The Joues Contraste formula is supposed to have “buildable coverage, from natural to dramatic” with a “flattering radiance” and “silky texture.” It’s not a new shade by any means (it’s been around for years), but having loved a few of the recent shades Chanel’s added over the last year, I bought this one with my last Chanel order (the spring collection). The texture is soft and blendable, though I found it dusty and less smooth compared to other Chanel powder blushes–I think it has little bits of larger-sized sparkle that contribute (at least partially) to that feeling. On the skin, it blended out without trouble and yielded a soft, satiny sheen. The coverage is semi-sheer to semi-opaque, buildable without much effort and layered without becoming patchy or powdery. The color wore well for seven and a half hours on me.

Oh, that’s beautiful! I only wish Chanel would just eliminate that brush (which we never use anyway) and either make it cheaper or put more product in it. Having said that, I’m really tempted to grab this!

I’ve recently fallen for Chanel Blushes, I have Golden Sun and Alezane and love them both. I definitely want more of these though I don’t really need another blush (HA!). I have a question for you and anyone else who owns Chanel blushes/powders. Do you guys find that they tend to form “hard pan” after using a few times? I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I use clean brushes, I thought maybe synthetic bristles were the problem so I actually bought a Goss brush, and I’m still having the same problem. It’s not so bad on the blushes, but on my Le Beiges Powder it’s awful. I have to scrape of the top, or use sticky tape, almost every time I use it. I haven’t heard anyone else mention this so I was just wondering if any of you had experienced the same thing. It’s not a big deal to swipe or scrape off the top layer, but I mean these are expensive and I feel like I’m wasting a lot of products this way.

I haven’t noticed this on the ones I’ve used more often (like Jersey) myself, though I’ve seen slight hardening on various spots (but not over the whole thing) more metallic highlighters over time (generally), including one of my Chanel powders from the last two years. Have you tried using a scratchier brush just to loosen and then use the excess product? Not ideal, obviously, but you might waste less at least.

i haven’t noticed on my blushes but it did happen for the les beiges and it pised me off so i switched to guerlain 4 seasons bronzer and that is even worse. I think i’m gonna try dior next.

I have this shade; it’s a good one. It’s been one of my go-to blush shades for a few years now. But I do agree that Alezane is better 🙂
