Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold Highlighter Palette Review & Swatches
Bar of Gold
Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold Highlighter Palette ($58.00 for 0.24 oz.) contains three, powder highlighters including the brand’s original Bar of Gold shade, along with two other gold-inspired shades. All three shades performed well–pigmented, blendable, long-wearing–and were easy to use. They aren’t particularly unique or different among the slew of powder highlighters on the market, but if your stash isn’t filled to the brim with shades like it, the trio is well worth a look.

Gold Bar
Gold Bar is a bright, champagne gold with subtle, warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It had opaque color coverage that applied evenly and smoothly on my skin, and the edges blended out almost effortlessly. The texture was soft, dense but not stiff nor was it powdery, and easy to work with. The color stayed on well for eight hours before fading slightly.

Rose Gold
Rose Gold is a light, rosy copper with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The finish on this shade was the strongest of the three, though they could all be layered for a stronger finish. It had rich color coverage that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out nicely. The texture was smooth, dense without being too stiff to work with, and there was no powderiness. It lasted well on my skin for eight and a half hours.

Gold Bullion
Gold Bullion is a medium-dark gold with warm undertones and a luminous sheen. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer. The consistency was soft, smooth, and a smidgen powdery compared to the other shades. It applied well to bare skin and blended out easily along the edges. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours on me before I noticed any fading.

I have the original and I love it. It’s one of the classier highlighters I have so will likely pick this up. Is the packaging that shiny cardboard? That’s the one thing I didn’t particularly like about the highlighter.
Happy to hear you are enjoying the original! This is plastic!
These are all so refined, and look grand on you. My fave is the rose gold.
Thank you, KJH!
It’s absolutely gorgeous, but Gold Bullion and possibly Rose Gold are too dark for me. I have the Wet n Wild dupe for Gold Bar.
Phew! Money saved 😉
Christine, that rose gold shade looks STUNNING on you ???
Aww, thank you!!
These are all SO stunning, oh my goodness. I own way too many gold and bronze highlights though!
I hear that, lol!
This is simply stunning – not too sparkly, just a beautiful finish.
They are beauties!
I’m in LOVE with this trio! That, even though I have some 85% dupes for 2 shades, this is a splendid highlighter palette!
These look gorgeous. I am reallly tempted. Everything I have tried from Charlotte Tilbury, as been an A+ for me. I also love your eye look. I’m tempted by the Norvina palette, even though it only got a B+. But, that eye look you created with this is stunning.
i always search for highlighters that are not too sparkly and these are absolutely stunning !
Highly dupable, yes, but there’s no denying the quality. You look incredible, Christine!
So tempting, these look amazing. I don’t really own many highlighters. One liquid and maybe two powders in a palette.
Want. I don’t need this at all and can’t justify buying it, but I want it nonetheless.
These seem well made, and they’re what I think of when I think of highlighter: Just an extra sheen with no sparkles, or over-the-topness going on. I don’t need them, so not getting, but that’s also some very satisfying packaging/presentation. Well done, Charlotte Tilbury.
Christine, which formula do your prefer this or the Natasha Denona Super Glow. I saw a review of this on YouTube and they also reviewed the Natasha Denona and said they like both but felt the Charlotte Tilbury was smoother. I feel like the ND is super smooth but if this one is smoother I may have to purchase. I would have already bought it but I can only find it on the CT website, I have a ton of highlighters, and I’m trying to not purchase as many unless they are excellent quality.
I don’t find one is smoother than the other – Charlotte Tilbury’s formula is just less shiny.
Hi Christine,
These highlighters are stunning. You wear them well. I’m an Nc35, will the rose gold show up pinky? I am trying to find one. Everything I try seems to blend in with my coloring. I have medium skin with yellow undertones. Thank you very much!
You might want to try a darker copper shade – think copper but how it’ll look more “rose gold” against your skin tone when applied like a blush.
