Chanel Frenzy Le Vernis / Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches
Chanel Frenzy Le Vernis / Nail Lacquer
Chanel Frenzy Le Vernis / Nail Lacquer ($26.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is described as a “lilac grey.” It’s a light taupe with a cream finish. There’s a little brown, little gray in it. Looks like the inside of a mushroom to me (aka it’s sooo taupe!). Zoya Farah is a little darker, browner. Essie Sand Tropez is very similar but a smidgen lighter. MAC Inert is grayer, a little darker. It’s the new nude; not beige, not mannequin hands–sophisticated and elevated. Why is taupe always so lovely? I could see this being a really nice go-to for office-appropriate nails.
It’s mostly opaque in two coats, but there is some visible nail line coming through. It does apply fairly well, though. I was expecting major streaking, but it was mostly even and very easy to control. The consistency was a nice balance of thick and thin, not going too far in either direction, so I didn’t have problems with bubbling or pooling, either. I felt like it took a little long to dry but not too much longer than usual. With Chanel’s formula, I usually get a week of wear with minor tip wear but no chipping–but very few formulas chip on me (and none really come to mind, other than matte polishes without a top coat).

I don’t know if you have the shade to compare, but this reminds me a whole lot of Deborah Lippmann’s Fashion with perhaps a touch more grey. Lovely color, but Chanel’s polish prices are too rich for my blood.
Looks extremely meh. This is one of those exceptions I will have to try myself to decide whether to buy. But gut instinct tells me this will be a Pass.
so cool 😀
This polish will give me corpse hands for sure! Nice shade if you have the right skin tone, though.
I like it but I don’t love it enough to pay 25 euros for it!!
I love complex off colours such as this that are essentially ugly for the most part.. and with a name like puce, who can go wrong. I’ll be buying this one!
This could very well be the most perfect beige nail polish, and I will likely spend the $26 price. I’m a very big fan of beige nails.
@xamyx ditto: instant understated elegance
I love the names Frenzy/Suspicious/Vertigo. I don’t buy products because ot their name ( of course lol ! ) but as I worship Hitchcock and as Chanel polishes are very good, I will maybe buy the 3. Frenzy is not my cup of tea ( nude and pale ) but why not with pretty clothes on and a pretty Chanel makeup on my face !
This would be an absolute gorgeous color for fall! I’m so tempted. But Chanel is just too darn expensive.
I’m obsessed with this neutral–I’m going to grab Essie’s Sand Tropez and see if it could possibly pass for a dupe but if not, I may finally have to bite the bullet and purchase my first high-end polish!
Pretty, but that’s how OPI Skull and Glossbones looks on me (I am a lot paler and cooler toned), except the OPI is opaque and less brown. I’m going to be passing on this one.
Can you recommend an eyeshadow that matches this color exactly? Im wearing the nail polish right now. Great office color, I agree. I havw a Nails inc color that is similar too

@Christine (Temptalia) @makeupmatters3 awesome thanls!!” I also found a similar color in my NYX nude on nude palette that was very close. I love your site its a great resource.
It looks gorgeous (and I love the name!), but it seems really similar to OPI’s “Did you ‘ear about Van Gogh” …. Not sure if I can justify owning both.
online swatches show this looking so cool, but it pulled ruddy on me and i didn’t like the lilac undertone mixed with brown. i wished it looked more grey 🙁
