Chanel Delicatesse Ombres Fleuries Eyeshadow Palette ($60.00 for 0.14 oz.) has finishes that “range from matte to satin to shimmer,” with a “smudge-proof formula [that] can be applied dry for subtle shading, or dampened for more intense colour, all with long-wearing results.”  Overall, it’s a good palette with an interesting mix of colors and textures.  When trying it out, the green shade wasn’t as smooth or as easy to use as the other three shades, as it had an almost sparkly finish that made it less inclined to smooth out and bind together.  I didn’t encounter this issue with the other shades, though, and they applied more smoothly and were easier to blend.  I wore all four shades together, and the green one was very slightly creased after eight hours, while the rest held up without creasing and had only minor fading after nine hours of wear.

Delicatesse #1 is a neutral, light-medium gray-green with a frosted, metallic finish. Applied dry, it’s semi-sheer, and applied damp, it is more opaque and has a stronger metallic sheen. Chanel Jade Shore is greener, warmer. MAC Lady Grey is darker, less shimmery. Lancome Enduring Vert is lighter. Chanel Riviere is slightly lighter less frosted. See comparison swatches.

Delicatesse #2 is a pale white with a green sheen. It had mostly opaque color payoff when applied dry and then took on a more metallic sheen with opaque color payoff when applied damp. MAC Zestful is greener. Lancome Fashion Forward is paler. Chanel Promesse #4 is similar. Sugarpill Lumi is bluer. See comparison swatches.

Delicatesse #3 is a warm, pink-coral with a soft, pearly sheen. Applied dry, it still had good color but was softer overall. Applied damp, it’s smoother and brighter. Chanel Pink Lagoon is darker. Urban Decay Scratch is darker. MAC Pink Frontier is similar. Chanel Rose de Mai is less shimmery. bareMinerals Page Six is more shimmery. See comparison swatches.

Delicatesse #4 is a warm-toned, medium-dark plum. Applied dry or damp, the color payoff was pretty good, and the texture was soft, smooth, and lightly frosted. I really didn’t see much of a difference between the two applications. Disney Master is cooler-toned. MAC Festive Delight is less shimmery. MAC Brazenly is bolder. See comparison swatches.

I like this compact, but have quite a few shadows in a similar range. The only pan I do not have a potential dupe for would be that yummy frosty grey green. I’m very attracted to it. I put in an order yesterday with Fyrinnae and chose a loose shadow that looks like it might be in a similar ballpark, but maybe a little more like sage green. Can’t wait to try it over a dark base.

I have this palette, and the trick to using it is to layer, layer, layer. All three of the lighter shades transforms into completely different shades on top of the dark plum shade. Hands down, one of the best quads Chanel has released in a long while!

Very pretty swatches, but I’m confused about Chanel’s description! “Matte to satin to shimmer” finishes? I don’t see anything even resembling a matte there! Beautiful shades, but definitely a little too much shimmer for me.

Nice.
I’m sure these shades are beautiful on green, light brown, blue eyes.I love them on you but I guess they would not suit my dark brown.
And $60!!!!Too much for s.thing that doesn’t seem VERY very very special to me :-))

However Christine thanks for your always precise, exaustive, precious job. Really useful. Really.

I love this compact, I just wish it wasn´t limited edition 🙁 . Are there any other Chanel compacts that perform well that aren´t limited edition?

ehhh..
I don’t like this color combo…
I wish they combine other shades together..
Last time a BA @ chanel showed me ’cause I was finding some eye shadows for my collection.
pretty but not unique ….
but limited edition for eye shadow palettes from Chanel are always in their best quality…

Is this closer to the American or European formula? The weight is listed as .14 oz which is about in between the two, and the pans are like the Euro quads… I just bought Raffinement in the Euro formula and actually really like it.
