Cle de Peau Sand Beige (13) Luminizing Face Enhancer Review, Photos, Swatches
Clè de Peau Sand Beige (13) Luminizing Face Enhancer
Clè de Peau Sand Beige (13) Luminizing Face Enhancer ($55.00 for 0.35 oz.) is light-medium, gold-shimmered peachy-beige with warm undertones and a luminous finish. Chanel Dentelle Precieuse (LE, $80.00) is very similar, just a bit more beige. Urban Decay Strip Highlighter (P) is warmer. Becca Opal (P, $38.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Dior Transatlantique (LE, $58.00) is darker, warmer. MAC Belightful (LE) is more shimmery. Chanel Mouche de Beaute Illuminating Powder (LE, $80.00) is warmer. bareMinerals The Love Affair (LE, $26.00) is pinker, lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
It’s supposed to be a highlighting powder that that “illuminate[s] your complexion.” It’s available as an individual pan (as in, no compact) for $55 or you can elect to purchase it in a compact for $95 (you can see it here). Since I mostly care about the product itself (and functional packaging), I popped mine into a Z palette, and since it’s housed in a metal pan, it stayed perfectly in place. If there’s one product that I tend to gravitate towards these days, it’s a well-done cheek product. The powder’s texture is soft, smooth, and blends easily on the skin, while the shimmer is luminous and sits well on the skin without emphasizing pores or the skin’s natural texture. It had good color payoff that was easily sheered out or built up for a stronger finish. On me, the color wore well for eight hours before starting to fade.
Sand Beige (13)
PPermanent. $55.00.

Anything is this warm peachy beige range looks so good on you. I find they bring too much colour to my face..being more of a Becca Moonstone person..pale gold kinda gal.
Aside: thought your eye look was NARS duo Dolomites at first glance. Wrong guess.. love the eyes regardless.
I was pretty relieved to find this to be so similar to Chanel’s, just because I love that one and it is LE!
If you have cool tone skin, you can buy number 11 from this line. That one is absolutely beautiful and just brings a spirit of shine into your complexion. And talking of the case, is one of the most beautiful packaging I have ever had in hand. I never liked the idea to pay extra for packaging, but this packaging design deserve it!!
This is so pretty, and I love your eye makeup!
Thanks, Melinda!
This is such a good makeup look for you! And this is a beautiful product.
Thanks a lot, Abbey!
Wow!!! That’s beautiful!! However my wallet is relieved that it’s so similar to The Chanel powder. I suppose it would not be a must have for me then since I already own and love the chanel one! Unless you think they are different enough to justify owning both?? Haha
Nah, I don’t think you need to have both, but Sand Beige is a nice alternative, both because it is (potentially) cheaper but also if you ever get through the Chanel one 😉
This is absolutely beautiful on you, and I’m loving the eye look. Do you have details of that anywhere?

Does it compare to Dior’s Amber Diamond, which I discovered through Temptalia and sadly smashed my pan AND my backup after it was discontinued 🙁 If not, do you recommend any dupes?
This is more beige, not as dark, as Amber Diamond, but it is really better, IMO. It is more luminous and has a softer, more finely-milled texture.
Hi Christine, you look so gorgeous!! I never thought I would be interested in a eyeshadow palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills until now! Wow!!
Oh and I forgot to mention that eyeliner is fabulous on you!!
Thank you! xo
It’s a passable palette, IMO! Not bad, not great 🙁
I really need a decent powder highlighter that doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. The cle de peau ones are so gorgeous. I love the packaging for them, but it’s defs not necessary f you have something to put them in.
I put all my Cle de Peau stuff in a Z-palette. Makes me happy to see them all there together, to be honest!
AAAAAAAAAh This is so pretty
Why are you so pricey
Cle de Peau is such a pricey brand, but it makes me happy that they offer refills for so many products so at least you can bypass some of the $$ that goes into packaging if you JUST want the awesome product.
It looks beautiful on you! I have oily skin and huge pores(the devil combination), but might give this a try. Btw, what eyeliner are you wearing on your lower lash line?? I must have that!
Sephora Good Mood!
I have it and its worth every single paid. Does not give me the disco ball effect at all and it gives me such a nice luminous glow. I just recently started exploring the brand and so far everything has been a hit.
So glad you have one, Shelley! Do you have any of their other shades? Have you tried their new eyeshadow quads?
Have 4 of the lipsticks and two eyeshadow quads from the brand.Super impressed.
OMG this is like makeup crack for me :)). i LOVE highlighters.
i wonder how it compares to dior amber diamond. i was secretly hoping you review this…i have been seing it aroung the beauty blogs lately.
will you be reviewing the other highlighters from cle de peau? as in the other colours?
Amber Diamond is a lot more bronzy – darker, warmer – but it has a similar effect (better, actually).
So, so, so beautiful. But so, so, so expensive. Any MAC MSF’s that resemble it?
Maybe Soft & Gentle, though MSFs usually emphasize pores and have a more metallic finish (the beauty of this product is really in its finish).
Gah! I have and love Becca Opal, but this is gorgeous! Added to my Nordstrom Wishlist!
It is lovely!
This is perfect on you, Christine! Are you planning on reviewing the other two shades?
Hi Katie,
I only bought two!
I will be very excited to see your other review then!
I’d have to swatch it. I’d be afraid it would be too dark on me to work as a highlighter.
Perhaps one of the other shade options could work!
Could you please link to the palette that you used?

