Bobbi Brown Beach Shimmer Brick Review, Photos, Swatches
Bobbi Brown Beach Club Collection: Beach Shimmer Brick
Bobbi Brown Beach Shimmer Brick ($38.00 for 0.40 oz.) is a new Shimmer Brick for the summer. Shimmer Bricks come with five strips of color and can be used on cheeks or eyes, mixed or individually.
Beach actually works really well as eyeshadow, because it does have a nice fade from light to dark. When mixed together, Beach is a little darker than Beige Shimmer Brick but lighter than Bronze Shimmer Brick. Beach comes together to give a dirty bronze with red undertones and a very, very high frost finish. It has a champagne sheen, but it definitely feels like one of the frostier Shimmer Bricks I’ve tried.
I think on darker beauties, this could be a really lovely way to enhance your natural skin tone and give you that glow. On my light-medium skin tone (NC25), it comes off looking dirty when I wear it alone or maybe like I have a bit of a sunburn. It’s better if I wear a blush and use this as a light highlighter, but I still have to be careful to get it to work just right. My advice is to definitely use a stippling brush when applying it to avoid going overboard. The shimmer seems to accentuate my skin flaws/texture of my skin–and not for the greater good!
I’m not loving it as a blush/bronzer, but I think the shades could definitely be used individually as eyeshadows, like the lightest as a quick wash of shimmer on the lid on days when you’re pressed for time. I also found this one just a bit too shimmery for my liking as well–but I do tend to find they’re more shimmer than I personally want (but hello? they are called SHIMMER Bricks for a reason!), so it’s not an issue of the product itself. One thing that I do want to point out is that the Shimmer Brick contains over twice the amount of your average blush.
I’m curious to hear from other Shimmer Brick fans on whether this one hit the spot for them!

Recommendation: When used lightly, Beach can definitely add a nice dose of glow to your skin, but I think it may be better suited for those of medium to dark complexions. If you don’t like shimmer or if you only want subtle shimmer, Shimmer Bricks–particularly this one–are not for you!

I am so wanting a Beige SB; this looked similar to it, but I have really pale skin so I’m guessing it won’t work too well on me. I have Nectar and love it, so I’m eager to try some other Shimmer Brick varieties! It looks beautiful on you, Christine!
Thank you, Mandy 🙂
Mandy-I am pale and have the Beige Shimmerbrick (LOVE it). With all due respect to the posted review, this is many shades darker on the skin than the Beige, and just not suitable for fair skin. I received the Beach Shimmerbrick on Friday and tried it yesterday, I looked like I had a shimmery sunburn.
It looks like a sunburn on me, and I’m not even fair 🙁
It does reinforce skin imperfections as far I can see. I use to like
shimmer very much but sends I saw it emphasize imperfections like:pores, wrinkles, pimples I do not use it anymore.
I just bought a Beach SB fron Nordstrom.com this week. It’s warmer in person than the stock photo. Amazingly it looks great on my NW20 skin. I’ve used it as blush, to highlight blush and as eyeshadow. I couldn’t do the Bronze SB, but somehow this one works for me.
It’s almost too gorgeous on you! I definitely need one of these in my life! And a Dior one! I am obsessed with highlights! Thanks for doing what you do best!
Woooh! Frost-eee! Thanks for the review Temptalia. Your pictures are worth 1,000 words. Not for me. Thank you again!
It looks beautiful on you! If I amy ask, where do you get those lovely V-neck sweaters? I can never seem to find nice V-neck lightweight ones in tame colors :(. Thanks!
I get mine from H&M lately!
Ooh, I like! 😀
What are you wearing on your lips, Christine?

HTH!
Oh wow I think this would be great as an eyeshadow but not necessaraly as a bronzer/cheek higlight. But then again I don’t think that price is worth 5 shimmery eyeshadows that are almost all similar. I think I will just stick with my MAC All That Glitters.
Do you think these are compariable to the Diorskin Shimmer Powder, like the Amber Diamond one? I really want the Dior but have the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Bronze and I’m not sure if it will have the same look.
No, not really. Amber Diamond is so much more subtle–it’s a really fine, subtle shimmer-sheen that’s not at all frosty.
You look so pretty here! I actually think it looks really good on you. May I ask what you’re wearing on your lips?

Ooooh. I love it. I like the colors individually and I like the way they wash together. So lovely. I am adding this to my want list.
I’d love to see it swatched on your eyes, since you say the colours would make great eyeshadows ?
I’ll try!
Thanks!
I love BB shimmerbricks, I use my Apricot and Bronze on my eyes very often. I think they’re great for a quick and flattering shimmery eye.
This is a really pretty look!
Thanks, Giddy!
That looks EXACTLY like my Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips in Sunset Strip!
Too much sparkle shine orangeness for me but I can see this looking good on nc40 people who want some shine.
The good thing about the shimmer bricks is that you can use them as eyeshadows too! they’re pigmented!
Wow, this looks EXACTLY like my Essence sun club all over shimmer for body, face and eyes, in 02-brunettes.

Looks nice as a highlighter but not so nice as a blush :S Love the lip combo!
I am NC30 and I love this. I wear moisture cover concealer and lilicent cream blush then this on my t zone (sounds weird I know) then eyeliner and it looks amazing.
