Chanel Poudre Signee de Chanel Illuminating Powder Review, Photos, Swatches
Chanel Poudre Signee de Chanel Illuminating Powder
Chanel Poudre Signee de Chanel Illuminating Powder ($68.00 for 0.28 oz.) is described as a “sheer highlighting powder” that creates a “soft pink powder” that can be used to “reflect light with a delicate luminosity.” It’s a pale beige with a soft hint of pink and a golden shimmer-sheen. As described, it’s a soft, sheer powder that works best when dusted over the high planes of the face. Chantecaille Les Petales de Rose is significantly pinker and has a finer shimmer/sheen.
MAC Lightscapade is whiter, cooler-toned. theBalm Promiscuous Pearl is more frosted. Chanel Beiges Ombres Tissees is more frosted/metallic but close in color.
Poudre Signee de Chanel is lightly warmed-up, but it has a little pink and beige mix that makes it slightly different than the recent highlighters I’ve reviewed, which have been really pink or really beige in comparison. It gives skin a soft, warm glow that’s not too shimmery, frosted, or metallic. The powder itself is finely-milled with a shimmer-sheen finish, so it’s not completely subtle, but it’s not so shimmery that it emphasizes pores. It sits well on the skin and is easy to blend out and apply to the skin. When I wore this, it lasted seven hours at full-power but looked a little faded after eight hours of wear.

It’s pretty and not too over the top! I can really see it’s effect in the second photo! I don’t own anything by Chanel but maybe one day 🙂
OMG beautiful ! I will purchase it, it’s really classy !
I’m so glad you have this review up! I need this powder! So beautiful!
The embossing is so gorgeous on this powder. It’s really a thing of beauty. I think I may still be leaning toward the Chantecaille, for it’s refined application, though.
This is a gorgeous white gold highlighter with a hint of pink. Swept in the classic “C” formation, it is stunning. It blends out beautifully and is daytime appropriate. Anyone who liked Lumière Perlée from Chanel’s Le Blanc collection two years ago, will love this one. It isn’t a dupe, but it is in the same vein. This is also lovely when lightly swept on the décolletté.
So pretty! Still debating whether I want this one or the Chantecaille Rose Petales. Which do you think would look better on beige skin with yellow undertones?
I think either works, truly – Rose Petales is going to be subtler, finer, more of a sheen and glow than shimmer.
U loook gorgeous esp in the second pic..! can you tell me this ll look good on NC42 or will it turn ashy?? also is this close to any guerlain meteorites? Thanks!
Shontay commented that it didn’t turn ashy on her, and she’s NC45 🙂 This is more shimmery than Guerlain Meteorites overall!
I love this color, it looks grand on you, so very beautiful.
Oh so beautiful and it really suits you!
May I ask what foundation/powder are you wearing? Your skin looks even more (if that’s even possible)flawless and glowy than ever. Thanks!
Guerlain Parure de Lumiere + Guerlani Wulong!
Beautiful!
Christine, Did you apply the Wulong *over everything, over highlighter? How far down do you apply your foundation? Because yours Always looks flawless! 😀
I used it as a setting powder 🙂 I apply foundation underneath my jawline but not down my neck, and to my hair line.
Thanks Christine! Nice to know! (About the foundation application) 🙂
Are you liking the Lumiere over the Lingerie foundation? Because it looks divine!
I’m not sure yet! I like it, but some days I like it more than others!
I think I just fell in love with this palette. I mean, wow, just wow!
This looks gorgeous. I am wanting it more than is healthy, methinks!
I’m NC45 and this isn’t ashy on me at all. So, for anyone who’s shade goes as deep as me, don’t be afraid.
I just came to ask Christine what you have already answered:) I am NC 42 though.
Thanks Shontay! 🙂
NC40 here!
Thanks, Shontay! The really matte white base made me worried it would be chalky.
Is it similar to MAC Vanilla Pigment?
Vanilla is very shimmery and almost has a duotone to it.
So lovely!
Beautiful! These are such lovely pictures of you!
DEFINITELY getting this…and the Frivole blush. I’m so glad this one isn’t too cool or pink. It’s perfect and is different from all my very warm or beige highlighters at home!
I bought this on impulse last night, don’t ask me why, but I’m pleased it performs as well as I hoped 🙂 Does it come with the brush, Christine?
It comes with this thing: http://www.temptalia.com/images/spring2013/chanel_poudresignee006.jpg
Lovely! Which highlighters in your opinion are your favs/ better than this one that does not enlarge pores. Thanks!
Guerlain’s and Chantecaille’s have been the very best in regards to not enlarging pores. There are a lot that don’t – but those two are particularly noteworthy.
This is going on my Christmas list! And btw Christine I think those earrings are precious!
Which one do you prefer, this or Dior’s Amber Diamond?
Probably this one – though neither is my all-time favorite highlighter!
So which is your all-time favorite highlighter? I used to think it is Dior Amber Dimond. ^^
Guerlain Parure de Nuit!
I’m in love with the embossing, but that’s about it. I already have a few HG illuminating/ highlighting powders in my stash, which are also permanant, so I feel I safely pass on this. I’ve also made a decision recently to cut way down on LE products, unless they *really* knock my socks off.
Thanks for the detailed review and lovely pictures! I know you said that this might turn ashy on darker skin tones but for fairer East Asian skin, would you recommend the Chantecaille highlighter over this? Thanks for your help!
Either one will work on your skin tone – Chantecalle is a subtler/finer sheen!
Thank you so much! Happy holidays!
is it only available at nordstrom or will it get in stock in other stores too (uk-stores?). i want this soooo bad, looks georgeous on you xx
Should be at all Chanel counters!
Christine, how does the color and texture of this powder compare to the Guerlain Cruel Gardenia highlighter? The Guerlain is my HG, and I need to find a dupe! 🙂
The color is much more beige, not so pink, and the texture has more shimmer, less sheen. Lancome’s highlighter for the holidays is similar 🙂
Hello!
Is this highlighter similar to dior amber shimmer? I bought dior amber few days ago and im not sure if i should go for this one?
Thank you!
This is lighter 🙂
Any thoughts on how this would wear on oily skin?
I think it would be just fine!
I picked both this and the Chantecaille one that you recently reviewed. But if you were to pick one, which one would you choose and why… 🙂 Thank you!
Chantecaille – it is a finer shimmer/sheen.
Christine, I’ve just missed, did you wear the powder all over the face or only over the high planes?
Just the cheeks!
Hi Christine!
I’d like to buy an illuminatineg, setting powder, to use all over the face. I was thinking about meteorites perles Guerlain…but then I saw also this product…so now I am a bit undecided. Still Chanel poudre signee seems more an highlighter to me than an illuminating powder to use all over the face (even if the lady at the counter said it can be used all over, and is a finishing powder, actually).
I have tons of highlighters (soft & gentle Mac, Cruel gardenia guerlain…), so now I was looking to a more subtle product, to use all over the face (and possibly also to set a bit the make up). what do you suggest to me? THANKS A LOT!!!
Hi Cate!
This is more of a highlighter, IMO! Meteorites ar better as a finishing powder 🙂
Christine, how do you think this would work on fair (but pretty neutral), dry skin? It looks so, so, so lovely on you in this picture and in the swatches.
I think it would work! 🙂
I’m wanting to buy either one which would you say is overall better highlighter? P.s I’m nc30 in mac. Thanks!
Petals de Rose!
