Cle de Peau 105 Serenity Eye Color Duo Review, Photos, Swatches
105 Serenity
Cle de Peau 105 Serenity Eye Color Duo ($55.00 for 0.15 oz.) contains a deep, navy blue paired with a soft platinum. I loved the color combination, but the navy blue could have performed better–it was a little drier and more prone to sheering out, which could be somewhat uneven in appearance without a good primer underneath it.
The formula is supposed to have a “silky” feel, be moisturizing on the lids (though it is a powder formula), long-wearing, and have true-to-pan color. I like the effect of Cle de Peau’s eyeshadows on the lid; I think that “moisturizing” aspect of them makes them sit well on the lid as time passes, where they meld well to bare skin. I find that they can be semi-opaque to opaque, more buildable and very easy to wear as a wash of color, if desired. The eyeshadows are rose-scented, though I only just noticed the scent with the compact open but not applied.
As a FYI, Cle de Peau sells the duos as a pan-only, which is not magnetized but you could stick a magnet to it so it would adhere to most freestyle palettes, or purchase their case for $25.

Serenity (Left)
Serenity (Left) is a deep navy blue with cool undertones and a soft, pearly shimmer. It had medium pigmentation, which was somewhat buildable to semi-opaque coverage, but I really felt like I had to pack it on to the point where there was some fallout during application as not all of it layered well. The texture was drier, looser in the pan, and prone to sheering out. With a deeper color like this, it seemed to always look a bit uneven to my eye. The color lasted for seven hours before fading noticeably.

Serenity (Right)
Serenity (Right) is a soft, golden pewter with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. The pigmentation was mostly opaque, while the eyeshadow felt smooth, silky, and was blendable on the lid. It was easy to apply and lasted for seven and a half hours on me.

At this price point, needs to score an A
I agree!
Damn, the right side is so good 🙁
Right?! 🙁
It’s a shame that this blue is rather weak in pigmentation and coverage, otherwise, this would have been a beautiful duo. But that blue just spoils it.
Well-said, Nancy!
The right side is stunning!! I would like the navy under the lower lashing, as I’m predit able!
That would be pretty though! 🙂
What a pity the blue wasn’t true to pan, it looks like such an amazing blue., The platinum is really pretty. I think I’ll get me some dupes for this as it doesn’t seem like I have any.
It had potential!
This a color combination that I love. Too bad the blue is such poor quality.
I wish it was better!
It is a shame that the lovely blue shade lacks pigmentation because otherwise it would be a perfect duo for someone who just likes a bit of blue now and again. The pewter shade is beautiful.
The pewter shade is gorgeous!
Wow, Serenity is beautiful but I can’t justify $55 for an eyeshadow duo, half of which is an underperformer. ?
