Chai
Bite Beauty Chai Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick ($24.00 for 0.25 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium-dark plum with a hint of rose and neutral-to-warm undertones. The finish was glossy with a more cream-like look. It had very high color payoff that covered the lips with even color. The liquid lipstick was lightweight with slight slip, but it didn’t feel slippery on the lips or move around too much. It wasn’t as smoothing as other shades in the range, but it didn’t accentuate my natural lip texture either. On me, the color stayed on well for four and a half hours and was moisturizing.

Formula Overview

The Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick is supposed to be "moisture-rich, high-pigment" in a "liquified" consistency that has a "creamy, comfortable application." It's a lightweight, fluid consistency that was neither runny nor thick on the lips. It does not dry down and feels mostly like a liquid-form of a lipstick (and not so much like a gloss). The majority of the range was incredibly pigmented and spread evenly across the lips. Some shades had a bit of color that sat in my lip lines, which was noticeable from a normal viewing distance with a few but not all. It had a lightly tacky feel on the lips, which helped to adhere as none of the shades I have tested have feathered on me. The formula was lightly hydrating, wore for four to seven hours, and had a light, herbal, lemony scent but no discernible taste.
If you've been following Bite for awhile, you might remember the Cashmere Lip Creams from a few years ago, which were also a liquid formula. Unfortunately, I had a couple leak on me and ended up tossing all of them out of fear, so I couldn't do a true comparison, but from my memory, it was slightly thicker and less tacky while both had a more natural shine after initial application.

Pare
Bite Beauty Pare Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick ($24.00 for 0.25 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark, coppery orange with warm undertones and a glossy sheen. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly across the lips. The texture was comfortable to wear and easy to work with on the lips, but it had moderate slip and had a tendency to pull into some of my deeper lip lines. The glossier finish helped distract from that, though, from a normal viewing distance. It lasted for just over five hours on me and was lightly hydrating.

Chiffonade
Bite Beauty Chiffonade Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick ($24.00 for 0.25 fl. oz.) is a bright, medium pink-coral with subtle, warm undertones and a glossy, creamy finish. The consistency was lightweight, smooth, and comfortable to wear and fairly easy to maneuver across the lips, though there was a bit of visible streaking when I looked closely. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, but it seemed like the color didn’t quite “stick” fully in places (see my upper lip!) compared to others–very minor but something I noticed. This shade wore well for five hours and was moisturizing.

I’m always so surprised when a brand has so many dupes competing with their own product! Bite has so many dupes for Chiffonade in its permanent products (although I don’t have any and this is my favorite formula of theirs). NARS also seems to have a several shades very similar to Chiffonade (and therefore similar to each other) in the Audacious line. It would seem like they would be cannabalizing their own sales at some point.
I’m guessing it’s deliberate since they want to give colors in various formulas!
Love ’em all, which is probably not a *good* thing! All 3 shades are very appealing to me, meaning there are probably some less obvious dupes lurking in my stash. Spotted a close one for Chiffonade in MAC Make Me Gorgeous. Even though I was certain I would see MAC Royally Riotous for Chai, it wasn’t listed, so that *may* be letting me off the hook. For Pare, though, nothing terribly close. Or at least, I don’t think so?
Pare is harder to dupe than a true orange due to the muted quality to it!
I’m wary of corals. But that last one, the pink coral looms stunning on you Christine!!
Thank you, Shannon!
Chai looks great on you! All of them are pretty though!
Thank you, Erin!
Love the shades and the formula seems top notch! Can’t wait to see more colours in the range!
Glad to hear it!
These look so pretty on the lips!!
They do!
Hmmmm, Pare looks interesting! It’s an orange but has some brown in it, not as bright orange as some of the dupes
Yep – it is more muted than most oranges!
All these are pretty, but especially Chai.
Chai is gorgeous!
These are just gorgeous shades, especially Pare – which is a tad different to most of the other orangey shades around. Great value for perfect colours.
I totally agree — Pare stands out!
Beautiful colors! They look exceptional on you. I’ll be checking these out.
Love Chai! This time Pare has caught my eye, and I quite like it. I’ll have to see it in person, but the color is pretty.
Hi Christine, do these leave a stain on your lips when they fade away?
Not all shades do! Only ones where I mentioned a stain did 🙂
I bought two of these yesterday and I am blown away by them. Smooth, stay on a long time, good coverage, moisturizing. I got Caramelized (light beige nude) and Puree (they say burnt orange, but it looked like a muted red on me) and they are both so pretty. Will definitely be on the lookout for more colors when the full line is available in my local Sephora. Thanks for reviewing, Christine!
