La Vie En Rose

Catrice La Vie En Rose Illuminating Blush ($5.99 for 0.16 oz.) is a light-medium pink with warm undertones and a soft, satiny sheen. It had mostly opaque color payoff with a soft, lightly dusty texture that was very blendable but did sheer out a bit on the skin. I expect that lighter skin tones will find it easy to work with it, as the coverage was forgiving, but it may not have enough depth for deeper skin tones (I hope Catrice will consider adding deeper shades to their range!).

The Illuminating Blush formula is supposed to have a mix of “subtle shimmer” and a “light pearl” that adds color and a “soft glow” to the cheeks. Of the three shades that exist, I felt like this one was truest to that description, as the finish was soft, satiny but had a visible sheen overall. The blush started to fade after seven and a half hours on me.

Ingredients

The Illuminating Blush from Catrice combines two different color intensities - a subtle shimmer and a light pearl. This accentuates the cheekbones as well as giving your complexion definition and a soft glow! Not tested on animals.

I love to see less expensive brands get good reviews. I have three Catrice products, an eyeshadow palette Absolute Rose which has beautiful cooler leaning pinky, mauve, taupe shades, but mediocre pigmentation, the pink highlighting powder which is very subtle, and the Tinted Lip Glow balm that I love. I would try more Catrice products at such a great price point.

I’m going to get some sponge tip applicators and try it with them. I’ve heard that sometimes works with poorly pigmented shadows. I love the shades so much. It’s so hard to find cooler toned eyeshadow palettes.

For those you looking for deeper shades from Catrice- the Catrice Blush Artistry Palette that I keep ranting about in “Corall I Need” has a deep muted cool pink flecked with the finest gold shimmer. The other 2 shades are a muted matte warm pink and a coral/rose gold highlighting shade that’s similar to Nars Orgasm. Not sure what’s ‘coral’ about this palette except the highlighter but I’ve been having all sorts of fun mixing and creating different looks with this little palette. They’re all buildable, not quite as intense nor sheer as my IT & Cle de Peau blushes but for the $ they rock! I haven’t had the chalkiness issue nor fading like I’ve had with other cheapie blushes like Milani and L’Oreal.
