Anastasia Lavish Set Review, Photos, Swatches (Quick)
Anastasia Lavish Eyeshadow Palette
Anastasia Lavish Set ($38.00 for 0.33 oz.) includes ten eyeshadows (0.031 oz. each), brow pencil (0.013 oz.), black eyeliner (0.01 oz.), dual-ended brush, and tweezers. It definitely offers plenty of product for your money. This review is focused primarily on the eyeshadows, but I did really like the tweezers–good grip, spring, and squeeze mechanisms so tweezing was easy, in addition to the eyeshadows. Overall, the really high-frost, high-shimmer shades were nice–soft, buttery, and nicely pigmented. The more matte shades were a little powdery but had good payoff generally. When I wore the eyeshadows, they wore well for almost eight hours and showed slight fading after eight hours of wear.
Cream is a pale, peachy beige with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nice color payoff, and the texture was soft and not too powdery. See comparison swatches.
Antique is a cool-toned, gray-leaning taupe with a frosted finish. The texture was soft, buttery, and smooth, while the pigmentation was right on the money. See comparison swatches.
Rum Cake is a muted, coppery brown with warm, orange undertones and a frosted finish. It had a soft, smooth texture that applied very evenly and with excellent color payoff. See comparison swatches.
Moss is a medium-dark, olive green with a golden chartreuse sheen that’s slightly frosted. The consistency of this one was on the drier side, which resulted in color payoff that was just so-so. See comparison swatches.
Truffle is a medium-dark, warm-toned brown with a pearly finish. It had nice pigmentation, and it had a fairly soft and smooth texture–it was just a tiny bit drier than the best shades in this palette. See comparison swatches.
Ballet is a warm-toned, peachy-pink with a mostly matte finish–it’s really a matte finish for the actual color, and then there are very tiny silver micro-sparkles that lay on top but really get dusted/blended away as soon as it is applied. It had decent to good color payoff, but it was a bit sheer at times. The texture was somewhat powdery, which meant it was prone to fading and blending away. See comparison swatches.
Orange Soda is light-medium orange with warm, yellow and orange undertones and a matte finish. This was the most powdery shade in the palette, and it had good pigmentation but had a tendency to sheer out when applied due to the powdery texture. See comparison swatches.
Sienna is a medium-dark, reddish, coppery brown with a matte finish. It had nice color payoff, and the texture was soft, finely-milled, and not powdery. See comparison swatches.
Pink Sapphire is a medium-dark plum with a subtly warm-toned coppery-brown undertone and a frosted, slightly metallic, finish. It had really good pigmentation, and the texture was buttery and smooth. See comparison swatches.
Black Diamond is a medium-dark brown with warm, brown undertones and a smattering of very, very fine emerald green and gold shimmer (it looks mostly matte applied). It had decent color payoff, but the texture was somewhat dry and not as blendable as I’d like to see. See comparison swatches.

What did you think of the packaging? I’ve heard some complaints about it.
It’s a thinner cardboard palette that pulls out of a cover, which then sits inside a larger more gift box-like container that also has the tweezers, pencil, etc., but I didn’t have any issues with it!
Love this palette !
I cannot stand the packaging! Eek… Not even the cardboard but the look of it. Just way too much going on there.
I love this set. I just keep the palette in the cover that it comes in.
For the value, I consider the set to be the cost of a pair of tweezers ($28) since they are full sized, plus ten dollars worth of shadows, and a sampling of the brow pencil and eyeliner with a free brush. Works out well in my opinion.
Packaging usually isn’t something i necessarily get excited or care about but wow, that looks awful in my opinion! Very very tacky! I wouldn’t buy this palette because for 50$ (what i believe the Canadian price will be) i can get something that looks much classier than this does.
Looks like this is the perfect time to gift the Anastasia Tweezers to my sister since she’s been borrowing mine. Haha.
I think it’s a good value since the tweezers are normally $28. Plus, I can keep the palette, the liners and brushes for myself since she’s not really into makeup like I am.
Yes I want it I don’t have any Anastasia and the colors are beautiful I love the extras it comes with good value in my opinion! Thanks for the swatches 🙂
i’m not going to be getting this, but moss is just gorgeous. i’m so into greens lately!
Oooh this looks really interesting despite the neutrals :O One of the few holiday releases I am finding tempting.
I have this. I’m not a big fan of the sleeve-box-sleeve packaging >:( , but overall I like the colors and the goodies (except the brow pencil, which is too dark for me).
I bought this and really like it, the Bold and Beautiful is nice, too, neutrals but the colors are great. The very thin brow pencil (like a mechanical pencil) comes in a large variety of shades, including HTF redhead tones for my kit. The cases are like the Balm but a bit nicer, or like Tarte quality, if that helps anyone.
Now see, this is a nice diverse palette.
This palette looks nice! I love the fact that it comes with so many extra goodies too. I should have paid more attention to it during the VIB sale
what a wonderful product………….
the packaging looks a bit “crummy” – the way several of the pans are misaligned in the cardboard “holes”. Not a deal breaker but there are too many orange based shadows in here for me to find this a good purchase. I do love the look of Pink Sapphire (which is really a change for me) and, of course, Antique and a few of the more neutral shades but I really don’t need this one.
Christine, just wanted to let you know that while Greensmoke is showing as “Discontinued” in the swatches/dupes, at least on the Canadian website, it is still very much available in both the regular and pro-pan forms. I know I’d read last year, I think, that Mac was discontinuing it and in some ways I’m not surprised because it is one of those heartbreaking colours that is unbelievable in the pan but doesn’t transfer what you see there onto the lid.
I’m wondering if it still is discontinued but they haven’t sold out of it yet, lol!
I know listing dupes is important, but I love quick reviews!
Thanks, Cat!
A couple of these shades are really gorgeous!
