Chanel Légèreté et Expérience Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
Légèreté et Expérience
Chanel Légèreté et Expérience Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow ($61.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a new, limited edition all-matte quad featuring a coral, peach, red, and mid-tone brown. All four shades were fairly pigmented and lasted between seven and eight hours, though I had some trouble diffusing and blending out the red shade. I know readers were concerned about overlap with the Candeur et Experience quad, and I think the red and brown are similar enough, but the top two shades in Candeur et Experience aren’t replicated in this quad.

Légèreté et Expérience
LELimited Edition. $70.00.
Légèreté et Expérience #1
Légèreté et Expérience #1 is a light-medium coral with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had good color coverage in a single with a smooth, velvety texture that wasn’t too powdery nor too firmly pressed in the pan. It applied evenly to bare skin and blended out easily. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me before fading.

Légèreté et Expérience #2
Légèreté et Expérience #2 is a soft peach with warm, orange undertones and a matte finish. The pigmentation was opaque, while the consistency was soft, smooth, and a touch powdery in the pan. There was some sheering out when it was blended, though. It lasted nicely for seven and a half hours on me.

LELimited Edition.
Légèreté et Expérience #3
Légèreté et Expérience #3 is a deeper, coppery red with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had a firmer, stiffer texture that made it harder to pick up product, so it wasn’t fully pigmented, and more of a challenge to apply evenly. It took extra effort to diffuse along the edges for a more seamless blend. This shade stayed on well for seven and a half hours on me.

For $61, they should all have A grades! But they do make a nice eye look.
No reason for me to buy this one. It is easy enough to use a peach from another palette or even a single along with Candeur et Experience and I often do that because all those browns worn together look muddy on me.
Hmmm – pretty jolly meh to me. The shades are far to popular and have been around for a long time for Chanel to make a quad of them. They aren’t stellar either.
LOL, Genevieve – I love that holiday put-down of “pretty jolly meh”! You said what I was thinking. In terms of both inspiration and quality, these aren’t for me. Is this the 3rd of the “et Experience” quads they’ve released? Seems to me there was another one after Candeur et Experience (which I initially thought was a repromote of the original).
LOL “Pretty jolly meh” sums it up very well.
Not feeling this one at all. Probably because I expect far more from a Chanel quad than this delivered. Plus, I have enough similar toned shades that there’s not really any need for me to get this.
Glad I couldn’t find this in store when I went looking — I have dupes for every shade, and each is better quality. Money saved.
The red doesn’t look red once it’s swatched or applied to the lid — more of a red brown. Weird, considering how red it looks in the pan.
Hey, does anyone think that Chanel brand products are going to stay the same quality now that the creative director, Karl Otto Lagerfeld, has passed? May God rest his soul. Amen.
