Bite Beauty Black Coffee, Dirty Chai, Flat White French Press Lip Glosses Reviews & Swatches
Black Coffee
Bite Beauty Black Coffee French Press Lip Gloss ($22.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a deep plum with subtle, warm undertones and barely-there micro-shimmer. It had semi-sheer coverage that applied smoothly but sank into my lip lines with moderate shine. From afar, the shine helped to minimize the appearance of the color settling into my lip lines but not entirely, so one’s tolerance for that will really come into play. The consistency was smooth, lightweight, and a touch tacky but not heavy or uncomfortable to wear. It wore well for five hours and was very hydrating while worn.

Formula Overview
$22.00/0.15 oz. - $146.67 Per Ounce
The formula is described as a mix of "milky nudes to bold browns with full-on color." They are supposed to be "comfortable, cushiony" with a "sweet, mocha flavor" and scent. There are six shades, and they semi-sheer to mostly opaque coverage, and some were buildable as two layers were still comfortable to wear. The texture was lightweight, creamy so the color spread well across my lips, but there was a light level of tackiness that helped keep the gloss in place. The shades wore between four and five hours on me, but they were all extremely hydrating while worn and over time. Some shades applied beautifully with little to no settling or streaking, but a couple of shades pulled into my lip lines more noticeably.

Dirty Chai
Bite Beauty Dirty Chai French Press Lip Gloss ($22.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a soft, medium coral with warm, rosy undertones and barely-there, gold micro-pearl. The gloss applied smoothly and evenly across my lips, and the plush, smooth consistency seemed to minimize the appearance of many of my lip lines. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that stayed on well for five hours and was moisturizing over time.

Flat White
Bite Beauty Flat White French Press Lip Gloss ($22.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a medium, peachy beige with subtle, warmer undertones and a milky, cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied fairly streak-free, but the color did settle into some of my deeper lip lines. The texture was smooth, lightweight, and just a touch tacky, so it didn’t feel overly slippery but was very comfortable to wear. It wore well for four and a half hours and was hydrating while worn.

So sad these are currently sold out! I really want Dirty Chai.
Flat white is my fav starbuckies coffee and I like this lipgloss too.
Thanks, Christine, I was waiting for your review on Black Coffee. I do NOT need another semi-transparent plum gloss but this one looks beautiful! (BTW your eye look is also beautiful!) do you think a lip primer or even a balm underneath might help with the color settling?
Thanks for all of your hard work on a fun subject.
Dirty Chai goes on my list. If I recall correctly these are due in stores later this month, and I will check them out in person then.
DEFINITELY getting Dirty Chai! This and French Press are the only 2 that appeal to me at all. However, not just appeal, but I love both shades very much!
I was initially thinking of getting Black Coffee. That thought has effectively been quashed. Between my having MAC 1 In A Million lipglass and that BC seems even worse…nope.
A couple of really pretty shades here, especially Black Coffee and Dirty Chai.
Dirty Chai for me.
Dirty Chai is very nice!
This might be the weirdest lip color comment ever, but I’ll share it here:
When I saw the photo of Black Coffee on the lips, my immediate thought was that the color would make a beautiful stain to put over wood grain. I love the way it’s dark and rich, but still see-through. I don’t know why it struck me that way…lol!
Can’t believe that as much as i’ve bemoaned the lack of glossier product, and despite loving some of these shades and the Nars vinyl, just think they won’t work for me. I can feel them feathering by just looking at them. The new CPs aren’t grabbing me, either. Too deep wet, for my preference. Maybe my subconscious tells me s.o. my age does not have juicy lips! And the dog hair stuck to them would be a nice touch…black, tan, ginger, and white. Idk, somehow they would be a mess. Doesn’t mean I won’t swatch some.
I love all your comments…but especially the dog hair. I live with a shedder extraordinaire, so that made me laugh out loud!
Ugh, I want the dirty chai color so much! I just don’t think I could justify the price for it!
I’m so tired of everything being LE all the time. I like literally half this launch, but I don’t want to be pressured into buying it when I don’t need it!
My lips are tingling (not in a good way) after using the Bite Beauty French Press Lip Gloss! Anyone else experienced the same thing? I suspect I might be allergic to Bite Beauty’s lip products. 🙁
Does anyone know of similar colours/formulas to Dirty Chai (beyond the dupes already listed)? It truly is a beautiful colour with a gorgeous finish, and I hope I can find something similar that doesn’t irritate my lips.
hey y’all. i’m looking for a lipstick dupe for flat white (glosses aren’t my thing but i love the color, i think it could be my perfect nude). i went to mac today and swatched up my arm and the closest thing i could find was ‘clouds in my coffee’. it’s a bit warm and not creamy enough, though. i also have ‘honeycomb’ from bite beauty but it too seems a bit warm. any help is greatly appreciated!
