice four and a half hours.  It’s lightly hydrating while worn and doesn’t leave you wanting to make a mad dash for your lip balm after it wears away.  Clinique’s Chubby Sticks all twist-up, so there’s no need to sharpen.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I love this on you.. I love the colour. However, I would never buy one of these products, I wouldn’t even touch them, because of their repulsive names. I have the same revulsion towards the word chubby as some people have with moist, or panties. Sad.

I love this on you! I have it and I like it on me, too *g* I keep these in a mug on my desk to grab when I want a quick hydrating lip product with some color.

Christine,
I was wondering, will you ever review Ka’oir lipsticks??? I’ve been wanting to purchase some, but due to the price tag, I want to see a quality review before I do. While there a few reviews on the internet, none of the ones I have found have quality photos. Thanks.

I had the same problem with the classic Chubby Sticks, too. They weren’t super drying, but enough that I was a bit disappointed, since they’re supposed to be hydrating. It sucks, because Mega Melon is such a pretty color 🙁

I was afraid of this one because it looked too orange to me, and I hate oranges and browns on my berry-colored lips. But I needed a nude lighter pink for work. On other online reviews, the Curviest Caramel picks up pink depending on how peoples’ skin tones and lip tones work. So I finally tried this and believe it or not, it is pink, not orange, at least on me. I like to layer the original chubby sticks over the intense chubby sticks; the intense provides staying power and the originals add shine and gloss and moisture and tone down the brightness. I can now wear Curviest Caramel with Bountiful Blush on top and it’s perfect for the office; my lips but better, enough color but not too bold. So it might work for you too!
