If they’re liquid/cream, they seem to adhere better to the skin and can be a really fun look, assuming one enjoys glitter. For powder products, I prefer when they have more base color/tint with finer sparkle.

I like a little of everything OR I like focus on a single formula that’s amazing. I could be happy with a few lipsticks, a couple of glosses, quad or similar for eyes, and a few cheek products, but I also find that I dig collections that are a new formula (say a lipstick) in 10 shades.

For me, it’s mostly making sure it’s functional and space-saving. I’d rather a palette that’s slim with no wasted space than lots of pretty packaging.
