Burberry S/S15 Runway Palette Review, Photos, Swatches

Burberry S/S15 Runway Palette ($68.00 for oz.) is described as a hybrid of a highlighter and blush. Swirled together, it’s a muted, light-medium pink with subtle neutral-to-cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. The shimmer in the lettering is an overspray, while the lighter pink and yellowed beige shades seem to go all the way through (I scraped through several layers to check). MAC Modest Blush (LE, $27.00) is darker. YSL Singuliere (1) (P, $47.00) is similar. MAC Pink Sprinkles (LE, $21.00) is darker. Surratt Beauty Guimauve (P, $32.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Dior Rose (001) (LE, $56.00) is similar. Givenchy It-Girl Purple (P, $44.00) is brighter, darker. MAC Well Dressed (P, $21.00) is darker. MAC Pink Cult (LE, $21.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Launch Away (LE, $21.00) is warmer. Burberry Misty (P, $42.00) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

It’s more blush than highlighter, especially as the finish is semi-matte with little sheen or visible shimmer. It doesn’t look powdery applied to the skin, but it didn’t highlight or reflect light from any areas either. It had a very soft, smooth, finely-milled texture that tended to kick up excess powder, though it was blendable and easy to diffuse on the skin. The color coverage was good and appears slightly lighter than the dominant pink section of the blush (as the lighter beige section lightens the overall color). It only lasted for seven hours on me before fading noticeably.

Pretty color, but even if it got A+, $68 is way overpriced for a blush. For that price, I could get one of their shadow quads for $60 and still have some money left over.

Have to agree, I’d be annoyed if I shelled out 68 dollars for high end blush, only to open it and find it looks like it came in a kid’s toy set.

I know the box is the same design but that I could live with, not on the pan itself.

Seeing new Burberry always makes me happy but that print pattern is just so… childish? I don’t know, it doesn’t seem appropriate for a high end brand trying to garner more attention towards their cosmetic line to play their product down like that.

Personally I loved that they put their classic check pattern on their makeup, it felt all the more polished and luxurious!

I’ll be passing. I can barely see it on you which means it will be about the same on me. Also, that wear time..too short for me. I don’t like to carry blush with me on the regular. My wallet thanks you! 🙂 It is very pretty though. I think it would look really nice on fair to light skin.

I have to know: Are the words raised or stamped? My eyes are playing tricks on me — if I look at it one way it looks like they’re raised, but if I focus on it differently it looks stamped.

On a more related note, I like the pattern on the blush, I think it’s cute! But $68 is WAY (way, way, way) over my budget when it comes to, well, anything. Haha!

oh my that is powdery…are the regular blushes like that? shamefully…I did purchase this before reading your review (so not like me!) and now i’m thinking of returning it. it hasn’t arrived yet so we shall see :'( this will be my first Burberry purchase

I saw a youtube review of this and the color does not go all the way through in all parts of the pan. There is the lighter color for the cloud, then the lighter pink for some of the lettering is actually in the middle of the pan with the darker pink around the edges (where you dug). That was painful to see, though! 🙂 The girl who did the review swirled her finger on it to give a swatch and more of the hotter pink disappeared when she did it. This packaging is SO cute, though, and the pan is cute when undisturbed! I just wouldn’t want to spend so much on a blush only to look at it, though.

I did my digging on the edges (you can crack the whole powder if you go digging in the center), so it might be that the center area isn’t as cut and dry – not exactly sure how multi-colored products are manufactured, so it’s possible that the “cloud” section is larger after several layers. Usually if something is an over-spray, it will disappear within a few uses, though!

The cut off letters are driving me crazy! At first glance I read “kain or shine” and now I can’t un-see it. Even if I were interested in this product I would be too irritated by the design to buy it. For that price I would have to be using it every day, always wanting to adjust the lettering.
