Chanel Rosy Light Drops Le Blanc Highlighting Fluid Review & Swatches

Rosy Light Drops

Chanel Rosy Light Drops Le Blanc Highlighting Fluid ($50.00 for 1 oz.) is a pale pink with very fine, pearl throughout that had a lightly dewy, luminous sheen for its finish. It had sheer to semi-sheer coverage that was buildable to semi-sheer to medium at best, but it was described as a “sheer liquid highlighter” so it lived up to expectations.

The brand said that the liquid highlighter could be “worn alone or layered over makeup,” which I also found to be accurate; it applied evenly and sat well on bare skin as well as patted over base products (like liquid foundation) without lifting them up. The thinner, lightweight, and very fluid consistency (but not watery–like a very thin gel-cream) and when coupled with the sheerer coverage, made it usable mixed in with a base product (like a moisturizer, primer, or foundation) for an all-over glow.

It had a very pearlescent sheen that was noticeable in moderate to bright lighting (particularly illuminating in the sun) that didn’t look overtly shimmery after it dried down, and that smooth sheen gave it a dewier look despite drying down. It stayed no well for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.

It has a noticeable, though not strong, rosy scent.

It’s a very subtle shade and would add a soft focus to your cheeks I would think. Being able to be added to a day time moisturiser, light foundation or primer makes this product quite versatile for summer. Very pretty too.

I like this only in that other drops seem to tend towards warm.. so when added to my foundation for extra glow.. never works with my complexion. Shifts my foundation in the wrong direction.. I’m rather interested..

I love icy pink highlighters. Oh no, I just counted and I have a least seven different ones from cream to liquid to powders!?

At my age, strong highlighters just don’t flatter the way they used to and yet I still like to emphasize my pronounced cheekbones. This is a stunning—albeit subtle—option in a smooth-as-silk formula that adds a soft pearlescent glow. I apply it in the classic “C” and find that it captures the light in a way that enlivens my complexion and draws attention to my eyes and cheekbones without being obvious.

How lovely!
So many highlighters are too warm for me, or too glittery, or there’s something else that makes me not like them as much as I had hoped.
This one seems to be a very food option. It is expensive, as everything Chanel, but could be worth the cost.
I rather like the little bottle, very understated, quite elegant.
I suppose it would last quite a long time, so maybe. It’s on the wish list so I’ll not forget it.
