Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss ($34.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a new formula that’s supposed to be pigmented like a lipstick with the glossiness you’d expect from gloss, while hydrating lips. I reviewed three shades yesterday, and I definitely think these shades performed better. They were more pigmented, applied more smoothly, and lasted a little longer. The formula is semi-opaque to mostly opaque, wears four to six hours, is lightly hydrating, and slightly tacky. It has a floral scent but no discernible taste to me.

Chanel Affriolant (13) Rouge Allure Gloss ($34.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a brightened, pink-coral with warm undertones and very fine, cooler-toned pink shimmer. It had mostly opaque color coverage and applied evenly with very slight settling, which wasn’t noticeable except very close-up and magnified. This shade wore well for five hours on me. Dior Rieuse (373) (P, $35.00) is warmer. Dior Magique (479) (P, $35.00) is brighter, pinker. NARS Stella (P, $26.00) is more muted. YSL Grenade Pepite (No. 15) (P, $32.00) is darker, cooler-toned. MAC Drawn in Chic (LE, $15.00) is less shimmery. MAC Fever Isle (LE, $20.00) is similar. MAC Star Quality (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Chanel Extase (16) Rouge Allure Gloss ($34.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a medium pink with warm undertones and very subtle micro-shimmer (it’s quite sparse). It had semi-opaque color coverage that went on somewhat evenly, but the sheerer nature of this made it look less perfect applied compared to Affriolant. It wore well for four and a half hours on me. Illamasqua Follow (DC, $22.00) is darker, brighter. Paul and Joe Beaute Carnaval (06) (P, $29.00) is lighter. Maybelline Captivating Carnation (080) (P, $8.99) is cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Chanel Supreme (17) Rouge Allure Gloss ($34.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a brightened, medium-dark fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and very fine white micro-shimmer. It had semi-opaque color payoff that went on fairly smoothly. This shade wore for almost six hours, which made it one of the longer-wearing shades that I have from the range. MAC Hopelessly Devoted (LE, $20.00) is less glossy. Revlon Adorned (P, $7.49) is more shimmery, darker. MAC Impassioned (LE, $15.00) is warmer. Burberry Pink Sweet Pea (LE, $29.00) is more shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

So, are these basically Chanel’s version of Dior’s fluid line gloss?? I really like the Afriolant, but I already own Rieuse so Im not sure if I need it.

I agree that they all look wonderful on you. After seeing you beautifully pull off so many wildly different colors and tones, I think your skin must be unique…. Like the skin version of universal type O blood!

I went back to the store today and tried out Sensible, but as expected it was literally invisible in my lips. Affriolant was too much, so I went for Extase, which looks subtle (except for the sparkle EVERYWHERE) and lightly pink (similar to how Sensible looked on you).

For these lighter colours, taking into consideration your own lip colour is essential. 🙂
