Burberry S/S15 Runway Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Burberry S/S15 Runway Palette
Burberry S/S15 Runway Palette ($68.00 for oz.) is described as a hybrid of a highlighter and blush. Swirled together, it’s a muted, light-medium pink with subtle neutral-to-cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. The shimmer in the lettering is an overspray, while the lighter pink and yellowed beige shades seem to go all the way through (I scraped through several layers to check). MAC Modest Blush (LE, $27.00) is darker. YSL Singuliere (1) (P, $47.00) is similar. MAC Pink Sprinkles (LE, $21.00) is darker. Surratt Beauty Guimauve (P, $32.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Dior Rose (001) (LE, $56.00) is similar. Givenchy It-Girl Purple (P, $44.00) is brighter, darker. MAC Well Dressed (P, $21.00) is darker. MAC Pink Cult (LE, $21.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Launch Away (LE, $21.00) is warmer. Burberry Misty (P, $42.00) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
It’s more blush than highlighter, especially as the finish is semi-matte with little sheen or visible shimmer. It doesn’t look powdery applied to the skin, but it didn’t highlight or reflect light from any areas either. It had a very soft, smooth, finely-milled texture that tended to kick up excess powder, though it was blendable and easy to diffuse on the skin. The color coverage was good and appears slightly lighter than the dominant pink section of the blush (as the lighter beige section lightens the overall color). It only lasted for seven hours on me before fading noticeably.

It certainly looks very pretty – love the packaging and the design! But I think it’s too light for my skintone, so I’ll pass…
It’s going to be easier for fairer skin tones to use for sure!
Ditto. If it was a little darker I would have been all over it
Pretty color, but even if it got A+, $68 is way overpriced for a blush. For that price, I could get one of their shadow quads for $60 and still have some money left over.
It was surprisingly pricey!
What happened in the corner of it? It broke?
Hi Andrea,
As I mentioned in the review, I dug through both sections of the product to ensure the color went all the way through. I’ll add an additional caption and bold it to make sure it’s not confusing.
My bad… Im way too impatient.. Lol
I appreciate that you did this since I saw someone on Youtube that had said it didn’t! Which might have prompted you doing it, I suppose. 🙂
I actually do it to any powder that has an overspray or multiple sections by default 🙂
i know why (and appreciate!) you did that but the photo of digging into the blush…PAINFUL.
Whenever products have an overspray/multiple sections, away I go! You never know 🙁
Such a subtle soft color. I can imagine, it would hardly show up on my light complexion with yellow undertones. I love the Estee Lauder lip gloss!
It will be a nice color for someone with a light complexion!
This is so kitschy — I’d expect this from kid’s play makeup, not a chic, classy British brand like Burberry.
Different strokes for different folks 🙂 I thought it was cute, but I can understand the opposite perspective.
Have to agree, I’d be annoyed if I shelled out 68 dollars for high end blush, only to open it and find it looks like it came in a kid’s toy set.
I know the box is the same design but that I could live with, not on the pan itself.
I was wondering what it was that it was that was turning me off.. I prefer the classic pattern.
Not my cup of tea either.
I agree.
I agree – it’s looks like a child’s play makeup
It would work well on my pale skin but I’m just not drawn to it.
Lucky for your wallet 😀
Seeing new Burberry always makes me happy but that print pattern is just so… childish? I don’t know, it doesn’t seem appropriate for a high end brand trying to garner more attention towards their cosmetic line to play their product down like that.
Personally I loved that they put their classic check pattern on their makeup, it felt all the more polished and luxurious!
Easy skip for you it seems! 🙂
I like the swatch a lot. But at $68… yikes! I’ll take a dupe.
lol!
Doesn’t look super special for the price. I would have preferred a highlighter.
I think it looks prettier before you use it, but the effect doesn’t have a lot of oomph.
The YSL, which looks really similar, is a bargain compared to this! That’s way too high a price, in my opinion.
I also like the finish on YSL’s more!
I love the design, and the color is pretty. It’s too expensive, though. I’ll stick with Pink Sprinkles.
There ya go! 🙂
I’ll be passing. I can barely see it on you which means it will be about the same on me. Also, that wear time..too short for me. I don’t like to carry blush with me on the regular. My wallet thanks you! 🙂 It is very pretty though. I think it would look really nice on fair to light skin.
Totally understand 😀
I have to know: Are the words raised or stamped? My eyes are playing tricks on me — if I look at it one way it looks like they’re raised, but if I focus on it differently it looks stamped.
On a more related note, I like the pattern on the blush, I think it’s cute! But $68 is WAY (way, way, way) over my budget when it comes to, well, anything. Haha!
Stamped, or in other words, the lettering sinks below the powder!
oh my that is powdery…are the regular blushes like that? shamefully…I did purchase this before reading your review (so not like me!) and now i’m thinking of returning it. it hasn’t arrived yet so we shall see :'( this will be my first Burberry purchase
Their regular blushes are like butter!
Does the beige part show up on the skin when swatched, or does the pink look darker when you don’t include the beige? I’m thinking of making this my first purchase from Burberry as i really dig LE, especially blushes
It won’t really be visible on my skin tone, but depending on how light/dark you are, it could show up more distinctively. It does lighten the pink color, though!
That swatch looks completely different to how I expected it to look!! In the pan it looked almost a warmish plum.
That little cloud definitely lightens it up!
I saw a youtube review of this and the color does not go all the way through in all parts of the pan. There is the lighter color for the cloud, then the lighter pink for some of the lettering is actually in the middle of the pan with the darker pink around the edges (where you dug). That was painful to see, though! 🙂 The girl who did the review swirled her finger on it to give a swatch and more of the hotter pink disappeared when she did it. This packaging is SO cute, though, and the pan is cute when undisturbed! I just wouldn’t want to spend so much on a blush only to look at it, though.
I dug through the cloud portion and the pink portion, but both shades went all the way through when I did that. I think if you swatch with the cloud in your swatch, it will lighten everything around it, though, since the two will get mixed.
That makes total sense! The girl I saw do the swatch had such a look of sadness on her face! Nice to know! 🙂 Thanks for the reply and research!
I did my digging on the edges (you can crack the whole powder if you go digging in the center), so it might be that the center area isn’t as cut and dry – not exactly sure how multi-colored products are manufactured, so it’s possible that the “cloud” section is larger after several layers. Usually if something is an over-spray, it will disappear within a few uses, though!
I wish it was just a tad warmer. Otherwise it looks lovely!
Maybe next time!
The cut off letters are driving me crazy! At first glance I read “kain or shine” and now I can’t un-see it. Even if I were interested in this product I would be too irritated by the design to buy it. For that price I would have to be using it every day, always wanting to adjust the lettering.
lol!
