Best Blushes (Under $15)

During the year, I found myself more regularly “looking” for new cheek colors to review, especially in the latter half, as I felt like I was running a little low… and it appears that’s somewhat accurate.  There weren’t that many new blushes (highlighters are another story!) that launched this year, even by ColourPop (hello, there’s an area ColourPop should feel free to overindulge in for 2019!), which may have launched the most products in 2018 that I’m aware of (by any one brand).

I hope that Wet ‘n’ Wild will consider making their ColorIcon Baked Blushes permanent going forward, and I’d really like to see more blush shades from ColourPop in 2019 as the ones they released this year were particularly lovely.

What blushes did you reach for this year?

That’s an affirmative! There definitely could have been more in the above formulas. I did get that Clock Work one by ColourPop, and it is such a beautiful pair of shades that I go to for a more natural warm cheek combo!

Hi!

Though I’m not much of a blush person, as in I use it to harmonize with the rest of a look, because I see a need for them, I’ve had a few staple blushes this year:

Surratt Beauty Artistic Blush trio that I composed in Duchess, Cantaloup & Ponceau

MAC Sheertone Blush in Pinch Me

And the NARS Unfiltered I Cheek palette

I have both of those Wet N Wild Color Icon blushes (including another one from that release) and they’re very pretty but I use them as more of a highlighter/blush topper because they are so sheer and shimmery.

You are quite accurate in your assessment of affordable blushes this year Christine, especially from Colour Pop. I was browing their site awhile ago, looking for an inexpensive shade in the peachy range that I could try and I really didn’t find anything that jumped out at me.
I do like the Wet n’ Wild shade Don’t Flutter Yourself, but wish it were in a peach shade.

It did seem like dry year for inexpensive blushes. I don’t have Ooh She’s Blushing, but I have the others on this list, and I think they’re all great. Don’t Flutter Yourself, especially.

My other favorite new budget blushes of the year are Wet n Wild Shade Shifting Zombie Blush (I wish this were permanent) and (new to me) Physicians Formula Butter Blush in Plum Rose and Vintage Rouge. All are flattering, beautiful everyday shades. PF Butter Blush in Natural Glow was a dud for me, though.

Blush isn’t my big weakness and I’ve got 3 “holy grail” ones that I reach for all the time (higher end ones), so drugstore/lower priced blushes just aren’t something I’ve bothered to purchase at all. I think the only blushes I have from the drugstore are from TheBalm (which is only sold in drugstores where I live).
