Blushes (Under $15) | 2021 Editor's Favorites
Well, it comes as no surprise that out of 75 blush reviews (under $15 a pop), ColourPop made up all of them. Sometimes I’m surprised more indie brands don’t offer blush ranges (they more commonly have highlighter ranges), so maybe that’s something we can put on our wish list for 2022. That being said, it would still be nice for ColourPop to launch single blushes in a variety of shades (not just mid-tone pink and coral) and utilize more more finishes.
If you’re unfamiliar with how I like to do my year-end favorites, here’s the low down: I pull from the products I reviewed in 2021, regardless of whether they were new, limited edition, or an established range I’ve only just gotten around to reviewing. These are personal favorites, so they may or may not be the highest rated products reviewed during the year (though they will tend to be better rated, naturally!). (You can check out the best of 2020 posts if you missed last year’s.)

Your Year in Review: Blush Edition
I thought it would be interesting to read through how readers used products throughout the year, what favorites emerged, what products fell by the wayside… so, if you want to join in, copy and paste the questions below and add your answers via a comment!
Feel free to break it down by price (under $15) if that makes sense to you since there’ll be an over $15 post shortly.
- What was your most used blush? Least used?
- Will you repurchase it or will you look for something new?
- Was blush a big part of your routine in 2021?
I JUST LOVE the editor’s choice EOY posts. The only negative is finding out I missed X and love it, esp w/ CP.
They were all limited editions 🙁 🙁
I’ve noticed a lot of price creep in drugstore cosmetics this year – was ColourPop the only brand with blush under $15?
There may have been other releases, but from what I cover, only ColourPop.
Surely CP will get a chapter in the next history of makeup book. Blasted off and grabbed the market (share.) Representative of increasing quality without sacrificing lower price points. The rise of interdependence between m/u brands and social media. CP is so significant that it demands to be reviewed. Other DS level brands, I’ll wait to see if Isabella has swatches and an opinion.
What was your most used blush? Milani Baked Blush in Bellissimo Bronze and Clinique Black Honey. I’m surprised that these two managed to go with most of my looks.
Least used? I normally get a lot of use from blushes by theBalm but they definitely fell by the wayside this year.
Will you repurchase it or will you look for something new? I love trying new formulas so I will likely keep looking but definitely would purchase my trusty staples.
Was blush a big part of your routine in 2021? Surprisingly I fell even more in love with blush in 2021.
What was your most used blush? Least used? As stated in the Over $15 section – The Balm’s Hot Mama the most and Clique’s Melon Pop the lest
Will you repurchase it or will you look for something new? I think I will order CP’s Magic Moon – really like that colour and the price is so, so pleasing.
Was blush a big part of your routine in 2021? Yep, it sure was – I really need a good matte coral/pink finish on my cheeks so that my complexion doesn’t look lifeless.
