Charlotte Tilbury Ecstasy Cheek to Chic Blusher Review, Photos, Swatches
Charlotte Tilbury Ecstasy Cheek to Chic Blusher
Charlotte Tilbury Ecstasy Cheek to Chic Blusher (£30.00 for 0.28 oz.) consists of an exterior shade that’s a warm, coral-orange with a soft, frosted finish, and then an interior shade that’s a pink-coral with gold shimmer. Tilbury recommends applying the exterior shade across the cheeks in a larger sweep while concentrating the interior shade more on the apples of the cheek. Together, they create a warm, coral-orange with a satiny finish. Illamasqua Sleek (P, $26.00) is darker, less shimmery. MAC Passion for Colour (LE, $21.00) is brighter. MAC Hibiscus Kiss Blush (LE, $21.00) is sheerer. Edward Bess Secret Affair (P, $43.00) is very similar. Aveda Hibiscus (LE, $24.00) is warmer. MAC Fleet Fast (LE, $21.00) is darker. Burberry Blossom (P, $42.00) is darker, more matte. See comparison swatches.
The texture is very soft, silky, and finely-milled, though it can be slightly powdery at times as it is a more delicate powder overall. It does blend beautifully on the skin, though, and it almost melts as you swirl it onto cheeks. The soft shimmer in the finish gives cheeks a glowy, luminous sheen that doesn’t emphasize pores. The color payoff was good–the interior shade could have used a little more pigmentation. Ecstasy wore well for seven and a half hours, but it was noticeably faded and somewhat patchy after eight hours, which shorter wear (on me, on average). Normally, I see some slight fading but most blushes don’t turn too patchy. I’ll also reiterate that while the two shades can be used separately to a degree, you’ll need smaller tools or else you’ll find some of one or the other also on the brush. I found it more practical to use altogether. My favorite aspect to the product was really the texture, which felt incredibly soft.
Note, I can’t personally recommend purchasing through Selfridges without a warning–you can read about my experience here so you know what you could (potentially) be getting into. I fervently hope to see the brand launch in the U.S. sometime next year.

Thank you so much. I’ve been drooling over her stuff. Almost ordered from selfridves. I don’t know why she wouldn’t launch here. Hope she does.
It makes sense to do it in the UK first, but hopefully we’ll see it here, too! 🙂
This one looks great on you, Christine. I wish it hadn’t turn patchy, certainly not worth all the trouble you went through. 🙁
It’s so weird! I wonder if it’s because of that smooth, silky texture that’s lovely in some ways but maybe it’s part of the patchiness issue.
What are you wearing on your eyes? They look beautiful.
Clarins The Essentials! 🙂
Given all the problems with ordering this that I read about the other day, I’m glad I don’t like this.
This color looks great on you. What is your foundation color? NC30? And what camera do you use to take these great pictures? Thanks!!
I’m NC25 (probably NC27 if such a thing existed in all formulations). I use a Nikon D3s.
Hi Christine. Nice blush but what I really want to know is what face products are you wearing in this pic? You look so smooth, it’s like you were airbrushed!
Guerlain Tenue de Perfection
Would you please review the foundation that you are wearing? Are you wearing color Beige Clair? On Guerlain website, it shows that this foundation has 12 shades, but I don’t know why Nordstrom only has 6.
Thank you Christine.
Thank you for going through the trouble of ordering products from this line. I was extremely tempted to order from Selfridges or Net-A-Porter, but the cost of shipping and the pound to dollar exchange rate seemed too steep for a line that has a high probability of finding a U.S. distributor some time next year.
The videos on the Charlotte Tilbury website make it hard to not want the entire collection, so I appreciate your always honest opinion on the actual quality and performance.
Man, I haven’t seen Charlotte Tilbury on Net-a-porter yet for U.S. at least! That would have been my preferred site to go to, I think.
Just a quick FYI, you can order through Net-A-Porter if you change your preference to the United Kingdom site, so international shipping and exchange rates will be applied. Maybe they would pack and ship their products with a bit more care than Selfridges? Regardless, I’m just too leery to spend my money on products that I cannot see or touch and cannot be returned if they fail to meet my expectations.
Thanks, Kelly!
This looks beautiful on! I really wish these were sold here!
Great review, Christine! Thank you for such detail as always!!!
I have a friend on eBay who is from the UK, and I’ve bought quite a few items from her line and I LOVE them. The mascara, foundation, highlighter pen and eyeshadows are divine and the stand-out products for sure. The eyeshadows are comparable in quality to Tom Ford- and the accent colors are that creamy, grown-up glitter. No accident on the similarity I’m sure 😉
I love the eyeliner/shadow sticks for my brown eyes- they absolutely make the color pop, but I have found that they will run/move after 4-6h.
All of the packaging is gorgeous!
I did notice some Tom Ford similarities, and I’m not sure that will be a good thing for me re: eyeshadows, lol, as I find TF to be more hit and miss!
Christine, you always look super-great, but in the last few reviews, you’ve looked jaw-droppingly STUNNING….Secrets? 😉 Have you been using Guerlain foundation? I know it’s more than that, just curious. What kind do you use now that Parure (spelling X) Gold has been discontinued?
I actually don’t use Parure Gold a lot, even prior to it being discontinued – partially in a “conserve” effort for no real reason and then because it is a fuller coverage foundation (which I don’t need on a daily basis), so it was my special occasion foundation!
I think in these photos I used Guerlain Tenue de Perfection (their new one) 🙂
I was super disappointed when Charlotte Tilbury Cosmetics launched on Net-A-Porter, but not on the North American site. I inquired about a North American launch and they said January 2014, so … maybe everyone should avoid the less than awesome experience you had, Christine! How terribly frustrating for you. That being said, I appreciate the reviews you’ve done for this brand’s products, but y’all — save your dollars til the new year accordingly.
At least they gave you January 2014 🙂 Mine was like, “Stay tuned!” Like I have no idea what that really means, LOL! It’s coming? We’re working on it? January 2014 or December 2014? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!
I know what you mean 🙁 I ordered from them once. Never again! They actually sent me the wrong product. Then asked for proof where I sent them an image… Which they then took ages and turned my refund into a gift card instead T_T its like “no I dont want to be purchasing from you again!”
I love shades like this – they seem to flatter everyone!
Cute shade! Hopefully these come over to the U.S. soon!
Hello, Her website is currently shipping to the states XD!
Will you be reviewing more of her products. Im interested in the magic cream.
Thanks for the info! I don’t have anything planned at this time.
