Charlotte Tilbury The Climax Cheek to Chic Blusher Review, Photos, Swatches
Charlotte Tilbury The Climax Cheek to Chic Blusher
Charlotte Tilbury The Climax Cheek to Chic Blusher ($40.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a medium-dark, slightly muted, orange-brown with a golden shimmer-sheen finish. Sleek MakeUP Pink Mint (P, $6.99) is cooler-toned. NARS Na Pali Coast (P, $39.00) is more shimmery, cream. NARS Soulshine #2 (LE, $29.00) is lighter. MAC Eternal Sun (P, $23.50) is browner. MAC Cheeky Bronze (P, $32.00) is more shimmery, lighter. MAC Shape the Future (LE, $30.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
The blush is made up of two distinct colors–a gold-shimmered peach and a warm, reddish-brown–that swirl together to create what you see applied. You can get deeper, richer color by concentrating the brush along the sides, or you can lighten the color up more by concentrating on the center. I went for equal parts (to whatever degree that seemed achievable) for most of the application, and then I tried to get a little more of the lighter shade to dust along the tops of cheek bones (like a highlighter) to give it more dimension. The consistency of the powder was soft, smooth, and finely-milled, which made it a cinch to apply to the skin as well as when it came down to blending the edges away. It had good color payoff, and the finish on this shade seemed slightly more frosted than other shades I tried, to the point that it seemed to emphasize pores just slightly. On me, the color lasted for eight hours before fading.

The outer color and even the blend is definitely too dark for me, but boy, that inner pink is so pretty!
I could definitely seeing this being too dark/brown for some!
It looks like a breast. Not as much as the pink on pink one, but still all I see when I look at this is a breast.
Gutter brain!! 😉
She makes a blush that looks like a breast and calls it the climax and I’m the gutter brain? lol
I was only joking around! 🙂
🙂
They doooooo!!!! Areola and blush.. Just, no. I am willing to get over my aversion to experience the texture someday. But a different one that’s more artistic and less splattered breast. 🙂 I feel ya, Staci!
Just NO! No aerola for me thanks.
Thanks ladies, now all I can think of is a breast too…
You’re welcome. Just wait for the pink one.
Too dark for me, but I do think it’s a gorgeous blush.
It is gorgeous! Should be nice on darker skin tones as well.
This is a gorgeous blush, especially that reddish shade!
Glad ya liked it!
I’m loving what I see from Charlotte Tilbury but these just look like areolas.. I can’t get past the breast/nipple look for a blush I’d wear, sorry. You look super, though! 🙂
Apparently you’re not alone! Staci feels the same.
Haha!!! They have others that don’t look AS bad, formula is stated to be great., I have so many blushes., why look at an exagerated areola? Ugh. It just flopped in the pan.. Looks sad. 😉 Im glad there’s no shimmer line trailing down. Just wrong. I will invest in one or more sometime when I don’t see breast and egg. You look smashing! 😀
I’m wearing this today! I love CT blushes. They are so smooth and buttery. I got crazy after trying out one of them that I had to get them all … lol. I’m NC20 but made this work for me by using very little and buffing it out. Just gives me a golden hue! Thanks for posting this, it looks great on you!
LOL! That’s how you know a product is IMPRESSIVE! When one is like, “Uh, yeah, I need them all.”
This is so pretty! And I bet it’ll look absolutely fantastic on deeper skins!
Definitely a good one for deeper complexions!
Beautiful!
Too warm and dark for me, but the colour(s) are gorgeous.
They are 🙂 It’s a bit too bronzy for my personal taste.
This looks beautiful even though I’m on the lighter side in terms of skin tone. I’d have to use a really, really light hand!
A light hand would be a good call with this kind of shade if you are fairer!
Pretty dark for my taste, though I cannot help admitting that it is absolutely gorgeous!
However, that gold-shimmered peach !!! If it could be sold separately…
If only!
I’m not getting “areola” when I see these. These are gorgeous, just too dark for me and I’m not much of one to ever go for bronzers, either. The blusher within the bronzer is gorgeous though and would be tempting alone. 🙂
Have you seen any of the other shades in the formula? They’re all pretty consistent 🙂
Pretty! Do you think this would be more of a bronzer for deeper skin tones?
I think so!
Too warm and too dark for me!
Aww, that is too bad! 🙁
Ooo I love how this blush looks on you. I’ve been debating whether or not to get this for a long while now but I was intrigued to see how the two colour combinations would mix together and how that would turn out but it looks beautiful.
Buying IT!!!
I tried this on at the counter in London and it is stunning for my NC44 skin tone.
