#058
Bite Beauty #058 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a bright white with neutral undertones and a matte finish. Compared to a lot of white-based products, it did not apply the worst, but it would be hard to wear it on its own as it had a tendency to appear drier and clump on itself. It would be best for lining the edges of the lips or underneath another lip product (likely to lighten it). The consistency was lightly creamy but quick to dry down–it looked drier than it felt, though–and could not be totally evened out by pressing my lips together, like most of Bite’s lip liners can be. This shade lasted for four and a half hours on its own, though it seemed to separate more and more around my lip lines over time.
The Lip Pencil is supposed to have “perfect, allover, opaque lip coverage” with a lightweight feel. The formula worked exceptionally well for lining the edges of the lips and keeping lipstick on longer and more within the lines (e.g. a lipstick feathers on its own wouldn’t feather when layered over one of the lip pencils). Some shades worked well for filling in the lips for all over color, but a few applied more unevenly or were less comfortable to fill in with. The consistency was soft, just barely creamy–almost more velvety than creamy–and oddly spreadable, as it was infinitely easier to even out color by rubbing my lips together than applying more product. The formula has a lightweight feel on the lips, and the wear ranged from five to six hours for light to medium-hued shades with some of the deeper and richer shades lasting well over six hours. They will require sharpening, and as they are creamier, it was easiest to keep them in a cool place or in the freezer (for a few minutes) prior to sharpening to minimize any mess in the sharpener.

The Lip Pencil formula is supposed to have “perfect, allover, opaque lip coverage” with a lightweight feel. The consistency was soft, just barely creamy–almost more velvety than creamy–and oddly spreadable, as I found the best way to “even” out the coverage was to press my lips together, and while there was a touch of tackiness, the color almost always appeared more even after that than if I kept trying to maneuver and push the color around with the pencil itself. They do feel lightweight, and they lasted anywhere from five to six hours on their own. They weren’t spectacularly long-wearing as a standalone lip product, but they extended the wear of lipsticks by two to four hours.

#060
Bite Beauty #060 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a light peach with warm, orange undertones and a matte finish. It had rich, opaque pigmentation in a single stroke, but it was difficult to get the same level of coverage on my lips. In practice, it had good coverage, just not full coverage. The lip pencil was velvety and applied decently on its own, but there was separation along my lip lines. The color wore well for five hours on its own and was non-drying.I think it would work best with Amuse Bouche shades: Meringue (darker, pinker), Honeycomb (much darker) see comparison swatches.

#050
Bite Beauty #050 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a muted, grayish mauve with neutral undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation when applied to lips, which was easy to apply along the edges of my lips and manageable for all-over color. After getting most of the color applied to my lips, I gently pressed my lips together to even out the coverage, which worked extremely well. The color lasted for six hours and was non-drying. I think it would work best with Amuse Bouche shades: Sake (lighter), Mauvember (darker), Thistle (grayer) see comparison swatches.

#050 looks like a very versatile shade! I’m eyeing that one
I think it will be!
#50 was a must have for me. Picked it up last week.
Woohoo! 🙂
it cool that they came out with a white but I’m more likly to get 060 as a way to erase my lip colour to match my skin tone for a clean base for unique lips colours.
050. Def. Thistle, Sake, Gelato…as pink as it gets for me. If I do any (usually use clear), this’ll be the one…unless it’s s.t. more gray! They certainly have enough choices…
#050 really is the perfect shade for something like Tarte Salt Lyfe or their own Thistle, to make either one easier for a not-so-cool-toned person to pull those off!
The other 2 would be very effective at either lightening a lip color, or conversely, altering one’s own lip color in order to pull off a shade that would be difficult on its own.
I’m glad 050 got a good mark!
Lovely! I love how you’re mapping which lip liners go with which lipsticks, but at the end, I’d love to see a roundup post mapping things the other way around; for each lipstick, a list of the lip liners that match them best. Know what I mean? I think that would be cool!
