Three to four hours without completely fading, and it’s important it doesn’t just cling to imperfections or settle into lip lines as it wears down. I want it to wear away evenly.
9-10 hour wear would be ideal, and if it smudges, that would be a deal-breaker. I don’t mind even fading/the line thinning over time, and I’m not pressed about waterline wear. I will give up some longevity for ease of removal.
It better not smudge or flake throughout the day! I’m less concerned about holding a curl.

It shouldn’t really start to fade until around eight hours, and then it should be a gradual, even fade for the remainder of the day. The most important aspect is that it doesn’t settle into pores/emphasize texture over time.

The majority of it should last 8-9 hours without touchups, but it needs to wear down evenly and not look patchy for the next few hours after that. I don’t want to see heavy settling/creasing into lines or emphasis/gathering around dryness or skin texture.
Cleansers and body washes, since they don’t sit on the skin long and just go down the drain, so being efficacious is important but spending a lot is not typically necessary. I will splurge on lipstick, but I think you can find stellar lipstick formulas at all price points.
Serums/moisturizers (but to a point–I want a good texture but I’m not sold on a lot of marketing claims), perfume, eyeshadow (with superb texture + pigmentation), foundation (when it sits beautifully on skin all the time/great color match), and very blendable blush. Oh, Japanese makeup brushes,...
