Chanel Lueurs Ambrees (314) Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
Lueurs Ambrees (314)
Chanel Lueurs Ambrees (314) Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow ($61.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a new, (seemingly) permanent warm-toned quad featuring a mid-tone brown, peach, gold, and beige. The quality was decent across the board but could have been better with a couple of shades.

Lueurs Ambrees (314)
PPermanent. $70.00.
Lueurs Ambrees #1
Lueurs Ambrees #1 is a medium brown with warm undertones and a fine, golden sheen. It had opaque pigmentation with a smooth, blendable texture that was silky to the touch but not powdery. The eyeshadow stayed on well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Lueurs Ambrees #2
Lueurs Ambrees #2 is a light-medium peach with strong, warm orange undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good pigmentation, though it needed a second layer for full coverage as it sheered out a bit too quickly when I worked with it over bare skin. It lasted for just over seven and a half hours on me before I noticed signs of wear.

Lueurs Ambrees #3
Lueurs Ambrees #3 is a sparkling, peachy gold with warm undertones. It had semi-sheer pigmentation that was buildable to semi-opaque coverage with a second layer, but it was best used with a dampened brush, as it applied with nearly opaque pigmentation in one layer and went on more smoothly. The consistency felt soft to the touch, smooth, and not at all powdery and wasn’t prone to fallout. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me before it started to fade.

Lueurs Ambrees #4
Lueurs Ambrees #4 is a light, yellowed beige with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had good pigmentation with a smooth, velvety consistency that was denser and a little powdery, though it had surprisingly good adherence to bare skin (often these types of mattes sheer out considerably). There was a bit of fallout, and the flatness of the finish didn’t seem to combine as well with the three more shimmery shades–it was a little too flat, I think (observation that has no impact on rating). It stayed on nicely for seven and a half hours before it started to fade on me.

I love easy wearing shades like this. Will be picking this, the tweed blush and the powder up when I’m at a Chanel counter.
Nice enough but really nothing special especially in consideration of the price. It would/could be a nice basic work appropriate/work travel palette for anyone who doesn’t have a large collection but, honestly, for my money, I’d sooner get Smashbox’s Minimalist Covershot palette (about half the price for 8 shadows).
Largely how I felt – for the right person, I could see it working well enough, but even Chanel’s existing permanent quads have similar neutral combos that work even better!
I find myself not being too impressed with this latest offering from Chanel. For a start, the ratings are pretty average for such an expensive quad and secondly, all of the shades are easily duped. I think shades 2 & 3 are faily similar to each other, once on the eye and in a quad there needs to be some more contrast between the shades to make it special.
Thank you for reviewing this quad Christine, there are lots of Chanel fans out there and this one, I think, is pretty basic.
Had to look up what Lueur meant. Glow. Not excited by this. We’re it good, i’d say nice shiny beginner quad. But what beginner receives Chanel quads? I could make side eyes/comments about the college admissions scandal, but won’t, lol.
Not *horrible*, but nothing to write home about, either. Also, very easy to pull dupes from my stash, if I so desired to go this soft and muted. I would imagine that many of us do have shades like these.
I got this an absolutely love it. It’s extremely easy and fast to use. Pigmented but not so much that you really have to worry if you are not precise with what you are doing. It’s meant to provide a luminous, light look and it really does that. Very springy and not overdone. I actually love the one matte shade. I use it to prime and add the shimmery shades on top.
This is a very late reply but just received my quad and wanted to let you know it is everything you said it was. It produces a delicate crystalline look that brings a soft light to the eyes—springtime in a palette and very much in keeping with the aesthetic behind Chanel’s Asian Le Blanc collections. Not everyone is all about bold, technicolor palettes or intense pigments. Some of us prefer softer more subtle (and to my mind, more refined) looks. It’s nice to have a choice. Different strokes for different folks ?
