I want consistency across the shade range–I shouldn’t have to comb through to find good ones! There should be a good variety in depths, finishes, and colors.
The softer and more blendable a formula is, the more powdery and less pigmented it is, so there are a lot more trade-offs to get the right coverage level while still ensuring it’s easy to work with!

Many years ago, probably to some degree here and there, but now? Not really. It’s so rare that I finish anything outside of base/complexion/skincare/etc. type products that I might as well use it before it goes bad, especially for products like lipstick and gloss!
