Bobbi Brown Pastel Pink Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

Bobbi Brown Pastel Pink Blush ($25.00 for 0.13 oz.) is described as a “pink rose.” It’s a light-medium, cotton candy pink with blue undertones and a satiny finish–not quite matte but not quite a full-on sheen. NARS Gaiety is cooler-toned, bluer-based. NARS Angelika is darker, sparkly. MAC Pink Tea is more shimmery. MAC Peony Petal is cooler-toned. Tarte Dollface is a touch lighter. Bobbi Brown Nude Pink is more muted, slightly lighter.

Normally, I like Bobbi Brown’s blush range for a formula that’s mostly matte, pigmented, and blendable, but Pastel Pink was so dry and stiff. This was another shade from the collection that I had to scrape off layers of color just to get a “heavy” swatch of color.  I really had to swirl and pack on the color to get enough payoff to show up on my skin tone for photographs and testing. If you have any scratchy brushes, I’d recommend using it with this, because it will help dig into the product to yield more payoff.  While I can appreciate that fairer skin tones often prefer a blush that’s not so intense so they can use it with ease, the texture makes this one hard to use even if all you want is soft color.  It’s not very blendable and really needs to be buffed and worked into the skin as it has a tendency to stick and look splotchy.  It lasted for seven hours well, and after eight hours, there was noticeable fading.

haha, my college physics class just got our test grades back and we were informed by the professor that the class mean grade of 56% was “about right” so there wouldn’t be a curve since we “did pretty well”

she has many many gorgeous blushes though.. i own many blushes, and her peony and pink coral are my favourite pinks aside bella bamba/benefit and dainty/mac!

Wwendalynne, if you can get some of her blushers in the core color range, you’ll be impressed with her ‘go-to’ colors. I still reach for Slopes, Tawny, Sand Pink, Nectar all the time! Let the counter girls guide you a little. And her bronzers are really great.

Insane. I normally see decentd reviews on here for Bobbi Brown products and I love everything I’ve purchased. How surprising that this blush and that last palette have gotten awful reviews. It just goes to show that even some of the “best” or “most reliable” brands will definitely have some misses. I thank you for your honesty.

Oh what a shame. I was looking for a shade like this but I’ll pass.
This actually happened to me once when I tried (and I swear I tried so hard) to swatch a Chanel blush at the counter.. I didn’t realize it was plastic, it looked so real.. LOL I felt so awkward.

OMG, I nearly died laughing! Christine, you should have done a mock review on that plastic sample 🙂 Texture? F
Color payoff? 0
Dupes? Plenty, in any tupperware isle.

Doll, your story is super cute, too 🙂 They shouldn’t even put things like that within customer’s reach, because there is no point, if it can’t be swatched!

I have never had a lot of luck with bobbi brown products, I thought it was just me. I can’t seem to get a good color payoff from their eyeshadow or lip products, so I’m not terribly surprised about this review

Yikes. I’m fair-skinned, but it sounds like even I’d have to work to get this one to show up. I have plenty of soft blushes that I don’t have to scrape at to get a good result!

I really like her “Pretty PInk” blush but this is a total skip. I prefer soft color but I don’t want to work *that* hard to get it.

Wow, that’s really inexcusable. I’ve been into cream blush lately anyway, but still! I would expect better quality control from a brand like Bobbi Brown.

This is a very pretty color, very unfortunate that it´s so hard to work with. Hope this and the eyeshadow pallete doesn´t indicate that Bobby Brown is losing quality…

Wow at Bobbi Brown just bombing all over the place lately… you are a very appreciated resource! I hope people see your review before buying! BB has a reputation and I feel bad for those who will buy this based on that. They seriously need to regroup.

OMG! Good thing I was able to read your review regarding this product. I was actually planning to buy one but with this review of yours, I think I’ll just stick to my MAC products. Thank you so much! It looks good on you, though.

The color doesn’t appeal to me. I’m surprised about the quality. I have 3 Bobbi Brown Blushes and I’ve never had a problem with any of them.

This is interesting cause I wanted to get it when I saw it initially and then I swatched it in store and thought it was really horrible as I got hardly any product and it didn’t show up (and i’m super pale) so I forgot about it. Then I was flying from Heathrow and tried it again there and it was really amazing, so I bought it and I’m really pleased with it! Nothing like the one I initially swatched… Thought it was a different colour at one point cause the difference was so huge!

I love Pastel Pink, I actually bought it over Peony and Pretty Pink. I was looking for a pop of pink and tried on these 3 blushes and the Pastel Pink appealed to me most.. I am NC40 and warmed toned (which makes me wonder why it looked best on me as it’s supposed to be for cool tones).
