A Shimmering, Wearable Brown-Hued Lipgloss

Bobbi Brown Bronzed Heather High Shimmer Lipgloss ($23.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is described as a “pink nude with gold flecks.” This is a plummy brown with a hint of mauve and multi-colored shimmer–it almost looks holographic at certain angles. Holographic or not, it is chocked full of shimmer, though, as the formula might lead you to believe. Revlon Rosegold is pinker, warmer. MAC Blessedly Rich has more orange and copper in it. Bobbi Brown Beach is sheerer and has more gold/bronze shimmer. MAC Social Light is similar. MAC Explicit is a bit lighter. MAC Spree is browner.

I feel like a broken record, because I’m in love with nearly every single shade within the formula’s range. New for fall (but staying in the line), Bronzed Heather is no exception. It has semi-sheer to semi-opaque coverage, though the color itself is more semi-sheer with such a hefty amount of shimmer that it’s almost semi-opaque. There’s a noticeable translucency that enables your natural lip color to come through. The gloss has a lightweight consistency that’s not too thick or too thin, spreads evenly, and when tested, this shade wore four hours. It’s hydrating, and the shimmer doesn’t travel to parts unknown.

I was wondering, do you have the high shimmer gloss in Citrus and do you think you’ll review it?

I’ve been sort of hoping you’ll eventually get to it as it looks like a pretty sparkling coral. 🙂

Wow! I don’t know why I haven’t paid attention to these Shimmer lipglosses before. I had the old style of lipglosses and didn’t care that much for them so I never bothered to try these and I love shimmer glosses. I have been thinking about these ever since you posted a pic in a Mac review with the Pink Tulle gloss. Pink Tulle looks gorgeous on you! I must try these but I don’t know which one to start with.

Upon first seeing the pics I immediately thought of Rosegold but comparing the two you are right, Rosegold is warmer. I was never able to find Rosegold (all sold out at every place I tried) but I do have Blessedly Rich… still, this one is gorgeous and probably better stickyness-wise!

I tried out bronzed heather when the collection launched. I am SUPER pale and on my skin coloring it made me look dead. I do however, have lots of other Bobbi lip glosses and love them. This one just didn’t suit my coloring.

Same for me! I’m very fair/cool-toned, & it looks like a corpsey-grayish nude on me! I WANTED it to look more like it does on Christine–it looks so rich & gorgeous in these pics!

Love this! Would get it but of course no Bobbi Brown where I live. Of course I just got 4 Bobbi Brown lipglosses while on holiday so probably don’t need one more.

I love this lipgloss too! I only own one tho, the sticker fell off but I think it’s Nector? It’s a super sparkly/brightening tangerine anyway. oh its CITRUS! ( thank you yellow lantern) I think I need to get this one also because my name is actaully Heather. lol I don’t mind paying over 20 for a gloss that is worth it.. a good size too.

In general , I love anything by BB, But this high shimmer formula…. Im NOT diggin it! I really love BB rich cream gloss the best, also Laura Mercier glace and Chantecaille luminous glosses!!

Gorgeous color, but not worth $20+, as I’m sure I have *something* similar already (this is my type of shade).

Slightly OT, but do you find Iced Latte to be good in terms of application & color payoff? I’m asking because of all the Infallibles I have, IL seems to be the *only* one that doesn’t seem to show up well on me, but I’m wondering if it has to do with my coloring.

I have two of these and was going to make Beach my third, but now I think I’d rather get this instead. I think I have two. I may have three. (Naked Plum and Pink Sequin, and I can’t remember if I bought another one or not.)

Ok this is it! You’ve been brainwashing me with Bobbi Brown glosses since the start of summer and I’ve had it Christine. I can’t resist their charm any longer… I am definitely gonna buy one or two (or more) of these babies 🙂
