Becca Topaz Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured Review, Photos, Swatches
Becca Topaz Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured
Becca Topaz Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured ($38.00 for 0.19 oz.) is described as a “golden bronze pearl.” It’s a rich, gold-shimmered, copper-brown with warm, yellow undertones and a luminous shimmer-sheen finish. Kevyn Aucoin Tropical Days (P, $48.00) is lighter, less warm-toned, powder. Bobbi Brown Bronze Glow (LE, $45.00) is a powder, warmer, lighter. Becca Topaz (P, $38.00) is more shimmery, powder. Marc Jacobs Beauty Close-Up #3 (LE) is lighter, less shimmery. Disney by Sephora Golden Sands (LE, $55.00) is warmer, powder. MAC Golden Elixir (LE, $31.00) is sheerer, liquid. theBalm Betty-Lou Manizer (P, $24.00) is browner, powder. NARS Laguna (P, $39.00) is browner, less shimmery. MAC Gilty Bronze (LE, $29.50) is darker, less golden. MAC Global Glow (P, $30.00) is lighter, powder. Estee Lauder Topaz Chameleon (LE, $42.00) is similar in color, powder. The texture is lightweight, moderately emollient, and creamy enough to blend out easily so you can achieve whatever opacity level you want but not so prone to sheering out that you can’t get opaque color. On fair to medium skin tones, this will add visible color and a shimmery luminosity to the skin, though you can blend it out enough where it adds only a slight bit of warmth. The finish is just glowing without being too dewy or shimmery, but it’s still noticeable. It’s very comparable in color to the Pressed version, though the Pressed appears more shimmery and reflective, giving it a lighter appearance overall. I don’t have the liquid (but I purchased it–just hasn’t arrived yet) to compare it to. As I mentioned in my initial review of this formula, the Pressed will give the highest shimmer coverage with excellent color coverage, while the Liquid is sheer and has the least shimmery finish (more of a dewy finish). It wore well on bare skin and lasted for eight hours before fading a bit. It also works patted or layered over foundation, and I would recommend using fingertips or a duo-fiber brush with a light-handed application, depending on what type of base products you have underneath.

Hm, I can’t really pick up on it on your skin!
I am wearing it as a highlighter, not a full-on bronzer, so I didn’t wear it at full opacity! I definitely see it the warmth/brown-ish tint + sheen though.
Will you purchase/review Pearl? There are rarely enough reviews of it online!
I will review it! I’m not sure when – sorry it takes me so long to review things!
I have an awful feeling that I will be buying most of these new Poured Skin Perfectors…. 😀
Haha! It’s hard to stop at just one!
Too dark for me, but glad this got an A rating, and an option for those with medium or darker skintones. Becca does highlighters well!
Good thing there are four others to choose from! 🙂
Interesting! It looks very daunting in the pan but it looks lovely on your skin. I’m glad it can be blended out so well.
Thank you! 🙂
Yep..That’s the stuff. Looks gorgeous on you! I don’t yet own Topaz in any of the formulas.I have had it on my wishlist to get by the summer. I think I am going to get this! I am like drooling over your photos, lol.(not that way!) 🙂
Oh wow! Looks as is Pear sold out already! Eek, hope it comes back soon! I am so grateful for permanent products!
*Pearl..Ugh..I always do that..hit send and as its loading I notice my typos..so sorry!
Hopefully it returns!
As a fair person, I’m interested if it can be applied sheer (it looks nice on you). Powder bronzers are hard for me so I’m looking to try a liquid or cream one. I had my eye on the Perricone MD No Bronzer Bronzer–do you have any experience with that? Or can you recommend any other liquid/cream bronzers for fair skin off the top of your head?
Oh, yes, definitely! I’m wearing it semi-sheer in the photo and it’s a subtle warmth and sheen but I could have gone heavier and made it look like a bronzer on my skin tone. I haven’t tried Perricone products, sorry! I think Giorgio Armani might have a liquid bronzer that’s nice, but it’s huge and pricey!
Sounds great 🙂 I’m looking forward to your reviews of the rest of this line, as some of the other colors look appealing, too.
I’ve only swatched the Perricone on my hand, but from what I could tell, it runs very warm/orange.
Becca. Why must you make such beautiful products. I think I may bite the bullet and get one
I’m really digging the cream formula!
