Chanel Pourpre Etoile & Brun Celeste Rouge Allure Velvet La Cometes Reviews & Swatches
Pourpre Etoile (168)
Chanel Pourpre Etoile (168) Rouge Allure Velvet La Comete ($40.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deep, reddish-berry with subtle, cool undertones and a satin sheen with faint pink micro-sparkle. The consistency was lightweight, more velvety than creamy, and thin, though it didn’t cling and was forgiving of lip texture and lip lines. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation that lasted nicely for five and a half hours and felt hydrating over time.

Brun Celeste (178)
Chanel Brun Celeste (178) Rouge Allure Velvet La Comete ($40.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deep, purplish-brown with strong, cool undertones and a satin sheen. It had medium color coverage, which was hard to build up as it was prone to catching on imperfections, settling into lip lines, and clumping along the inner area of my lip.
The consistency itself did not feel particularly amiss, as it was lightly emollient, thin, and comfortable to apply and to wear, but I could not get it to sit well on my lips. This shade stayed on decently for four hours on me but settled into my lip lines worse over time.

Pourpre Etoile is exactly my type of beautiful berry lipstick. I suppose that’s why I one a super close dupe in MAC Elle Belle. Now that I have KN95 masks, I can finally use it again since those don’t touch the mouth or mouth area at all.
Brun Celeste is a shade that I would imagine would work out okay for someone with darker and/or browner lips. Probably as a nude shade for richer skintones, too.
I once bought a UD lipstick (Backdoor?) and it turned the Brun Celeste shade on me – one of my big lipstick fails. Not a fan of either of these two shades and certainly expensive for the ratings.
Pourpre Etoile is lovely. I have Maybelline Plum for Me, while not a very close dupe it’s a lipstick I use quite often, and I really like it.
A pity Brun Celeste didn’t apply as well as the better lipsticks from this release. I don’t often wear brownish lipsticks, but I really like this colour.
168 is gorgeous. Was a time I only wore that shade of lipstick. As I’m getting older they look matronly on me. That’s a beaut ♥️
Brun celeste is…..interesting…It looks really cheap in the close up with those flecks of glitter, but I like the color in the swatch.
I just love a deep berry lipstick, so 168 is the pick of the collection for me. It looks so sophisticated.