Sorry, I meant the empty palette to house the refill. Please and thank you!
It’s linked in the post above 🙂 Here it is again: “you can see it here“
Even though I’m not sure if I would pick this up, I love the fact that they made it available in pan form for $40 less. Just goes to show how much $$ is put into the packaging!
Right?? It’s amazing how much the packaging costs – almost as much as the product!
*cough* Meteorites Mythic Voyage. $45 vs $175 last time I was at Saks.
Yep, pricey! I bought Mythic in pan, too 😉
I didn’t realize that more brands were doing that! I need to do further research! Thanks guys. 🙂
It’s handy! I have some pic Mac palettes that I bought by accident, but I can just pop refill plates into them and save a bunch on packaging.
Of course some of the packaging like Voyage is SO PRETTY IT HURTS. I’d actually depot my Les Voilettes into the Voyage compact if I could get my hands on an empty one.
You look so pretty in that photo. I literally gasped when I saw it. I’ll definitely be getting this. Its beautiful.
Aw, thank you so much! xo
This is lovely bit would be more of a bronzer on me. I think the cost with the compact is a little ridiculous (though not quite Guerlain pressed meteorites crazy), but I d heard these come in refill pans that are significantly cheaper. The others in the line may be worth a look.
It’s all bejeweled and whatnot, but I don’t know if there’s packaging that would speak to me in a way that I would spend $40 when I didn’t have to. I’m not really someone that goes really gaga for packaging!
Lol, I just I realized you mentioned that in the post. Go reading comprehension! Yeah…have to admit I’m not too impressed with the packaging. I feel like for $90, I want something very unique. This is just kind of gaudy and uninspired to me.
I don’t know if I could pay $40 just for a compact… It would have to be REALLY AWESOME.
I wish they’d offer an option for a super simplistic case to house this individually, without having to shell out an additional $40 for their fancy schmancy case.
The eyeshadow quads come as refill pans, and you can buy the palette separately… for $25. I couldn’t, LOL! Popped magnets on the back of each (the refills come in a plastic container, the Luminizers are metal pans, so that was nice) and put them in a Z-palette. One palette for $20 vs. $25×8 palettes (8 “quads”) was a no brainer for me. It’s funny, because if they sold it only for $70 and altogether, I’d probably still buy, but knowing how much extra the packaging is, I find it hard to pay extra for it!
That is a beautiful glow indeed! Love the combination of makeup you did for this look!
Thanks, Stephanie!
Oh wow! You look stunning Christine. This product really makes a difference on you, you look almost lit from within. Gorgeous! Will be putting this on my wish list me thinks….eep!
Thank you, Denise! 🙂
I think this will be an easy pass for me… As beautiful as it is, I have Becca Opal, MAC Superb, and when sheered out (against my skintone) NARS Maldives Multiple, so I think I’m pretty much set on “peachy-pink” highlighters for a while, LOL! …Especially since I find them prettier in the pan than on my skin.
I think you’re covered!
So beautiful! I love the color and the design
The design is nice!
All of your features look pretty on this one. Love the eyeliner and lipgloss. I need to use the million highlighters I own, but this is pretty!
Thank you so much 🙂
LOVE your makeup here Christine!! The teal liner, warm cheeks and lips look fabulous on your complexion!
Aw, thanks so much, Ankita! xoxo
This looks gorgeous; I’m so glad to hear that Dentelle Precieuse is very similar! Thanks Christine!
No prob, Carolyn!
I’ve often been tempted by Cle de Peau, they have such gorgeous products, but I find them too expensive. I didn’t know you could buy some of them as refills. Makes it a lot better for the poor skinny little wallet.
This is probably the most beautiful highlighter I’ve seen. I love the pattern and the finish when used.
I might have to rethink my makeup plan for the fall 🙂
You look absolutely stunning in the photo, it could have come with a buy this look buttons.
Right? Cle de Peau is such a pricey brand, so I’ll take a refill and save myself the $40 on packaging personally!
So pretty on you, as always 🙂 I’m still at a bit of a loss when it comes to highlighters, but I’m learning, LOL! I haven’t seen much of this brand here, but I’m pretty sure it can be found if one digs around…
…also, randomly, your makeup look description reminds me that I really need to get around to trying that UD powder! I even swatched it in Dubai, and it felt so amazing, but for some reason I didn’t pull the trigger. Why? Your guess is as good as mine… 😉
Thank you so much, Sylirael! 🙂
It’s a really powder! I feel like it will take half an eternity to finish, too, which is always nice.
you’re glowing with this on your face! it suits you so well.
Thank you, Adhishree!
I’m trying to compare swatches of this highlighter against the Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight The Celestial Powder, but the photos don’t come up. Which one would you recommend for a light/medium, yellow-leaning NC25 complexion? (that’s me) I’m looking for an “enhancing highlighter”. Something that makes me look more glowy in that je ne sais quoi way.
Thanks in advance, guys an dolls!
