Chanel The New Eye Collection Swatches
Chanel The New Eye Collection includes four new eyeshadow quads (one was a press sample), five new eyeliners, and colored mascaras (which I didn’t buy). As far as I can tell, they are new and not limited edition (usually Chanel lists the product as limited edition on their website if it is). Here are swatches…
I like the teal liner, but the e/s palettes are nice and moody and smoky, but territory well covered in my stash and I’m more into intense metallics blown out right now.
Nothing here popped out for me until that Intense Teal liner. Gorgeous color! I hope there’s some less expensive dupes for it.
Ready to be shocked? I’m really loving Blurry Gray! It has a less cool, icy tone to the shades that could wash my eyes out or make them appear dull. Do I have dupes for these shades? Probably…but we’ll see!
The blurry grey is lovely.
The green quad is interesting, and very on-trend. The teal and green eyeliners look lovely also. The green reminds me of Timber from Sydney Grace. Blackwood looks nice, the swatch seems very smooth and richly pigmented.
I’m really liking Blurry Blue and Blurry Green but as Chanel is impossible for me to check out for myself now and difficult to get my mitts on, I may wait for the reviews and see what I can manage with dupes. Blurry Blue reminds me of a very pretty e/s 5-pan from Lise Watier that I’ve been hmmm’ing and haaa’ing about buying and this might just push me to get that one.
Mariella, I’ve worn the Blurry Blue nonstop since I received it. Love the colors, the formula etc., lasts all day, and blends like a dream. I just received the Blurry Green yesterday, so today will be the first time I will be able to play with it…but my swatches were lovely. The formula is creamy and smooth. There are two cooler toned colors and two warmer toned colors. I am so happy with my purchases.
oops, add Blurry Grey (big surprise!) to my list, so I guess I’m 3 out of 4 for wanting these but I don’t doubt I can easily dupe all the shades for all 3 quads with the glut of stuff I already own. But I so miss my local Chanel counter (gone for over a year now…) and I really am such a sucker for Chanel quads.
Hi Mariella, my local Chanel counter in the US closed a year ago, and it’s been tough deciding on colour cosmetics without seeing them in store or trying them on. I tend to binge Chanel’s regular line when I’m back home in Canada at my now adopted Chanel counter there. I pre-ordered a lot of the Cruise collection and also the Les Beiges 10-pan palette. Part addiction, part seeing products in person. I refuse to seek help. 🙂
LOL, Tracey! I understand that addiction perfectly. I try to treat mine by finding dupes that I already own, since my “dealer” is no longer close at hand. It’s so funny – I can buy marijuana legally about 5 minutes from my house but buying Chanel…THAT would involve either buying “blind” or making a long drive!
The irony!! Buying blind or making a long drive – we’re in the same boat!! Mariella, I may try your remedy of finding dupes in my collection as a starting place if for no other reason than to draw inspiration from Chanel quads I’m on the fence about. When back home in Canada, I pass a legal marijuana shop en route to the Chanel counter, and am kind of proud we have both.
I’d rather have the Chanel counter and I could sent my husband for the marijuana, I could send my husband, who likes to drive (we used to have one walking distance and, conveniently, right across the road from the LCBO but it was closed down and now we have a legal one within comfortable-to-me driving distance near the Montreal bagel bakery!)
That Blurry Green quad, Brun Agape and Jungle Green are on my list.
The Blurry Blue quad looks gorgeous!
All of these quads are very lovely. I’m especially liking Blurry Blue with those gorgeous cool tones. #2 in particular. I actually did a taupe cool green look today using the Viseart Bijoux. And is usual in Chanel collections, I gravitate to the liners. Are these our old friends, the Yeux Stylo back now waterproof or are these that Chubby liner from last season which one cannot sharpen and which smudge? I got two of those last Spring and don’t like them. Hoping Chanel gave us the skinny liner version back.
These look nice! Very smoky and gorgeous shades. I was wondering Christine, if you had seen the new Chanel Beiges palette? All neutrals too. I like the Blurry Blue and Grey – not too dark shades and very complimentary shades to go with them.
I just saw it this morning but don’t have it!
Hi Genevieve, there’s another brown-y neutral quad coming out in the Chanel Cruise collection. I ordered it and the stunning 10-pan palette.
I like Blurry Gray! I hope I can find dupes in my stash.
I love all of these, but the price is just too steep for a quad for me. Maybe if there’s a good sale sometime.
I love Chanel quads and there was a time when I would have purchased them all immediately. I like the looks of all of these and the formula generally works well for me. Do I see anything earth shattering here, no I don’t and with the beginnings of a “green” trend I think I will wait and pick up a few of the green offerings coming along. Usually Chanel has their quads around for awhile so I should be able to pick up down the road.
Blurry mauve has caught my eye. The green quad is gorgeous but I’m sure I have a close dupe for it in the Bobbi Brown Camouflage palette that came out last year and which I wore almost nonstop after receiving it.
I’m really liking the smoldering blue-grays in Blurry Blue. I love the bright teal and jungle green liners, too. It looks like a pretty solid collection, overall.
I agree, Rachel. Some Chanel collections this year have seemed not that coherent, but this one is really satisfying somehow.
Chanel Blurry Grey looks like a better, matte version of Chanel Prelude that was bad in the European version.
It always baffles me how Chanel releases these beautiful eyeshadows in sleek, luxurious feeling packaging but gives us those crappy swab-like applicators. Could they not be bothered to at least give the people two different shapes for the applicators?
