Chanel Bliss & Tocade Glossimers Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Chanel Bliss (181) Glossimer
Chanel Bliss (181) Glossimer ($29.50 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is a medium, pinky-coral with subtle gold shimmer. Applied, it looks much lighter and milkier with semi-opaque color coverage. It doesn’t even look sparkly! The color lasted for four hours and was lightly hydrating. MAC Modest (P, $22.00) is lighter. MAC Lovingly Yours (P, $22.00) is lighter. MAC Be Nice (P, $22.00) is darker. Bobbi Brown Nectar (LE, $24.00) is very similar. MAC Nectarsweet (LE, $20.00) is sheerer. MAC Persistent Peach (P, $19.50) is lighter, more opaque. See comparison swatches.
Chanel Tocade (182) Glossimer ($29.50 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark, fuchsia-berry with cool undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff, but the gloss didn’t apply as evenly as desired–it looked a little splotchy, though thankfully it wasn’t too noticeable from afar. It was comfortable wear, mostly non-sticky, lightly hydrating, and lasted for five hours. MAC Fashion Perk (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, more muted, warmer. Milani Ravish Raspberry (06) (P, $5.49) is cooler-toned, brighter. Giorgio Armani #523 (P, $29.00) is more opaque, brighter. NARS Mexican Rose (P, $24.00) is more muted. NARS Penny Arcade (LE, $26.00) is slightly darker. MAC Colour Saturation (LE, $20.00) is very similar. See comparison swatches.

Yay, a review for Tocade! I’ve been admiring it since I read you wore it on your NARS Contour Blush reviews. It’s too bad the color didn’t apply evenly, but the color itself is really pretty.
At least it’s not very noticeable from afar, lol!
True, and it doesn’t have enough opacity to look like a total mess, either.
Really?? a “B” for Tocade? that doesn’t seem like a fair evaluation of such a sheer, patchy color.
Glossimers are supposed to be a sheerer formulation (they aren’t opaque glosses; the brand pretty much leaves room in their descriptions to allow for sheer and semi-opaque gloss), so pigmentation wasn’t an issue – the texture, overall quality, and application were where the shade lost points (-3 for quality, -1.5 for texture, -1 for application), but it wore longer than the average gloss, which helped to mitigate some of the points lost elsewhere, while being comfortable to wear, hydrating, etc.. Please understand that I take rating products very, very seriously and have over 50 characteristics that I consider when assigning a score to a product and each has a maximum +/- amount of points – I have no problem if you disagree or feel that certain things should be rated as automatic Fs (that’s why having lots of blogs is great – we are all going to weight certain things higher/lower based). I think I’m very fair and honest with my reviews – I don’t arbitrarily throw out numbers and call it a day – a lot of work, thought, and attention has been paid to create a system that is as objective as I can make it (and is consistently applied to all products I review).
I like bliss!
Yay!
I think you may have used the same name for both reviews in the intro, they both say bliss
Fixed! Thanks!
I liked tocade better shadewise! just wish it applied a bit more even
It would be so gorgeous if it applied perfectly!
Both are beautiful! I don’t really think Tocade looks splotchy up close either. Unless you’re like all in it lol. I still want it!
LOL! I’m so used to seeing things wayyyy closer than you ever see them in real life.
Bliss is very nice!
It is!
Hehe, one of the reasons I love semi-sheer lipsticks and glosses so much is that if it does apply unevenly (or I did a rush job at applying it), it’s usually less noticeable than with more pigmented ones!
Hence, I think Tocade is still great because of the colour and overall effect. It’s true though that if you’re going to pay Chanel prices, you might hope for an easier application, lol!
That is a very good point!
Oh Bliss, why are you so pretty?
It’s so wearable and nice for spring.
Pretttyyyy on u dear 🙂
Considering ur review I need 523 in my life
nowwwwwwww

Awww, but that’s the joy of permanent products – you don’t have to rush!

Christine thank you for this review. I appreciate the thought and care you put into each review and it is nice to see honest reviews! I wanted both of these, but now that I see that and the reviews they are not “musts”
Thank you, Janelle!
What blush are you wearing in the bliss swatch picture? I love how it look!
Hi Kanel!
It’s Tarte True Love! Just as a heads up, you’ll usually find the info after the last photo in the post:
THE MAKEUP LOOK
On face: Guerlain Parure de Lumiere Foundation, Guerlain Les Voilettes Loose Powder, Tarte True Love Blush. On lips: Chanel Bliss Glossimer. (For Bliss)
Bliss looks really good. I personally love Chanel lipglosses so will give both a try when I next go to a Chanel counter.
What’s your all-time favorite Chanel gloss?
Crushed Cherry Glossimer 🙂
Very pretty! Tocade is my favorite of the two, but they are both so nice!
Yay! 🙂 Glad you liked ’em!
Tocade is so so lovely on you Christine! I think I need this. Oh no.
Thank you, Ella!
Beautiful colors! Bliss is lovely on you though a tad pale for my skin tone. Tocade would have been my pick but its disappointing how it goes a little uneven on the lips.
Thank you, Ankita! 🙂
I really like Bliss!
Yay!
