Burberry Blossom Light Glow Natural Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

Burberry Blossom Blush
Burberry Blossom Blush

Burberry Blossom Blush ($42.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a coral-orange–there is the merest hint of pink in the background–with a natural finish, just a smidgen of a sheen. It’s a lot like the just-reviewed MAC Supercontinental, which is barely lighter. MAC Fleet Fast is darker, redder. Chanel Tweed Brun Rose is more orange. Tarina Tarantino Feather is pinker and lighter. Tarte Blissful is brighter, pinker. Tom Ford Flush is more vibrant and a bit pinker. MAC Ripe Peach is more orange, lighter.

Burberry’s Light Glow Natural Blush is a formula designed to have good color payoff, easy application, and yield a healthy glow. A lot of the great coral blushes are limited edition, which means once they’re gone, they’re gone for good.  Blossom is a wearable coral that’s not too pink, but not so orange that it ventures into a reddish area. The texture is as soft as silk, smooth as butter; it’s something you have to touch and feel to appreciate. I didn’t even realize just how soft this powder is until I had played with a few other blush formulas–this was one of the softest, most finely-milled powders.

The finish has a faint sheen, which looks natural and glowy without being shimmery–it doesn’t emphasize pores in the slightest. It actually seems to soften the appearance of them (superficially, not actually).  It applies with good color, no need to be careful but you don’t have to spend awhile building up the color if you have a deeper complexion.  Because of the soft feel, it blends like a dream. When I tested this shade for wear, I was able to get a full eight hours of wear, and it started to fade after nine hours.

I know its not the same as buying online but if you call the Burberry counter at Holt Renfrew they will ship it to you without having to pay all the extra customs and duties as buying online in the US stores. They also are fabulous with shade selection and throw many freebies or GWP in the order.

This is so pretty on you! Maybe you have talked about this before, but what is the best way to apply blush? I’ve always been told to apply to the apples of the cheeks, but it tends to make my somewhat rosacea-skin appear more ruddy. Maybe it’s also the brush?

I’d really like to try a Burberry blush, especially after your rave review about its texture. I’ve heard they are generally much more sheer and less pigmented than NARS blushes. Do you think that’s true? Maybe it’s just some of the pink ones that I’ve seen reviewed elsewhere. Either way, it won’t be this colour for me. By my standards or perception, the colour in the swatches (esp. on your arm) seems incredibly orange to me. Too orange for my skin tone, just as Gilda was.

I don’t know if I’d really make a blanket statement like that — given that all the Burberry blushes I’ve seen are pretty light/muted/soft. It’s not like Burberry is putting out a shade that looks like Exhibit A and it’s coming in sheer, you know? They seem pretty true-to-color, but all the colors are softer, lighter, or muted!

“Softer, lighter, or muted” describes what I meant perfectly, though (to my mind) that also translates to less intense or more sheer. That may be unfair though, given how intensely orange this one looks to me. I’ll wait until you review a pink one 🙂 but I have to admit the $42 price tag isn’t the easiest to swallow. I generally have a mental cut-off point in the 30s range, unless the colour is really exceptional.

Hon, if it helps – I did the math on this. It’s $42 for the blush, but the blush is .24oz. NARS blushes are cheaper, but they’re also less product. You’re actually paying the same per ounce for a NARS blush that you are for a Burberry blush, you just pay more up front because there’s more product. It’s one of the many, many ways I justify my Burberry love 🙂

Completely reminds me of my Tom Ford ‘Flush’ so this will be a pass for me. However, I am interested in this line of blushes so I will look forward to reviews of other colours :). I’m on a lipstick/blush binge these days. I think I have 10 blushes on my wishlish right now which is ridiculous. Lipsticks, oi, can’t seem to stop buying. Sheesh!

I am pretty pale and I have this and find it too orange on me, the texture is beautiful but I can’t love it! Because all the other burberry blushes are so muted, this seems a lot pinker on the stand! Oh well!

If there’s a blush I’ve used on a daily basis for more than a month, is this one… I keep coming to it at least once a week. It’s the perfect shade for my skintone in my opinion. You didn’t mentioned in your dupe lists, but at least on my skin (olive medium, around NC30) Nars Torrid and Chanel Fleur de Lotus look very alike.

I an already on board with Supercontinental (launch in two days!) but I could be tempted with this one. And I absolutely love your eye makeup here. I notice you have on Lush eyeliner! Looking forward to a review soon.

I’ll definitely be checking this one out the next time I visit a Burberry counter…I don’t own a blush from this brand yet, because the price makes me cringe every single time but I do own one of their bronzers (copper glow) and it’s to die for…I adore it..!

I bought Blossom yesterday…!they had 25% discount on Burberry products where I usually buy cosmetics and I couldn’t resist…today I wore it to accompany my pink and purple eyes and my sheer pink lip gloss!! it is amazing! great texture, long wearing, buildable !overall, a great purchase for me!!!!

I’m super glad that there is a dupe for Mac’s Supercontinental, although I may have to buy Mac’s version while it’s still available since it is cheaper.

What do you think of the brush that is included?

blueraccoon Avatar

I have two Burberry blushes – Cameo and Peony – and I want, want, want this one but I don’t think I can make it work for me, I think it’s just too orange. *sulks*

I’m actually more interested in your lipstick lol. When I was afraid of pinks I didn’t like Sweet Tart very much but now that I love them I think I need to try it again.

Alison Avatar

Not my colour, but WOW! The formula sounds consistently amazing. I only wish they had several more shades – like a raspberry red or a darker plum.
