In Too Deep

Ciate In Too Deep Glow-To Illuminating Blush ($26.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium, pinky mauve with warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It had semi-sheer, buildable pigmentation (up to semi-opaque) that applied evenly to bare skin. The powder was smooth to the touch without being too dense (or stiff) nor was it so soft that it felt powdery. It was easy to diffuse the edges on the cheeks, and the more I blended the powder, the more refined and smooth the glow looked. This shade would be more ideal for lighter complexions, as it just barely showed up on my skin tone with a heavier application. It wore well for eight hours on before fading.

Formula Overview

$26.00/0.141 oz. - $184.40 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have buildable pigmentation from “barely-there” color to “intense color” with long-wear. It had a smooth consistency with a firmer press, but it was not stiff or difficult to pickup color. From the four shades I purchased, the pigmentation varied from medium to semi-opaque, and they were certainly buildable to full coverage, though the formula itself was forgiving enough that the color could be sheered out as desired (and the powder was conducive to simply picking up less product as well). The swirled nature of the highlighter-and-blush concept did make the color vary a bit, and sometimes it appeared more shimmery than others (though the brand noted that each compact contains 50% of each).

I think this would be a perfect shade of pink for me. I’ve used up my MAC Pink Cult blush (my second one) and am looking for something with a similar light tone. I just love softer pinks that aren’t bright, so I’m hoping this will work because all the other ones were too ruddy and warm on me.

The Ciate Glow to Illuminate Blushes are some of my favorites. I like that they are sheerer and can be built. I also love the ribbon of highlighter that runs through them as it is warmer toned but doesn’t come off too warm on my pale, cool undertoned skin. I apply with a blush brush and then buff into the skin. The blush does change a little depending on how much of the highlighter portion is running through your particular blush. I wish they would release more shades.

Same here Deborah! I have two – Summer Love and Date Night – and I’ve used them interchangeably for the entire summer. In the beginning I was a bit skeptical of the combo blush/highlighter in one, as I prefer subtler highlighters, but these two look like a luminous blush on my fair/light skin.

STUNNING. oh my gosh!!! I’v wanted to try this formula out forever, but this is the first shade that I can really see myself reaching for daily!!

I do not see glitter in the 3 shades that I have. They just translate to a luminous glow on my skin. They don’t read like a highlighter either but just this blush that makes your skin glow. If I want a very “glowy” look I have to add highlighter. Hope this helps.
