Your skin tone/coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, salt & pepper hair
Last product that disappointed you? MAC See Sheer Lipstick. I bought this one sometime last year, but never wear it. I decided to use it yesterday, since it matched my shirt. Beautiful shade, but it feathered out of my lip line so badly—even with lip liner—that I wound up taking it off halfway through the day. (Any helpful advice to avoid this problem is welcome!)
Last product that impressed you? The new MAC Soar lipstick I got through my recent Back-to-MAC. Very pretty shade!
Last product you resisted? Colourpop Just My Luck eye palette. It’s so pretty, but I really, really don’t need it (or any other palette, tbh).
Your skin tone/coloring: lt to med, red u/ts. Mufe R230 as mix-in today.
Last product that disappointed you? vaguely disappointed with SG blush in Always and forever. It looks taupey or purpley in the pan, and on the dark side. The pan looks fairly like that in natural daylight, and warmer/pinker in night/room lighting. It’s way on the light side of medium, and is the Emperor’s New Blush. I have to build like Donald Trump to see it. Even tried putting it over HL. Plus, it’s a bit powdery and fly away, compared to the fabulous e/s from the brand. Def a pick for the no m/u days and sites!
Last product that impressed you? This week, have used Zoeva Mastery Of Chocolate, the darker in the HL duo in the Cocoa Blend family. It’s a shimmer blush on me, somewhat duo, with light Taupe/bronze as the base, and kind of a peach as the shift, at least on me. At least you can bloody see it!
Last product you resisted? Everything, but notably the Nars and ND blush palettes. Have NOT resisted SG e/s, but am a bit leery of more blush. I’d love to see that one on Christine, just to confirm what I suspect: it’s too close to my s/t to work.
I got Always & Forever in my last SG order, and I completely agree. It’s very light and smooth but I’m still not sure what colour it actually is! I thought it would be a lilacky mauve and a bit cooler then Time Stops (which is lovely!) but it doesn’t work as a blush for me in any way, shape or form!
Summer Love, Day Dream and Mauve Delight are also excellent, just FYI 🙂
Your skin tone/coloring: very fair with pink undertones
Last product that disappointed you? Some of the Bad Habit palettes. I bought them in their super sale on the Hush app.
Last product that impressed you? Viseart Coy and Colourpop It’s My Pleasure…
Last product you resisted? Resistance is futile…j/k. I didn’t let myself buy Riviera because it’s so similar in color to lots of other palettes I have. I also resisted the Jessica Rabbit lipstick…I wanted it because it rated so well and well, Jessica Rabbit, but I wouldn’t wear it. Same with the highlighter.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light medium, yellow undertones. Dark brown hair & eyes.
Last product that disappointed you? VDL Lumilayer primer – it has a very perfumey fragrance and doesn’t seem to extend the wear of my foundation. It’s a little bit glowy, but not as much as Becca Backlight so there are better options out there for me.
Last product that impressed you? The Good Molecules super peptide serum for skincare and the BH Cosmetics Opalescent palette for makeup.
Last product you resisted? It’s only temporary but I have SG Autumns’ Reign in my cart and haven’t actually bought it yet…
Your skin tone/coloring: Light neutral with a hint ‘o olive.
Last product that disappointed you? Hourglass Vanish liquid foundation
Last product that impressed you? ABH Riviera palette.
Last product you resisted? Mostly lipsticks which I place in my shopping cart and subsequently remove. I had a TF, an MJ lipstick pencil and a couple of the Charlotte Tilbury glosses which I went back and nixed. I wear very similar shades on my lips 98% of the time, there is no sense in me buying more of what I have or convincing myself I will wear something different. I don’t.
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Last product that disappointed you? I would have to say the DB foundations, simply because a) the pump doesn’t work too well and b) the shades are either too light (with neutral undertones) or the next shade up has yellowish undertones.
Last product that impressed you? There’s a few: A’kin Night time moisturiser, which works really well on my skin and you only need a very small amount (say a 10c bit) to do your whole face. The jar lasts for ages and another product I am impressed with is the Sultry palette. Just divine.
Last product you resisted? The Maybelline Metal Chrome highlighter/blush in Rose Gold. Having a little think about this, but Christine’s review of it was so good that I probably will give it a go.
Skin tone / coloring ? Med tan with neutral undertones.
Last product that disappointed me ? Kjaer Weiss lipstick , it had this weird tiny “bumpy “ texture , I mean I could still use it but….it just felt weird.
Last product that impressed me ? My cheap little Flower Beauty Wanderlust “Austin” eyeshadow palette.
Also my Pacifica “Wild Rose” blush …love?
