Chanel Or Joues Contraste / Blush ($43.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a yellowed gold with a subtle, satin sheen. Chanel describes it as a “sheer, lightly shimmering shade of gold to bring a subtle new luminosity to the face.” It looks more shimmery in the pot than it does on–it’s not glittery or heavy. On my skin tone, I don’t find that it really adds much–it’s a touch of warmth, at best, accompanied by a glowy reflection. As a highlighting product, it’s good but not the best on the market. It’s a blush that would work well for layering over other shades to add golden shimmer. I liked that it delivered a sheen without an abundance of shimmer, and as far as golds go, it’s surprisingly demure.
Joues Contrastes don’t wear superbly on my skin–they last six to eight hours but rarely past that–but they tend to easy to blend and look natural applied. I might have had some blending issues with Rouge, but Or was a cinch to apply to high planes of the face and cheeks.
Chanel Shimmering Tweed is similar but a little more bronzed, and it has a chunkier glitter/shimmer in its finish. MAC Sun Rush is more of an orange-gold, but on, I think they’re very similar. Chanel’s Or is going to be subtler, because it has less of a sheen.

For $43, it’s sort of a pricey highlighter. Stila Gold Finishing Powder would basically do the same thing.
I see many didn`t care for this when voting, but I really do think it complimented your skin in such a subtle and lovely way! I can see it on your skin but if you hadn`t told us what you had on, I would just thought to my self: What a pretty golden sheen, what is that?? I want my skin to look like that too!
…but the price…SHEESH..that is another story…but that is Chanel for ya… 😛

This shade just has to be a repromote of Joues Contraste Powder Blush 47 ELDORADO. I hit pan on that one ages ago, but still have a tiny bit left. From the photos, looks to be the EXACT SAME.
I must say, I’m liking this Guerlain foundation on you better than the MUFE.

Pass on this because I already have Gold Fever from a few years ago. Same color, same brand, same formula, different name. It is a fun highlighter.
At that price I expected more of a punch. Will pass on this one.

I swatched this today & the surface was hard not soft @ all! I was hoping it would be smooth like other Chanel blushes. I purchased In love blush & Topkapi eyeshadow palette which is so gorgeous!!!
Was it new or was it at a counter? If it’s at a counter, people touching it with their fingers means that oil is being absorbed into the product and will harden the product over time.
It was @ a counter but it was under a glass case. They got the collection in yesterday so its new. I’ve heard that the European versions of the blushes are not smooth as the US versions?
No idea – I have only tested U.S. blushes. I’ve tested maybe 1 or 2 European quads, but nothing else.
I want to like this, but it has a bit of a jaundiced look IMO. Christine you are gorgeous though!