Of all the shades, this one seems to be the most versatile. Obviously, this would work well for deeper skintones, but I can see alot of light & medium skintones pulling it off, if only as a bronzer. I actually want to try it now, LOL! I don’t think I’d ever purchase it (I don’t do the “sun-kissed” look), but I’m really curious now.
Topaz can be too strong for me (pressed), so I didn’t think I’d LOVE this, especially after I swatched and it was like “Whoa! Pigment!” but I do. I think this one might be my favorite! But I haven’t tried Rose Gold yet…
That’s how I felt about the Pressed, as well. I’m also really curious now about Opal in this formula, as the Pressed can be too much (although I wear it as more of a blush than highlighter). I like the liquid formula, but find they’re too subtle for my tastes, so this formula looks ideal. I’m beginning to sound like Goldilocks, LOL!
Interesting. I expected the product to be way too dark, but it looks like it blends out beautifully.
Love your eye look too !!
Monica.
It’s super versatile!
Would you recommend this more as a highlighter or a bronzer? It kind of seems if you applied this heavier, the shimmer would overpower you (if you were using it as a bronzer).
The shimmer isn’t too much, even if you use it heavier – doesn’t emphasize pores at opaque color!
Hmm I had my eye on the powder but now I’m curious to try this one. It just looks so pretty!
I bet it would be gorgeous on you, Fancie!
I WASN’T GOING TO DO IT CHRISTINE, but now I think I have to. Topaz is going to be a little dark on me, but I think one of the lighter counterparts will do well for me. I’m glad to see that there are more highlighters for the darker women and men that want to get some glow going on, though.
LOL! I’m REALLY liking these, and I didn’t think I would like them as much as I have been so far.
I’m super fair but after seeing this I think I will pick it up to use it to warm and bronze up my complexion in the summer. Especially knowing how good the formula is
Definitely doable for even very fair skin! 😀
Too dark for me, but I’d love that color in an eyeshadow.
It is a pretty shade!
It looks really dark in the pan but applies so pretty! I would have never thought to pick it up before your review, Christine. Thanks for the swatches.
No problem!
Oh, wow. I thought it was going to be a LOT darker based on the pan! This would look amazing with bronzed-up skin.
Right?? It’s very similar to the Topaz pressed, but initially it looks WAY darker in the pan.
Hi Christine! I’m fairly new to makeup and I have a question! I have a light-medium skin tone (like you) and would you use it as more of a bronzer or a highlighter? If used as a highlighter, wouldn’t it be defying the purpose of a “highlight”?
I think highlighters can be colored, so if you just applied it to the high points of the face, you would still get the sheen/reflection of any highlighter. If you applied it more as a bronzer or blush, then it will be more like both or more like a shimmery bronzer/blush! For me, I would use it as as a shimmery bronzer but concentrate it on the high points after initially sheering it out for all-over color on the cheeks!
This looks terrifying in the pan! I am very surprised how sheer it looks on you (and gorgeous as well). I’ll have to keep my eyes open for these.
It’s really versatile!
I wasn’t sure with the swatch but it looks really nice on!
It is such a lovely shade!
Wow, sheered out it’s really natural looking but super stunning!
I loved how you could go sheer or opaque!
Okay, my type of bronzer! Sad to say I looked at the ingredients and waay too much wax and such even for a powder product to consider putting it on my acne-prone face. However, I’ll buy it anyway for special occasions and for my décolletage area
Oh, that is a bummer! 🙁
Looks gorgeous! Stop tempting me so much :P.
Luckily, they’re permanent! No rush 🙂
This would be such a beautiful highlighter on those with darker skin!! Now those with darker skin tones won’t have to worry about going overboard with the white/champagne highlights that are on the market. I don’t use bronzers at all or else I would definitely be tempted by this product, it looks super versatile for a huge range of skin tones.
Yesss! 🙂
I love the Topaz Powder and now I’m feeling like I may need the Poured version, super pretty!
It’s gorgeous!
This will probably be a little too dark on me even with a light hand but I’m so glad that Becca has offered this option for medium to deeper skin tones. 🙂
Me too 🙂
Christine you were right! This is GORGEOUS on the skin. Best bronzer ever. I was rather disappointed at the size of the package-much smaller than I expected for nearly $40.
A little goes a long way, at least!
