Bobbi Brown Beach Babe Glow Stick Review, Photos, Swatches
Beach Babe
Bobbi Brown Beach Babe Glow Stick ($36.00 for 0.31 oz.) is a very light, peachy gold with warm undertones and fine, golden pearl. On my skin tone, the base color got lost since my warmer skin tone washes it out, so very fair and light complexions may detect more visible warmth and color.
It’s supposed to be a “creamy, lightweight highlighter” with “sheer” coverage that gives “an instant, sun-kissed glow that lasts all day.” The shimmer was very fine, and I wasn’t able to detect the influence of the shimmer on the skin–the area just looked glowing from the creamy, emollient consistency that never dried down. It had moved around and looked patchy within three hours of wear. The emollient feel of the formula did not play well with products (primers, cream/powder/liquid foundations or blushes).

Formula Overview
$36.00/0.31 oz. - $116.13 Per Ounce
It’s supposed to be a “creamy, lightweight highlighter” with “sheer” coverage that gives “an instant, sun-kissed glow that lasts all day.” The formula was very emollient with a lot of slip and wetness; it never dried down and always felt slick on the skin. All of the shades I tried were sheer, and they were not buildable, so several shades ended up looking very similar on my skin tone (but may look more or less different on other skin tones/undertones). The emollient feel of the formula did not play well with products (primers, cream/powder/liquid foundations or blushes).

Looks nice in the tube, wish it had done better. I don’t like that it doesn’t dry down either, it would move around so much on my cheeks.
Yikes! Pass on this!
I hate to say this, but the arm swatch makes me think of suntanning OIL. Just pure oily greasy gunk. On the face, I can only imagine how oily this had to have been. Because breaking down all the products underneath it is no bueno!
Christine, this one sounds alike the Revlon sticks duo highliter & blush I found and purchased to experiment because ‘curiosity killed the cat’ Lol! I’m very pale and the colors disappear on me. The Revlon Insta Blush Candy Kiss & Instafix highliting stick in pink light. Good think I avoided the first range of color they are very light. The highliter turned out beautiful though! I found them at Big Lots of all places. $5.00 now there’s a deal!
It’s absolutely disappointing to see that this did so poorly – It has a nice colour to it that would have looked so well on my medium skintone!
I looked at the swatch without the pic and said c-. Guess I was feeling generous. Clearly, if you’re not a Bobbi person, you won’t be a Bobbi stick highlighter person. You make it possible to pick up the one product that suits (bond, yes!) and disregard all the rest. T really is a service.
Bobbi Brown needs some serious overhaul in their management structure to be continually putting out poor performing products. It is a lovely shade but with so much competition in the market, this one just does not rate.
I couldn’t agree more! I’ve been an avid Bobbi Brown fan over the last 10 years but the last year’s product including brushes just don’t cut it. I’m now going elsewhere for my makeup needs.
Disappointing.