Last product I resisted ? Natasha Denona “Gold Palette “ it’s a beauty but I have similar colors.
Skin tone: Light-medium neutral to warm
Last product that disappointed me: VDL LumiLayer Primer. This was sent to me in my Beautylish Lucky Bag. Just reading the ingredients made me cringe. I couldn’t even bear to put it on my skin after trying it once.
Last product that impressed me: La Mer Luminous Lifting Cushion Foundation in Warm Bisque 33.
Last product I resisted: Viseart Apricotine. It looks so pretty but I’m certain I can dupe those colors five times over.
Your skin tone/coloring: Fair – true neutral
Last product that disappointed you? Colourpop lipstick and gloss.
Last product that impressed you? Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless. Took buying three shades to find one that worked! Shade 110 Porcelain is a close match to Chanel’s VA B10. I actually have dry skin, but I use this sparingly or mixed with primer.
Last product you resisted? Viseart eyeshadow. I want to try a palette, but I have too many others I need two test run.
Your skin tone/coloring: By my name
Last product that disappointed you? PMG mascara. It smells like paint. I expected better for $28.
Last product that impressed you? Nyx Tinted Brow Mascara in Espresso. It covers the pale hairs in my dark brows and thickens them just enough. For $7.50, a gem
Last product you resisted? Viseart Soleil Petit Pro, but I don’t know if I can hold out.
Your skin tone/coloring: fair & warm, hazel green eyes & platinum blonde hair
Last product that disappointed you? Maybelline Age Rewind treatment concealer- despite all the glowing testimonials of this product I found it to be a bit drying and rather “meh” as far as coverage & long wear.
Last product that impressed you? Jordana Made to Last Liquid Eyeshadow in “Immortal Metal” – wonderful “one & done” eyeshadow in a beautiful (and unusual taupe/antique gold shade. Blends easily, sets in a minute, lasts all day without creasing, fallout, or bothering my sensitive eyes. It is a steal at $5 and I wants all teh colors!
Last product you resisted? Nars Bumpy Ride Blush- I love the shade, have a friend that wears it daily that looks gorgeous on her- but Nars blushes & I do not get along, they are so soft they tend to go one garishly heavy and if you drop the compact once the product shatters into dust.
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Last product that disappointed you? NYX Sprinkle Town Duo Chromatic Lip Gloss in Spark Of Magic. I love the permanent line of Duo Chromatic Lip Gloss, but this is opaque, super-frosty, and super-light. Plus, it’s really thick, and feels like I have frosting on my lips. Not what I expected at all! I guess they took the sweets theme of the collection too far. lol
Last product that impressed you? Marc Jacobs Steel(etto) palette. Mine arrived, and the shadow textures are sublime. I just want to run my fingers over them.
Last product you resisted? NARS Connor Tingley Collection
Your skin tone/coloring: Above with freckles, green/blue/gray eyes and warm brown hair
Last product that disappointed you? The Smith Cosmetics brushes, sadly. At least the two crease brushes I purchased recently. I thought they’d be… I don’t know, fluffier? They great for slightly more detailed crease work on me, but not as much for really buffing and blending eyeshadow. I have larger eyes and a lot of lid space so I like using bigger brushes for a more blown out look. I probably just need to experiment with these more.
Last product that impressed you? The ND blush palettes I just purchased. They’re glittery, and I don’t usually like glitter on my cheeks BUT, wow-ee-wow, these are absolutely stunning. Glitzy. Just lovely.
Last product you resisted? The Marc Jacobs Steel(etto) palette. But only just barely. And I’m still considering getting it. I don’t think that I need it, though, now that I have ABH Sultry and my single shadows seem to dupe the rest of the palette for me.
Oh, I thought of another product that impressed me: Derma E Collagen and Peptide Facial Moisturizer. I used it for the first time earlier this week and when I woke up my skin looked noticeably smoother and plumper. That rarely happens for me.
Skin tone/coloring: Fair-light neutral
Last product that disappointed me? Becca under eye brightening setting powder.
Last product that impressed me? Natasha Denona Bloom Blush & Glow and Cover FX Gripping Primer
Last product resisted? the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Loose Highlighter (still not sure I can).
Your skin tone/coloring: Light Olive, Fit Me 118-ish
Last product that disappointed you? Urban Decay All Nighter Concealer, even as a 50% off weekly wow didn’t want to keep it
Last product that impressed you? Pixi Silky Eye Pencils. Ah-mazing.
Last product you resisted? MAC Fleur Real pink highlighter – can’t drop the coin just for the packaging (especially with Smashbox’ Hoodwitch collab coming out, that will be my just-for-packaging highlight splurge of the year)
