Chanel Calypso Glossimer

Chanel Calypso Glossimer ($29.50 for 0.19 oz.) is a medium-dark burnt tangerine with soft gold shimmer. MAC Caqui is a bit redder and much more opaque, so it also looks more intense. MAC Knockout is darker, more vibrant, and redder. MAC Dare to Wear is more shimmery and a little lighter. Lancome Cherrywood Luxe is redder.

Calypso is semi-opaque and applies fairly evenly without settling into lip lines too noticeably.  It has a healthy glossy shine, and it wears for four and a half hours.  Chanel’s signature gloss formula is supposed to deliver shimmer and “high-shine glow” with shades that range from “sheer and natural” to “sparkling and rich.” The formula is supposed to be both comfortable and long-wearing.  The formula is moderately hydrating, and the texture isn’t too thin or too thick, lightweight, and comfortable to wear.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Wow, the whole color scheme you have there is wonderful. From the eyes to the lips to the t-shirt to the earrings, everything works so well together! 🙂

love this i normally cannot wear orange but this i can. Looks beautiful on you. will you be reviewing the brozner sable beige as well I would love to here what you think of this one!

Beautiful!! I tried this on at the counter on my hand, but was scared to put it on my face due to it orange brightness. Then I tried it on my lips paired with the Sable beige bronzer,New Sable eyeshadow duo, and new brown eyeliner… Wow! Calypso really brightened my complexion and complemented the look! I think everyone would enjoy it this summer.:-)

This looks gorgeous on you! Mine should arrive tomorrow and I can’t wait to see how it looks on my skin tone in comparison. It’s always fun to see how lip products look so different on us yet you never stop causing me lemmings! LOL

Christine, i think this is one of my absolute favorite looks you’ve did. The eye makeup is perfect, and the gloss looks great on  you. Tempted to get it. 😡 but 30$ for a lip gloss seems so expensive. x__X

Oh, I’m really loving the color combination/whole ensemble you’ve got going on in this review. You look so fresh, and ready for summer 🙂

Ooooh, I’m going to have to check out this lipgloss.

Sidenote: Christine, LOVE the earrings! I’m going to have to attempt to recreate this look.

I don’t know if you read old comments, but how does this compare to Guerlain Terracotta gloss in “Mambo”, in your opinion? I just don’t know what I’ll do when I get through mine! 🙂
