Cle de Peau Stardust (302) Eyeshadow Quad Review, Photos, Swatches
Cle de Peau Stardust (302) Eyeshadow Quad
Cle de Peau Stardust (302) Eyeshadow Quad ($55.00 for 0.21 oz.) includes shades of beige, warm green, brown, and murky green. Cle de Peau’ sells their eyeshadows as refills (which is just a plastic pan with the four shades), and you can elect to purchase a plastic compact to put them in for an additional $25. I put mine in a Z-palette by attaching a small magnetic to the bottom of the pan. It’s an interesting mix of shades if you like your beige and greens together, but I didn’t end up loving the way the colors worked together, partially because the warmer green shade doesn’t look as intense on the lid as it does swatched or in the pan, so it loses contrast on the lid.
Stardust #1 is a soft, muted beige with very subtle warm undertones and a frosted finish. The texture was very soft and blendable, though a little powdery initially. It had good color payoff and was easy to use. It wore well for eight hours. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Stardust #2 is a medium-dark, warm-toned olive green with a soft, frosted finish. It had really nice pigmentation, and the texture was soft–almost creamy–and effortless to blend. The only thing I noticed was that it seemed to apply slightly more mutedly than it swatched. On the lid, the color stayed on well for eight hours before fading. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Stardust #3 is a muted, medium brown with subtle, warm, yellow-ish undertones and a lightly frosted finish–almost a combination of frost and satin to me, because there is very fine shimmer to it. It might be harder to tell against my skin tone, but it did have good pigmentation that was mostly opaque. The texture was a little powdery, though it was incredibly easy to blend on the lid without losing intensity. It lasted well for eight hours. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Stardust #4 is a dark, dirty green with subtle, warm olive undertones and a golden-green metallic sheen. It had nice color payoff, and the texture was very smooth and finely-milled, but there was a slight dryness to it. The color showed signs of fading after eight hours of wear. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Wow those olive shades are beautiful!! Damn you CdP for being so expensive 🙁
I hear ya! It would be so much more tempting at $40ish!
The olive shadow is so beautiful!
It is!
You. YOU!!!
I was pretty sure I only wanted Satin Moon, but now Stardust has rocketed to the top of my shopping list! There is SOMETHING about them olive greens… 😉
Uh oh!! 😉
all is good, but doesn’t the Stardust name belong to Urban Decay …
I don’t think Urban Decay owns that term.
Ah, that’s a shame. This is probably the quad that I was most interested in. I wish the olive stood out more. Thanks for the review!
No prob, Christina!
#4 is really the stand out shade!
It is pretty!
Those olives are amazing. Love.
I like that they don’t read really, really warm.
These are really lovely colours. I know I have the olive greens already, but I think this is a great palette. Good quality too.
It’s nice when the quality is there in a pricey product!
The outcome look reminds me of NARS earth angel duo. One of my favs!
Ooh, good call!
I can already see the dupes but regardless, it’s so pretty!
Thank goodness for dupes!
This is going on my wishlist! As soon as I win the lottery, I’m buying a truckload of Cle de Peau. I love their skin care line, but have never tried their makeup, and your swatches are making me lust after this quad terribly!
What are your favorite products from their skin care range?
Hmmm…With a name like stardust, I was hoping these colors would have a little more oomph. To me, only #4 seems to have it…it looks to me like loreal infallible in gilded envy might be a good dupe? If so, I’ll take my $8 dupe!
Gilded Envy is greener – brighter/lighter 🙂
Beautiful quad!
Glad ya liked it!
Wow, I totally love the olive/gold colors and the packaging is gorgeous. These would look great on my dark brown eyes, but the price tag is painful !!
I hear ya – they don’t come cheap!
I was ambivalent until that last shade- wow! To the dupes!!
To the dupe-cave!
Oh yes, I love this one! Those olive shades, swooooon!
Woohoo! Will it make your wish list?
They can really whip out a stellar quad!!!! These colors are perfect on you and reminiscent of colors and textures you’ve recently recommended! Lovely.. Can you please tell me what is on your lower lash line? Beautiful!!! Do you get to keep this too? How to not feel overwhelmed by a makeup collection and decide what to do is beyond me, it gets stressful!
It’s pretty easy not to feel overwhelmed since I usually am testing something new (so I am not faced with the dilemma of how to choose from all the things!). 🙂
I think it’s Urban Decay Star Gazer – http://www.temptalia.com/product/urban-decay-247-glide-on-eye-pencil/stargazer
Well, it compliments you! Have you had issues with the pencil? Some have complained.. Olives are one of my first favorites and you wear it well! I’d love to see an olive palette list/comparison summary as well as liners! 🙂
Side note — What happened to Chanel’s holiday?!!! Posie isn’t holiday, right? I was shocked!
Ooooh pretty pretty! Love that eye look too!
Thanks, Dee!
I really like two out of the four. The olive ones are gorgeous. Fyrinnae Boot Season is added to the wish list. I really like my olive shades,
Fyrinnae’s Boot Season is so pretty!!
Sigh it’s so beautiful!
It is!
I love that the #2 colour reads ‘gold’ as an undertone, rather than yellow! 😀 #4 is probably my favourite of the four, and while I may not wear olive greens very often (possible exception: Stash), I do appreciate a nice one!
