Clè de Peau Sand Beige (13) Luminizing Face Enhancer ($55.00 for 0.35 oz.) is light-medium, gold-shimmered peachy-beige with warm undertones and a luminous finish. Chanel Dentelle Precieuse (LE, $80.00) is very similar, just a bit more beige. Urban Decay Strip Highlighter (P) is warmer. Becca Opal (P, $38.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Dior Transatlantique (LE, $58.00) is darker, warmer. MAC Belightful (LE) is more shimmery. Chanel Mouche de Beaute Illuminating Powder (LE, $80.00) is warmer. bareMinerals The Love Affair (LE, $26.00) is pinker, lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

It’s supposed to be a highlighting powder that that “illuminate[s] your complexion.” It’s available as an individual pan (as in, no compact) for $55 or you can elect to purchase it in a compact for $95 (you can see it here). Since I mostly care about the product itself (and functional packaging), I popped mine into a Z palette, and since it’s housed in a metal pan, it stayed perfectly in place. If there’s one product that I tend to gravitate towards these days, it’s a well-done cheek product. The powder’s texture is soft, smooth, and blends easily on the skin, while the shimmer is luminous and sits well on the skin without emphasizing pores or the skin’s natural texture. It had good color payoff that was easily sheered out or built up for a stronger finish. On me, the color wore well for eight hours before starting to fade.

If you have cool tone skin, you can buy number 11 from this line. That one is absolutely beautiful and just brings a spirit of shine into your complexion. And talking of the case, is one of the most beautiful packaging I have ever had in hand. I never liked the idea to pay extra for packaging, but this packaging design deserve it!!

Frankie Avatar

Wow!!! That’s beautiful!! However my wallet is relieved that it’s so similar to The Chanel powder. I suppose it would not be a must have for me then since I already own and love the chanel one! Unless you think they are different enough to justify owning both?? Haha

Does it compare to Dior’s Amber Diamond, which I discovered through Temptalia and sadly smashed my pan AND my backup after it was discontinued 🙁 If not, do you recommend any dupes?

Bronwyn Avatar

I really need a decent powder highlighter that doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. The cle de peau ones are so gorgeous. I love the packaging for them, but it’s defs not necessary f you have something to put them in.

Lucy Avatar

It looks beautiful on you! I have oily skin and huge pores(the devil combination), but might give this a try. Btw, what eyeliner are you wearing on your lower lash line?? I must have that!

I have it and its worth every single paid. Does not give me the disco ball effect at all and it gives me such a nice luminous glow. I just recently started exploring the brand and so far everything has been a hit.

OMG this is like makeup crack for me :)). i LOVE highlighters.
i wonder how it compares to dior amber diamond. i was secretly hoping you review this…i have been seing it aroung the beauty blogs lately.
will you be reviewing the other highlighters from cle de peau? as in the other colours?

It’s handy! I have some pic Mac palettes that I bought by accident, but I can just pop refill plates into them and save a bunch on packaging.

Of course some of the packaging like Voyage is SO PRETTY IT HURTS. I’d actually depot my Les Voilettes into the Voyage compact if I could get my hands on an empty one.

This is lovely bit would be more of a bronzer on me. I think the cost with the compact is a little ridiculous (though not quite Guerlain pressed meteorites crazy), but I d heard these come in refill pans that are significantly cheaper. The others in the line may be worth a look.

Lol, I just I realized you mentioned that in the post. Go reading comprehension! Yeah…have to admit I’m not too impressed with the packaging. I feel like for $90, I want something very unique. This is just kind of gaudy and uninspired to me.

The eyeshadow quads come as refill pans, and you can buy the palette separately… for $25. I couldn’t, LOL! Popped magnets on the back of each (the refills come in a plastic container, the Luminizers are metal pans, so that was nice) and put them in a Z-palette. One palette for $20 vs. $25×8 palettes (8 “quads”) was a no brainer for me. It’s funny, because if they sold it only for $70 and altogether, I’d probably still buy, but knowing how much extra the packaging is, I find it hard to pay extra for it!

Denise Avatar

Oh wow! You look stunning Christine. This product really makes a difference on you, you look almost lit from within. Gorgeous! Will be putting this on my wish list me thinks….eep!

I think this will be an easy pass for me… As beautiful as it is, I have Becca Opal, MAC Superb, and when sheered out (against my skintone) NARS Maldives Multiple, so I think I’m pretty much set on “peachy-pink” highlighters for a while, LOL! …Especially since I find them prettier in the pan than on my skin.

Helene Avatar

I’ve often been tempted by Cle de Peau, they have such gorgeous products, but I find them too expensive. I didn’t know you could buy some of them as refills. Makes it a lot better for the poor skinny little wallet.
This is probably the most beautiful highlighter I’ve seen. I love the pattern and the finish when used.
I might have to rethink my makeup plan for the fall 🙂
You look absolutely stunning in the photo, it could have come with a buy this look buttons.

Sylirael Avatar

So pretty on you, as always 🙂 I’m still at a bit of a loss when it comes to highlighters, but I’m learning, LOL! I haven’t seen much of this brand here, but I’m pretty sure it can be found if one digs around…

…also, randomly, your makeup look description reminds me that I really need to get around to trying that UD powder! I even swatched it in Dubai, and it felt so amazing, but for some reason I didn’t pull the trigger. Why? Your guess is as good as mine… 😉

I’m trying to compare swatches of this highlighter against the Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight The Celestial Powder, but the photos don’t come up. Which one would you recommend for a light/medium, yellow-leaning NC25 complexion? (that’s me) I’m looking for an “enhancing highlighter”. Something that makes me look more glowy in that je ne sais quoi way.

Thanks in advance, guys an dolls!
