Chanel Summer 2012 Makeup Collection

Chanel Summer 2012 Makeup Collection

As longer days and warm, breezy nights herald the start of Summer, Chanel embraces the season and all the vibrant makeup hues it inspires. In the Summer 2012 Collection, SUMMERTIME DE CHANEL, Peter Philips, Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, replicates the natural glow of sunbathed skin with luminous bronze, gold and copper tones. Playing up a radiant complexion: season-perfect lip shades, from fresh pastels to bright corals.

Soleil Tan de Chanel / Luminous Bronzing Powder ($60.00) (Limited Edition)

Two bronzers — each comprised of seven unique shades, including a luminous gold — lend subtle hints of warmth and shimmer to every complexion. A soft peach palette brings a fresh glow to lighter skin, while a deeper pink harmony lends radiance to darker tones. Blended together, the shades create a seamless bronzing effect; used on their own, the gold powders illuminate the complexion, while the darker shades sculpt the face when gently swept along its natural contours.

Why? Why must you do this, when I just bought 3 (THREE!) Chanel nail polishes the other week. *shakes fist* I just hope they are horrible, horrible and I’ll not want any.

Yeah, who am I kidding? 🙂

Huum so strange, Chanel says available in May but the Chanel counter at Macy’s has had it out for awhile and is pretty much sold out. I purchased the En Vogue coco shine a couple of weeks ago if not longer! Very fun bright color!

Wow – love the new set up Christine! I think the peach eyeliner might be cool for something different on the lower lashline.

Can anyone tell me what to do so I don’t get a dozen “livefyre” email updates every hour of comments posted here ?  I realize there must be some setting or maybe I shouldn’t have given my email address when I first posted when “livefyre” was installed here but I thought I had no choice. Can anyone help me out?

@Christine (Temptalia) Thanks, Christine. I managed to find my profile and edit it (see, I really AM a Luddite when it comes to stuff like this).

I would really love to see this collection swatched on the hand and tried on on the face, from bronzer through nail polishes.  Will you be pursuing that in future posts?   Hope so!

All those coppers makes it sounds like this collection leans warm-toned.  My wallet would certainly appreciate it if it was.  😛

does the stripe color go all the way to the bottom? or just on top (like frosting on a cake) I love the Chanel compacts, but the brozners currently in the stores are too dusty brown for me..I have a lot of pink in my skin

I purchased both the peach eye pencil and the eye shadow duo from this collection and LOVE them. My eyes have never looked prettier and more polished, the quality of the products definitely show. If you like neutrals and have fairer yellow/ olive (not pink) undertone skin, this will be a very flattering collection for you.

I have fair NC20 skin with deep set blue eyes (Swedish) so I have trouble with dark eye makeup. Although the peach eye pencil is subtle, it works. You don’t necessarily see the makeup, you just see prettier, brighter eyes. I agree with the reviews about the peach pencil being hard at first, having to press hard for color at first. However, I found after I used it once it softened up quickly.
