Parisian Lights

Becca Parisian Lights Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed ($38.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a soft, very light pink with subtle, warm undertones and a warm, peachy gold shimmer that gave it a more metallic sheen on the skin. It looked peachier at times, especially when buffed and blended out on my cheekbones (I’m also warmer-toned). The pink base will likely be more prominent on cooler and/or lighter complexions as it did have good color payoff (not quite opaque, though). The finish did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture.

The texture was smooth, soft, but not quite as creamy as other highlighters from the brand, though it had no meaningful impact on application or wear, as it blended out easily and lasted for eight and a half hours on me.

It’s a new, limited edition shade that launches on February 19th on Beautylish, as well as on Cult Beauty and Becca.

Formula Overview

$38.00/0.25 oz. - $152.00 Per Ounce

The Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed formula is described as having an "ultra-reflective shine" with a "creamy" texture that "applies seamlessly." In general, the texture of the highlighters is incredibly smooth, silky, and finely-milled with frosted to metallic finishes and the occasional more sparkly finish.

They tend to have a high-shine, more metallic finish and are a stronger highlighter, so they are going to be best suited to someone who likes an obvious highlight over a very subtle one. That being said, with a fan brush and a deft hand, one could certainly achieve a subtler, all-over luminosity as well, but if one takes a typical, tapered highlighting brush, there will be quite a bit of pigment and highlight on the skin.

I find that some shades can emphasize the look of pores slightly to moderately, depending on application. They tend to last between eight to nine hours on me.

Ugh this one is killing me! I (obviously) don’t need it and I don’t usually like buying singles, but the embossing is GORGEOUS! At the same time… That pretty embossing would probably make me hesitant to use it, lol.

Awesome, I wasn’t sure if you were gonna review that highlighter ! It looks very pretty, but on the pictures I’ve seen, it seems to run warmer than what it looks like in the pan. But according to your comment, since I have very light skin – I’d say around NC18-20 – it should run pinker on me. I’ll have to swatch it in-store, but I’m glad it got a good grade.

I’m usually not one to jump on a collab because to me, it’s not a selling argument, but I wanted to try Becca’s powder formula – I own Pearl in cream and Moonstone in liquid – and this particular shade looks very original as opposed to the other shades. Except for Amethyst, but I already own Milk Supernova…

Hello Nancy, not sure if that helps, but I got some CORALista vibes… I know it’s a blush and that it’s more pigmented and darker – and slightly warmer, but I don’t know, after a while, it made me thought of it, the way the gold specks look on the pink base

Sigh. I just bought the Lilac Geode. Now I need the Prismatic Amethyst and this one too.
Hi Christine! Will you be reviewing the new Becca highlighter and eyeshadow palettes?

Lulle Avatar

It looks nice but 90% similar to another highlighter from the same brand (Rose Quartz)? Makes me think they could have created something a little more unique.
It has nothing to do with the quality of the product, but the French me is rolling her eyes at the “inspired by the Eiffel Tower” idea. Could you find anything more clichĆ© to describe a product? Nope…

Mariella Avatar

I’ve got several dupes for this shade but my daughter, who loves all things French and has a lot of Eiffel Tower motif stuff in her house, might really enjoy this and it’s something she wouldn’t buy for herself, so I might pick it up for her.

The swatches resemble a lot to how l’OrĆ©al Visible Lift Blush in Rose Gold looks on my skin; l’OrĆ©al says it’s a blush but I use it as a highlighter on my fair/light skin and it has the same shift of colour as the Becca highlighter.

Does anyone know if it would work on pale skin (Iā€™m about an NW15-20 in Mac). Would approciate help since I dont have a store in my city that sells Becca.

Silvia Avatar

Decisions, decisions: what to choose between Parisian Lights, Lilac Geode and Smoky Quartz? My skin is light to medium, with cool rose undertone.
