Chanel Blurry Grey (322) Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
Blurry Grey (322)
Chanel Blurry Grey (322) Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow ($62.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a new, seemingly permanent (it’s not listed as limited edition on the brand’s website) quad featuring cooler, smokier neutrals with two mattes and two more shimmery shades. I found that the longevity was a little shy of average, so I’d encourage those interested to be sure to use primer underneath to minimize the chance of fading, but the eyeshadows were pigmented, blendable, and easy to work with.

PPermanent. $70.00.
Blurry Grey #1
Blurry Grey #1 is a light taupe with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. It appeared darker (and grayer) applied than it did in the pan but had opaque coverage. The consistency was soft, finely-milled, and a smidgen powdery in the pan but applied evenly to bare skin and blended out nicely. It stayed on well for seven and a half hours before fading slightly.

Blurry Grey #2
Blurry Grey #2 is a deep taupe with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out without trouble. The texture was soft, smooth, and not too firmly nor too softly pressed. It wore well for eight hours on me before showing signs of fading.

Blurry Grey #3 is a muted, plummy taupe with subtle, cool undertones and a satin sheen. The color coverage was opaque in one layer, while the eyeshadow had a smooth, velvety texture that was silky and finely-milled without being powdery. It applied evenly and blended out nicely on my skin. This shade lasted well for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Blurry Grey #4
Blurry Grey #4 is a bright, gold-leaning pewter with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had rich color payoff that adhered well to bare skin with a smooth, even application that blended easily along the edges. The texture was soft, a smidgen powdery in the pan (but not prone to sheering out or having fallout during application), and finely-milled. It stayed on nicely for seven and a half hours before I noticed any fading.

Nice, if not particularly earth shattering. I think this would make a nice travel quad also. Nice neutral shades that apply well and are work appropriate. You can always add a pop of colour and for me, I would need a matte brow bone shade but both are easily found. I hope this is permanent.
This was the one that I fell for. Now that I’ve read the review and looked through the dupes plus your eye look, I do believe that I have more than enough shades around here to get something very much along these lines. So, I think I may have just talked myself out of it. I hope.
This is absolutely gorgeous to my eyes. Do I need more neutrals? Absolutely not! So I won’t be getting it, but I do think I’ll make myself a little neutrals palette with my singles tonight.
This is gorgeous! I hope I can dupe it.
Definitely a very cool smoky look. But again, apart from the finishes, I thought that shades 2 & 3 were very similar (I thought this about 2 of yesterday’s shades as well). I felt that quad needed a lighter taupe than the darker shade 3 – like a UD Mushroom kind of colour.
Anyway, it is pretty and rates well. Love your eye look too Christine.
Genevieve…I LOVE Urban Decay Mushroom. I’ll add it to my own dupes palette ?
I know others will find this boring, but this is so me. Between Make Up For Ever, MAC, and Urban Decay I have enough dupes. Beautiful look you created Christine.
Put my comment in the wrong spot! I love the look you’ve done with this quad, Christine. This is the sort of look I always enjoy seeing as it’s the sort of look I enjoy wearing and like best. I may have to take extreme measures to get this quad…or grab a bunch of my dupes!
Beautiful but grossly overpriced.
Definitely not something that grabs my attention in the pan. Yet, the swatches look good, and I love the look you created with it!
Lovely shades of warm greys/cool browns, but two of the colors are too close … naturally.
I am finally in a place with a Shoppers that carries Chanel and picked this up yesterday, buying it both discounted 20% and paying the balance with my points. I’ve not used it yet (staying in an Airbnb without the lighting and mirror set up I need for happy results so I’m waiting to get home to use it. Right now, I’m contenting myself with staring at it’s beautifully neutral, cool loveliness!
First of all, thanks for your review, dear Christine!
Regarding that quad: Well, I’ve tried to convince myself for approx. two months that I certainly don’t need that one.
Couldn’t get it out of my head. Just bought it. And I already love it! Blends very nicely (I consider myself not very skilled, plus I have rather hooded eyes), really easy to work with. I’m in love 🙂
