Bobbi Brown Pink Glow Highlight Powder Review, Photos, Swatches
Bobbi Brown Pink Glow Highlight Powder
Bobbi Brown Pink Glow Highlight Powder ($45.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a peach-champagne with a hint of beige and rosiness and a frosted sheen. bareMinerals The Premiere (LE, $26.00) is darker, warmer. Urban Decay Aura (P, $29.00) is more sparkly. NARS 413 BLKR (P, $30.00) is a liquid. IT Cosmetics Hello Light (P, $24.00) is warmer. MAC Sparkling Rose (LE) is similar. Urban Decay Glint (LE) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
I found this shade to be more metallic than Bronze Glow, and it just very slightly emphasized pores in comparison (but it is minimal emphasis). The powder felt just as soft and silky, which helped it blend easily on the skin. It had good pigmentation which was controllable; it didn’t feel like the merest touch of the brush was too much, but you don’t have to pack it on either. I think the rosiness in this one might be more prominent if you have pinker undertones, but even in the pan, it seems more “rose gold” than pink to my eye. On me, the highlighter showed signs of fading after seven and a half hours of wear.

Pretty!! That looks WAY too frosty for my (almost) 40 year old cheeks…but it looks like it would be a great eyeshadow!!
I could see it being a pretty eyeshadow shade!
I have trouble with powders. Most colors just feel to unnatural. I would like to try this. You make it look so nice! I have really only used cover girl. Does it make sense for me to pay more for something like this? Is it really that much better? Also if I try it does it help you if I buy from your site?
Keep up the articles!
Kate Ryan.
Hi Kate Ryan!
You may really like the way this sits on the skin and feels, as it is very smooth and silky. I haven’t used a lot of CoverGirl products, so I’m not sure how it compares (or how much better it is). It is hard to say that it is say… $35 better, though, no matter what!
Yes, if you purchase through links on Temptalia, it helps support the site 🙂
Does it compare to Becca’s Rose Gold highlight? Which would you put on your Christmas list? 🙂
Becca is warmer, more orange – http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=140405&dupe=180701
oh wow, I didnt know you could do the side by side! Thank you!
Yep! 🙂 Just go to the Swatch Gallery!
I love this shade so much! Am I seeing this right, Christine? Do these have almost half the product of regular shimmer bricks? That would be a disappointment at the same price :/ I might have to check it out in store to see if I love it!
It is a lot lighter, though it doesn’t seem to take up less volume – I have noticed that this type of formula seems to weigh less (MAC Extra Dimension, Estee Lauder Gelee… Laura Mercier does one, but I’m blanking on the formula).
Christine, this is actually really pretty! My first thought was how does this compare to Benefit’s Rockateur, but I answered my own question by using the dupe feature on your site. How cool! There is something about the packaging of Bobbi Brown’s products that is very off-putting to me. I just think she can do better. Otherwise this is a gorgeous highlighter. Thanks for sharing.
So glad you were able to use the comparison tool to your advantage, Eb! 🙂
I don’t like the font. The compact could be heftier in a way, but the font and the way that is printed looks cheap to me.
Yah, agree, it’s a rose gold. Still pretty though! But probably too unforgiving on my pores…
Very pretty! I don’t think it is too emphasizing — very slight!
Just bought this on a whim whilst shopping for bronze glow. It’s very silky and beautiful. So glad you gave it a decent rating otherwise I would’ve returned it! I much prefer the texture of this over their shimmer bricks. Thanks for the review 🙂
It’s SO smooth, right?
I feel like every powder product should have this kind of consistency/texture. I will no longer accept anything less. Ha!
I wasn’t expecting this to be so pretty!! Now I want this one too lol. It’s not as cool as I thought it would be
I expected it to be the cool-toned counterpart!
Anything that makes pores look bigger I need to pass on 🙁
Totally understand! 🙂
I actually like this one more than the bronze one, I think it would look better on my complexion. Both are super pretty though.
I think this one is probably more versatile, since it isn’t as warm/orange.
I was hoping this would be more pink. Though that being said, based on your swatch, it is more of an accurate “rose gold” than some other rose golds claim to me. Hmm…still debating. 🙂
I was surprised it was as warm as it was!
I would have loved to buy this if it hadn’t been marked up to AUD80 in Australia 🙁
OUCH!
I’m almost done with my 3rd MAC Lightscapade which I love. I may just replace it with this. Decisions, decisions 🙂
Wow! Third? Impressive 🙂 I take it that Lightscapade is a staple!
It looks very pretty on you Christine and I might give it a try.
Thank you, Genevieve!
*ooohing and aaaahing*
Now, are you chanting “I do not need any more highlighters… I do not need any more highlighters…” 😉
I should be. 😀 😀 😀
I just bought three of her shimmer bricks (sandstone, pink quartz, and bronze) two days ago and didn’t really check these out. Now I feel like I need pink glow in my life lol.
I see we have a Shimmer Brick fan 😉
wow lovely shade and looks good on u 🙂
Thank you!
Pretty! I actually kind of like the frost– I’d be tempted to play it up for a vaguely sci-fi vibe.
Ooh, I could see it working like that!
Hi Christine! I was wondering how this compares to Superb EDSF? Thanks! This looks so pretty on you! Though when people say rose gold, I think like a light-medium copper…preferably with a pink sheen! Do you own anything like that? (Highlighter, not a blush) 🙂
Very different, IMO! 🙂 http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=180701&dupe=105113
Nope, I’m definitely seeing rose gold, too. Is that an overspray that you’ve rubbed off, Christine? (Or is the product actually two shades?) I can’t quite tell on my screen!
It’s actually two shades!
I added the Bronze Glow to my Sephora order at the last second–I was possessed, I swear! I’m debating going back for this one, but I can’t tell if it would do much for my skin tone. Being very fair and pink already, it might be too close to my skin tone and disappear? Or do you think it would work really well on my skin tone?
I think it would totally work for you, Ginny!
Would you mark it as warm or cool? Or neutral? 🙂
I just bought it, but had a hard time finding it somewhere that would ship to Denmark, because it has not released here yet. It just looks so beautiful so I had to get it! 🙂
Warm 🙂
How does this compare to MAC by candlelight or MAC definitely defined?
This is darker than both!
