Bobbi Brown Suntan Glow Stick Review, Photos, Swatches
Suntan
Bobbi Brown Suntan Glow Stick ($36.00 for 0.31 oz.) is a medium copper with warm brown undertones and fine, golden pearl. It had sheer coverage that did not build it up (for those who prefer move coverage, but this was described as a sheer product). On my skin tone, it was hard to see much of the base color coming through as it was too close to my natural coloring but I expect on fairer complexions that it will add some warmth, too.
It’s supposed to be a “creamy, lightweight highlighter” with “sheer” coverage that gives “an instant, sun-kissed glow that lasts all day.” The emollient feel of the formula did not play well with products (primers, cream/powder/liquid foundations or blushes). It was wet and lightly tacky at all times, and I routinely was plucking dog hair off of my cheeks. It worked best on bare skin, but just had little wear time that it needed frequent reapplications. On me, it only lasted for three hours.

Formula Overview
$36.00/0.31 oz. - $116.13 Per Ounce
It’s supposed to be a “creamy, lightweight highlighter” with “sheer” coverage that gives “an instant, sun-kissed glow that lasts all day.” The formula was very emollient with a lot of slip and wetness; it never dried down and always felt slick on the skin. All of the shades I tried were sheer, and they were not buildable, so several shades ended up looking very similar on my skin tone (but may look more or less different on other skin tones/undertones). The emollient feel of the formula did not play well with products (primers, cream/powder/liquid foundations or blushes).

This is a nice color too, I wish at least one of these from the line dried down at least 80% or something. I don’t even know why I was looking forward to your review of this shade when the others haven’t been any different. Lol.
Yeah, I wish they dried down a lot more 🙁
“I routinely was plucking dog hair off of my cheeks.”
As a fellow owner of an adorable dog who sheds, this really made me laugh out loud!
LOL! 🙂
That just sound extremely unpleasant! Too bad, because the color and undertone are beautiful.
I love the idea but not the execution!
Eeks. BB needs to recall these and DRASTICALLY improve these oil slick sticks. 3 hr. wear, no discernable color and these not being amenable to laying it down over even foundation is terrible!
I don’t know why they don’t dry down 🙁
Such a shame, as the swatch is so pretty, but the formula is faulty. With petroleum jelly and castor seed oil as the first 2 ingredients, I can see it causing makeup to just slide off. Maybe this can be re-purposed as makeup remover 😉
It had a lot of potential!
Again, a beautiful shade just no quality. It’s a shame you bought these in good faith to review and they have turned out to be terrible. What a waste of money. I hope BB is reading these reviews.
Not impressed by this! The color payoff just isn’t there!
